At least Undertale won for best music.
Deserved, no doubt. Could listen to the entire soundtrack in one go without skipping.
I understand they want to "stick it up to the man!!!!" sorta bullshit meme, and UT's fanbase can get quite fucking retarded (see Humantale), but The Order and Battlefront really deserved it more.

I really don't care that Undertale won most hated, it was expected, but I'm genuinely sad that Her Story wasn't only the winner, but also dead last.
The biggest question I have is will Toby acknowledge these awards
To me, the silliest part is how Alphys won the Worst Character award over Not Important and Preston Garvey, who are both total nothings.
Remember that this is no serious institution doing the show (as if there are any in the industry) and awards like worst character aren't given based on how poorly realized a character is, just by how many people hated them
Alphys is a well made character but her thing is to be annoying, so naturally people dislike her

Now now.
Lets not get mad at Pressed-in-Gravy.

Well...that's a thing.
Regarding the /v/GA's, UT deserved all of the awards it got.
Best OST no doubt. I feel bad for the other nominees because there were a lot of great OSTs that came with the games this year, but UT has a great soundtrack, and its popularity sealed its victory.
Alphys was probably the worst character when looking from the outside. I liked her weaboo personality for the first playthrough just because it was spot on, but having to deal with it if you do another playthrough is annoying. Also, she fucked up everything [sp]even if she gave us Mettaton and Flowey[/sp] so yeah she deserved the award. Hell I can even picture her accepting it.
Worst Fanbase is accurate, I've made two videos about it. Not bashing on this thread its just UT is the kind of game that attracts those kind of people.
Most Hated is almost equivalent to worst fanbase. There's been at least one UT thread on /v/ every day I've visited and the posters there just get mad over its popularity and the autism in the fanbase. I understand why it would make /v/'s most hated game of the year.
Also best quote from the /v/GA's [sp]Undertale is the Donald Trump of video games[/sp]
I think all the 2015 game awards that matter are over so I don't see UT being brought up outside the general fanbases for a while. I'm gonna try and stay away from this game and fan stuff, at least until toby decides to update the game. There's too much I want to see in an update and its driving me crazy thinking about it all the time so I'm just gonna wait till something happens.

"don't even get me STARTED on the fanbase"
I'm willing to admit Undertale may have the worst fanbase, but I personally haven't seen it. Out of everyone I know, only my friend's girlfriend has played it besides me, and neither of us bring it up unless it's to the other. I have asked people if they've played it, but if you're getting annoyed because I ask that once you can go fuck yourself. This thread is the only place I talk about/see discussion of Undertale, and LMAO pics is the only other place I see any kind of Undertale content unless I'm actively seeking it out on Youtube. Basically, from my perspective everyone else is blowing it out of proportion, but trying to look at it from an outside perspective I can see how it'd be hard to argue that to someone who believes Undertale has annoying fans, being a fan myself.
In my opinion, the annoying fanbase comes from places that are just generally annoying overall. Undertale really has less to do with it, rather than the fact that the source is just an annoying and terrible place. Most fanbases are terrible and the reason Undertale has a higher proportion is because it's more popular. More popular = More annoying people talking about it. I'm sure other games with fanbases are just as bad, just on a smaller scale.
good game, cancerous fanbase, amazing music. 'nuff said

Alphys is probably one of the weaker characters in the game, but she's definitely not worse than Hatred Guy or Garvey. It feels like the choice to make her the "worst" was based entirely on a kneejerk reaction. Then again, that could be said about quite a few of those awards.
And what does "the Donald Trump of video games" even mean?

Actually, I think Alphys is one of the strongest characters in the game, the weakest (of the main cast) probably being Papyrus. Don't get me wrong, I love Papyrus and realize this is part of why he's great and all, but he's a very simple character who never gains depth or complexity at all.
I'm again, surprised at the weird hatedom for Alphys. It feels like a lot of people just don't understand her character, or just don't care, or just don't have any empathy for her at all, which is very strange to me.
Stephen Universe, My Little Pony, FNaF.
All of those fanbases are equally terrible, if not worse.
See, I don't like blanket dubbing fanbases as terrible
No fanbase is universally awful. I go on tumblr, I go on reddit, and what do I see the majority of in the Steven Universe related areas? cute fanart, fun plot speculation, and generally just fans having a good time enjoying the show. Sure, I've seen some bad stuff, but it never has more than 200 notes at most.
I don't really have much experience with MLP or FNaF, I've never watched more than an episode or two of MLP and I only played the first two FNaF's for a short period of time, but I really don't see anything obnoxious about them except for the extreme stuff you see posted in the DAAS. Honestly, it feels like I see more people complaining about these supposedly awful fanbases than the fanbases actually being awful.
Question, is it just me, or is anyone else here set on never playing Undertale again?
After my first playthrough, without something like a huge expansion being added, or unless I decide to do pacifist even better, I'm probably never going through it again.

it's ok dude, you can say Tumblr

That's a fair assessment. I guess by "weaker" I meant "more difficult to like", because she definitely has a lot of depth, she's not as immediately likeable as other characters like Papyrus and Toriel. I didn't really like her at first, since for a while it was just non-stop status updates and [sp]staged rescues[/sp], but after the Pacifist ending, she became a lot more interesting and sympathetic. I think some people just never got past their first impressions of her.
Ah man.
I can understand why people wouldn't like Alphys.
And yet the hate still makes me sad. She landed a particularly soft spot in my heart, I suppose.
I sometimes redo Genocide because the boss battles are fun as fuck.
Then again the grinding gets tiring so nevermind.

I think some people just never got past their first impressions of her.
I did. She's still one of my top characters, even after all that she did. And considering what would have happened without those experiments of hers, things would have only gotten worse. [sp]And there'd have been even less chance of bringing Goatbro back, had she not gone hog-wild with using DT on everything.[/sp]
Also, while I think Papyrus is such a great character, he could have done with a teensie bit more depth, maybe a few more changes brought on by his character arc, etc. Just a little, that's all that'd be all that's needed to flesh him out a bit more, since in comparison to Sans' rich backstory (cheesy as that sounds), Papyrus' character is a bit more bare-bones.
...wait a second. What's that behind your ear?

BOOM! it's another issue of HELP_tale, the RPG where everything got smashed together and you gotta fix it.

Up until this point, you could easily identify who [sp]the amalgamate was made out of[/sp] right off the bat. So who's this?
I have no idea. For all we know, it could be every Monster Kid ever.
Or it could be Onionsan after Vinny fucked about with a corruption engine.
Am I the only one who thinks the the Undertale fanbase's reputation is a bit overdone? I fully agree that while the fans can be pretty annoying at times, it still doesn't have shit on things like FNAF, Homestuck or stuff with even worse fans.
Indeed. It's sad that some people don't account for the size of a fanbase when thinking about how "terrible" it is. In reality, it's more likely that there's a minority percentage of fans who are "terrible" in each fanbase, and that even when you see more "terrible" fans within a larger fanbase, it's still only a minority percentage in comparison to the majority.
It'd probably require a small research project to do it, but I imagine that if people counted the ratio of moderate fans to "terrible" fans in various fanbases, the ratio would probably be roughly the same across the board, regardless of overall size.
