I apologize for the thumbnail, I was trying to make it look wacky. A lot of the successful youtubers have weird click-baity looking thumbnails, and my channel is just starting out, so I wanted to emulate that.
But yeah, if the thumbnail went too far I'll change it.

Never copy what other people are doing, it doesn't make you stand out among all the others and you just blend into the now gigantic sea of LPers.

IMO there's not much recognition and respect to be had if you try to base your popularity by melding with mainstream fads rather than being your own thing.

You can make the thumbnail however you want, and honestly, regardless of the thread's opinion, a thumbnail like that probably would net you the most views. I, along with plenty of people here it seems, would avoid your video specifically because of the thumbnail; however, for each of us there's potentially 2, or 3, or however many people that will be drawn to it. Chances are they're kids, or young teens, but if all you're going for is views, that's easily the most exploitable user base. The larger Youtubers do it because it works, but it's hardly respectable, so you gotta decide if it's worth it, I guess.
Alrighty, I've updated the thumbnail to something less egregious and more fitting to what happens in the video. I whipped up something quick in Gmod like I did with the 1st episode's thumbnail.

See, i was going to suggest you draw something up but that works just as well, actually.
Although that rune like lettering for your name is pretty hard to decypher though.

My suggestion is to just use the title screen of the game + the number of the video. It may not be flashy or special, but it's simple and gets the point across. That's what I would do if I were to ever start let's playing (pretty unlikely though).

It's an ambiagram of "Ryu-Gi" I made years ago that I decided to bring back and give the 3D treatment. If you flip it upside-down it looks the same.
But yeah, I can see where people would get confused. I'll try designing a new logo sometime.

I've seen other folks doing that for Undertale. I figured that I should make my thumbnails stand out a bit more and be more eye-catching.

Alright, so my Archive of our Own account has finally come through, I just need to set up DoctorTale before posting Entry 1. Expect the adventure to truly begin before the end of today.
Been waiting so long for the approval link that I actually finished Entry 1 and got a fair ways in to Entry 2. So there's a progress update for yas.
