FNAF is way worse, I still see that shit everywhere, the SFM workshop is still 75% shitty FNAF models for whatever reason this far after release

I still remember when it was ponies everywhere, regardless of context. At least with Undertale much of the stuff you do see is at least tangentially relevant, like skeleton puns or Blast Hardcheese.

If you look at youtube channels you can easily see a trend how fans go from some franchise to another. Almost everything I found is Homestuck > MLP > FnaF and now Undertale.

It looks like something made in the early 2000's.
To comment on the /v/ga's I can see why Undertale won each respective category.
The worst fanbase award was seen coming from a mile away and the other 2 negative awards stemmed from that.
Alphys's Tweet spam gimmick was a topic for the hatebase to use against claims that Undertale had poor writing, and was a point of criticism for many people stating how it overstayed it's welcome for far too long into Hotland. Add on top of that the side of the fanbase who hates Alphys for [sp]making all the Amalgamates and putting a number of monsters into what can only be assumed as indescribable torture and hiding them for oh so many years[/sp] and you have a two pronged attack for why people dislike Alphys.
The most hated game award is a lot more straightforward though. It spawned one of the worst gaming fanbases in recent memory. The difference being though that unlike something like, say, FNAF or Sonic, Undertale stuck much closer to people who would normally browse /v/, unlike the others that were more targeted towards younger audiences. I can't speak for /v/ since I rarely go on there but each time I have I see constant Undertale and counter-Undertale threads hitting top pages. It hit /v/ users harder than any cash grab or disappointing game could have.
[sp]Also if you actually believe the Undertale fanbase isn't a terrible fanbase you're straight delusional. I love MLP, I love Steven Universe, and yes, I love Undertale. I KNOW what a terrible fanbase looks and feels like; what topics forums generally discuss, and how the fans generally act. Undertale is fully deserving of being grouped in with the aforementioned fanbases.[/sp]
The best soundtrack award was definitely deserving though, even with the amazing competition it went up against. I played all the other nominations besides MGSV and I loved each of their soundtracks. Check them all out if you can.
The thing about undertale fanbase that baffles the most is the community's obsession on remaking/doing mockups of the actual game with something different, like "that didn't happen!" or "that actually happened!" or "that character is now this character!" or "all characters are this character!!" or something. like what the fuck, why? i can totally understand shitting dick nipple porn with characters but this???

Pretty much. When you see stuff like that in random posts on /v/, it's funny, but when you see it in a long video with actual effort put in, it's kind of embarrassing.

Does it affect my life in any way?
Nope.
Does it diminish my love of the game itself?
Nope.
I love the game, it's helped me to learn how to do animation and has kick started an interest in games design the likes of which I've not had since I was 14.
Nothing may ever come from either but at least it has impacted my life in away that is genuine and will stay with me.
