I didn't get home in time for the first page of this thread. Now I have to repost this to the second page.

Until I watched my little sister play the game, it never occurred to me that I could just hit the bomb instead of using [ACT] commands.
It seemed like a bad idea to me.

I know that's been posted before, but jesus christ that's fucking spot-on
[sp]Omega-Flowey is fucking terrifying, and that just puts it into perspective[/sp]

That is amazing.

It's alright, but you can hear him bumble a couple of lines. The thing that I've always heard that sticks out a lot in amateur voice-acting is an unnecessary sharpness to the pronunciation of certain words.
Basically, they try to put a certain edge to sentences and phrases, and wind up over enunciating. I know it's super petty, but it sort of kills it for me. That's why I like the [sp]Omega Flowey[/sp] so much. He nails the natural flow of the writing.

Little tale: the universe where hannah barbera created undertale, and decades later they made a new show with kid versions of the characters :v:
What if there was an AU where the Undertale cast became the new Scooby Doo gang?
Could Undertale be considered in the mainstream consciousness yet?
Nope.
What if there was an AU where the Undertale cast became the new Scooby Doo gang?
who would be who though?
0/10 No UnderRipped
I mean I made it as a joke AU, so I don't really think I'd see any real fanart of it. Plus I couldn't colour even if my life depended on it, so I'm stuck with this not so appealing art style.

But are you livin it up?
Just starting playing this. I think beyond good characters this game is great on a technical level. Things like [sp]how the flower lies to you about the mechanics at the start[/sp] and the moment with Papyrus's [sp]You're blue now.[/sp] are great examples. Elements about the story and characters are tied directly within the gameplay. So the player feels like [sp]the flower[/sp] is a douche. Not just the player's character. It's exactly how you subtly draw the player into a game and cements the interactivity that most story-games miss nowadays.
Reminds me of Brothers: A Tale of Two Sons in that respect.
Hey wait a second,
isn't Undertale clothing merchandise...

If Undertale ever gets anything resembling a sequel, even if just spiritually and with minimal to no ties to the original, what major changes would it have?
I thought it would be cool if the mouse was added into the equation, and different "soul modes" played around with the keyboard-mouse relationship, and with the modes occasionally making references to other genres. For example...
Top perspective with mouse making the soul point in its direction, and also use some sort of swinging instrument to reflect projectiles.
Shooting the soul around with a slingshot mechanic.
I really don't see how he could go about making a sequel. Undertale ending on an absolutely perfect note, and as much as I would love to experience it again like I did the first time I played it I really don't know if another game in the series could ever be as good or even close.
He would really need to pull something amazing.
I could see a spiritual squeal but not a direct one. Undertale is it's own story and it should stay that way.
Glad to see we're taking care of the "Does Undertale need a sequel" discussion that happens every thread early on :dog:
I know a lot of people criticize Toby for "not being able to choose between chiptune and real instruments" in the soundtrack but I actually really like the way he mixed them.

Do people do this? I've never heard anything like that, and I love the soundtrack in its entirety.
I'm just a little surprised that you guys are still finding stuff to talk about after the months.
Most non-mod, non-strategic, non-multiplayer game communities die off like, a month after release.
Unless it is the porn?

The Half life thread is still alive, I don't see anyone complaining.

undertale is the first time i've ever had a problem with the porn of something.
and that's saying something because i usually love porn.

or maybe not all undertale discussions on the internet are populated by degenerates
Unless it is the porn?
Yeah man look at ALL THE PORN posted on the last 3 pages.
Undertale 2 is a mettaton spinoff game where you help him climb the ranks of human entertainment and make him a superstar

I'm kinda curious what people mean by a spiritual successor to Undertale. I assume you mean the whole attack/act and kill/spare thing being in a new RPG setting. It's probably just me, but I don't know if that'd work for a whole new game. It'd kinda lose some of the impact the second time around.
I personally hope it's something completely new. But I guess I'll probably be happy with wherever Toby decides to go.
