So I'd been thinking about a few things, and there are a couple questions I can't rightly answer... or am just thinking too hard over.
So Undyne is understood to be crazy freaking strong. Practically a superhero. She can suplex BOULDERS casually...
...and yet she has trouble putting down a ten year old human child?
I mean, I get it. Humans are just made of stronger stuff. Monsters are at an inherent physical disadvantage, so even a human child is akin to a demigod by contrast.
But unless those boulders are made of PUMICE, a human child can't freaking lift one. So clearly Undyne has true, immense strength, even by human standards. I can see why the spears might only be minimally damaging since they're magic and all... but what was stopping Undyne from walking up to you, grabbing you by both legs, and literally ripping you stem to sternum like a goddamn wookie? A sense of fair play? A fear of what the superbeing from the surface might be able to do her in close quarters? I mean, one can only assume SHE gives you the shield you use to defend with...
Also... [sp]Asriel... Or more accurately, the creature CALLING itself Asriel.
With all the importance of souls in Undertale, it seems heavily implied that some kind of afterlife exists in the Universe.
Therefore... Asriel's soul vanished into the ether... but the flower got his dust, and his memories, without it. For all intents and purposes, the flower at least BELIEVES it is Asriel, and behaves more or less accordingly.
So, are we meant to take from this that Flowey and Asriel are not the same, or did Asriel's "self" somehow get dragged along for the ride?
I think it almost certainly means that Flowey is just a being that was not meant to be, burdened by memories that weren't its own... but I don't know that for sure.[/sp]

[sp]Frisk[/sp] is superhuman in that their determination is utterly unstoppable, its a kind of magical force that gives you the ability to reshape the world as you see fit. The entire reason Undyne is so strong is because she has a bit herself, and you're positively overflowing with it.
You may not be able to throw boulders on a whim, but you're incredibly resilient to damage (she literally asks you what the hell you're made of) and practically immortal.
Also keep in mind that a monster's attack power is directly related to their own (lack of) investment in the attack, and the evil intent of their enemy. Namely that it gets weaker if either is present.
In the topic of the flower, [sp]nowhere in the game is there mentioned a monster afterlife, generally what happened to flowey requires understanding of how the story views a monster soul vs a human soul
A monster soul is a fickle thing, it shatters almost immediately after they get dusted and cannot hold very much determination without failing. A human soul on the other hand can exist 'without compassion' and can hold absolutely immense amounts of determination, as well as being stable enough to exist outside of it's host body for any length of time.
Basically, Asriel went from being a kind and compassionate monster to being something closer to his human brother, an entity lacking compassion and overflowing with determination. While he had no soul, he was closer to a human being at that point than a monster.[/sp]
[sp]frisk has CHIM it's that simple[/sp]
Shit, did I miss the discussion about Spicy Sizzleman?
His name's Fire. Wang Fire.
Man, I know you guys aren't talking about Toasty Burner. :v:

Just wanted to say that someone made a KOF version of Toriel for MUGEN, though she's pretty damn strong :v:
Give us a gander, why don't you?
I was watching salty bet and papyrus on there, and he summoned sans and mettaton. and got destroyed
Really wish we had a more ambitious mugen game with Undertale characters. Most of which I have seen use compressed versions of the in-game sprites. I probably start doing that with another friend that's in a gaming design uni right now.

Here's a list of all chars that have been made. Only a few of them are good tho. http://mugenarchive.com/forums/downloads.php?do=cat&id=395 There's a sans made by a korean that's really cool.
