Sorry for not knowing how to properly embed tweets or images, but I thought this was important enough to share and I got annoyed trying to mess with it.
I guess this could be faked (although I don't really think so), but I'm really excited to see if anyone else comes forward with more privately answered questions.
...I had to grab an avatar from that video at the top of the page.
adding vocals to voiceless songs is always cringeworthy
I disagree, it's not always bad. There's been some vocal versions out there that I find myself listening to on a regular basis. I'm a fan of Jenny's work in particular.

do you have any idea how hard it is to look up guitar tabs for Undertale when Undertale is also the name of the game
Quite so.

What's the difference between sheet music and guitar tabs?
Nvm just looked it up. Try this: http://www.songsterr.com/a/wsa/undertale-main-theme-tab-s403294t0

The nice thing about the music is that since a lot of the songs share the same motifs, the notes are roughly the same, just played in different keys or octaves. I don't have perfect pitch so I sometimes get songs mixed up even if the note order is the same (His Theme vs Main Theme, Heartache vs Asgore)
My late 1 year retrospective on this game.
Man, this game is so fucking good. I'll never forget the demo and week 1 fanbase, legit some of the best memories of gaming I've ever had were playing this game through for the first time with Mike, sharing our experiences and our reactions to the crazy shit that happened. I was hyped beyond belief for this game when the kickstarter happened and the full game blew away my expectations. I was expecting it to be a bit darker and sometimes I wish it was [sp](True Lab, flowey segments, and genocide run were some of my fav parts of the game)[/sp] but all in all there is really nothing for me to complain about. Sometimes I wish the game didnt get so big because I literally cant recommend it to anyone anymore because they've all heard of it, mostly through the horrendous sides of the fanbase, and have had pretty much everything spoiled for them. Playing this game completely blind was just an absolutely sublime experience.
All in all this was definitely one of my favorite games ever and it was really something truly special for me. I'll never forget it.

I wish this was the same for me.
I actually love the game and else, and i cant get it out of my head. Like, literally i cant stop thinking about it. Its already some sort of important part of my life, but the thing is i wish i played the game blind, but i didnt because a friend of mine spoiled me the whole game with videos and telling me the ends and then i said some time later after he told me all of that and when it started becoming so popular: Well, lets see if its true that this game is that good. I got amazed, but i still didnt get the full experience. I wish i could "forget" about all the playthrought of the game and all of the endings and else just to get the full experience.

Also does anyone know what happened with this?

He did the same thing with Undyne didn't he?
Got done guiding my GF through not one, but TWO playthroughs, and I'm so damn proud of her...
See, her taste is pretty "eclectic." She's not hipster or anything, but for inexplicable reasons she tends to find things most people readily consider classics UNBEARABLE to sit through. We have a lot of common interests, but she has an ASTONISHINGLY low tolerance for bullshit and schmultz.
I invited her to try the game for herself, if only to test the waters. She ended up with a neutral ending, but when I readied a premade save-file for a pacifist run so she could see the proper endgame... she actually opted to replay the game and earn the Pacifist ending legitimately :ohno:
Couldn't believe it, but Undertale managed to grab her THAT much that she was willing to play through the game AGAIN, even when I had a ready-out in case she was getting tired.
It was great, because she went in knowing nothing, and she has an infuriating habit of spoiling everything for herself by looking plot twists and character details up online. But she never did that this time, which helped things immensely.
She openly declared her intent to kill everything that crossed her path, taken by her depraved sense of humor... First encounter with [sp]Flowey's innocence shtick, and she swallowed it hook, line and sinker. She glared at me, silently judging me for taking to a game so saccharin... until seeing Flowey's demeanor shift,[/sp] and she finally saw what was actually happening. It was awesome...
Naturally, she despised Toriel for her mollycoddling and murdered her in cold blood. She adored Nabstablook, and slowly took to the game's humor.
Papyrus was when she started REALLY getting into it. She couldn't get enough of the guy, and he was the first instance in which she couldn't bring herself to kill something, aside from Greater Dog... and ONLY Greater Dog.
She slaughtered her way through Waterfall, taking pleasure in [sp]killing Undyne for all the harassment she'd given previously in the spear-dodging sections...[/sp] She's not terribly versed in the reflexes for dodging in games like this.
Temmie though, she wouldn't harm Temmie...
The rest went with little event, her taking the various plot revelations in stride, and coldly reacting to the tragic story of [sp]Asriel's death and the monsters' vengeance oath with "it's not like they can't have another kid!"[/sp]
But she clearly enjoyed herself, and as always I was delighted to share the joy with her. Still though, the most she emoted from the pacifist ending was going "awwww" when [sp]the various "save"[/sp] options were revealed halfway through the battle... heart of steel, she has...
Time to keep this train rolling with a new DoctorTale! In this episode, Frisk's pursuit of Papyrus and her parallel hits a brief roadblock, in The Case of The Phantom Pants!
I'm going to be doing an update to GilvaTale soon. Just gotta test out the [sp]Asriel[/sp] fight and restart the entire save once beating it all to test out all of the new rips.

I can't believe Toby Fox left the community to fix his own mistake of not putting in a high quality soundtrack in the game
[sp]thanks[/sp]
I got the footage from the Pacifist Final Boss to the credits. I'll probably edit out the parts that have no changes and probably add a quick transition that says the word "Skip". Would it be better to keep all of the footage in-tact or do some skipping?
Agree to keep all the footage in-tact or disagree to do various transitions.
Just started getting around to listening to Underveil, and holy fuck it's good so far.
Getting some serious Mother 3 vibes from a lot of the remixes, even more so than the original songs.
Also dear god this Asgore remix is amazing.
It's kind of making me curious as to what else the Japanese Undertale community is up to, other than the usually fantastic fan-art I see floating around every now and then.
[editline]18th September 2016[/editline]
Dear Jesus I never knew how badly I needed Jazzy Hopes and Dreams.
There's something hidden in the Howdy and...Good-die! track from Underveil. About 2:20. Bring a handkerchief.
edit: his voice is really quiet- turn up your volume.
Ugh...
Decided to check and see if Spoony did a livestream of Undertale, and supposedly he did, though I can't find any evidence of it.
I HAVE however found some tweets he made on the matter, and, oh, shock, he doesn't like it...
Fuck, I LOVE Spoony for how he makes me laugh, and I tend to agree with him when he makes a point, but... this manner of finding THE most asshole way of engaging something is why people tell him he hates everything. I mean, when freaking Yahtzee is giving something a thumbs-up, you have to know you're probably not being entirely fair when you're coming down on the other side.
Yeah, Spoony, it's an RPG with little focus on the RPG aspect. It doesn't have status ailments or enemy placement, and aside from fighting Sans you can't really "miss" unless you actually fail to hit the button at all. Yeah, the story isn't huge, it's simple... why are these bad things?
No, it's not Ultima. It doesn't focus on RPG staples, because it's unnecessary, because the game is "meant" to be played through actions and not violence ideally. And why is a simple story told extremely well automatically inferior? FFXIII was long, complicated and fucking retarded start to finish, and you gave THAT game a new place for the colostomy bag you bought it for Christmas...
Well, anyway... probably late to the party on this one, but anyone have any particular voices they hear (or would cast) when the characters speak? I've got my pick...
Frisk: doesn't really speak, so... dunno.
Flowey: kinda hear a sinister, more mannish Shelby Rabara, or straightup Bill Cipher without the echoe... I go back and forth.
Toriel: Nobody specific comes to mind, probably a higher, clearer voice.
Sans: Laid-back H. Jon Benjamin... makes his scenes great.
Papyrus: Aw, everyone has a good understanding of his voice. Nobody special, so long as you can manage that Skelator/Monarch cadence.
Undyne: Torn... never known if it should be deep and growly, or mid-tone. Makes things confusing...
Alphys: Took a while, but I saw someone put Kristen Schaal up once, and it just meshed perfectly.
Mettaton: Tough, since I don't know if his box-body and his "Micheal Jackson" body are supposed to have the same voice. Box I instantly put to Tim Curry, but that so doesn't work for the humanoid body...
Asgore: Christopher Plummer, absolutely. Just the right mix of kind regality, and the innate force behind it to be menacing when it needs to be.
Yeah, probably not overly original, but my brain can't help but "cast" known voices for read-only characters... Pff, watch this post get boxed like mad...
Sans with the voice of Archer? ...yeah, I could get behind that. Though that would put Toriel in the "danger zone".
Papyrus sounding like Skeletor or the Monarch? Absolutely fitting.
Though it's strange how I can't quite place a voice for Toriel. I just can't think of a voice that would fit her.
Though it's strange how I can't quite place a voice for Toriel. I just can't think of a voice that would fit her.
Ellen Mclain, maybe?
Would totally fit with all her "not letting you out of here" stuff.
Maybe. Though I can't separate the robotic tones from GlaDOS' voice.
Mettaton's Box body and EX body both have different voice 'blurbles' when they speak, and different speaking styles.
Box Mettaton always types in all caps, and has a deep screachy voice, so I always imagined it to be more monotone, text to speech style.
EX Mettaton probably has the more human voice
Sans is always going to have Danny Devito's voice for me.
A long while back, me and a few friends sparked the unholy thought of Danny DeVito playing Frisk.
Like, he'd be dressed like, and playing Frisk, but he'd sort of still sort of have Frank's personality and sensibilities. Just imagining him waddling across the bridge and trying to save Monster Kid, but he's too short and they're just arguing back and forth.
