[sp]Alphys reminds me of me in a way. Not the depressed part, I like to think I'm not depressed, but the stuttering, awkwardness around others, hard time making phone calls, and so on are things I often have issues with. Makes her that much more adorkable.[/sp]
[sp]ANIME[/sp]
[sp]ANIME[/sp]
[sp]Well I never really watched an anime so other than that we're pretty similar I think.[/sp]
I think Asgore takes the role of most tragic character if you view the neutral run as canon.
My 3 reasons:
[sp]1.) Asgore knows the pain of losing a child but since he has no other way to make a brighter future for the monster kingdom, he has to create more child loss pain despite his caring, pacifist nature.
2.) His wife doesn't love him anymore because Asriel's death caused a rift between them. I also think she blames him for his death as well, creating a double-whammy of grief for everybody involved.
3.) You, playing as Frisk, comes up and finally kills him, sealing the fate of the monsters to remain trapped underground. In the neutral end, Asgore fails as a father, ruler of his people, and husband.[/sp]
Neutral ending Asgore is lead engineer of the suffering train, breaks beyond repair.

[sp]Why do you think Toriel blames him for Asriels death? Where did that come from?[/sp]
I'm surprised just how much there are themes of depression and suicide in Undertale. [sp]Apparently Toriel was going to be able to commit suicide, Alphys is implied to have attempted suicide once and possibly about to attempt it again by the time you meet her (and she even can in some endings), Asgore commits suicide if Flowey's not around, Alphys has depression and self esteem issues, and Sans is at least implied strongly to be a majorly depressed nihilist under the smile.[/sp]

What?! Where did you hear this?

Unused Sprites :U
What?! Where did you hear this?
I heard it first from my girlfriend, but there's also this (and there's a link to the unused sprite in the comments)
maybe it's fake but I dunno I haven't paid much attention to it
Holy shit, and I thought the genocide run was bad. I don't think I could do a suicide run had he made one. No way. :v:
That is a really interesting idea/speculation though. I wonder if he really did plan it at some point? I kinda wish he had done it to be honest, as absolutely fucking terrible as it would be..
technically you don't kill anyone so you still get to be a good person hooray
[sp]Why do you think Toriel blames him for Asriels death? Where did that come from?[/sp]
[sp]When a child dies of tragic but preventable causes, it's not uncommon for one parent to blame the other or themselves for the death of the child. This could also explain the paradoxical actions of Toriel desperately fighting Frisk in an attempt to keep the child safe and away from Asgore.[/sp]
One page late but why are there 2 sanses and why is one red and with a golden tooth?

Its called Underfell or some shit don't know who started it, but its basically shadow the hedgehog crossed with jack spicer.
Basically good characters are evil and evil characters are good, basically its shit.
Underfell could've been interesting if the characters kept at least a hint of their original personalities. Just turned on their heads to be a bit more evil and hammy.
For instance, Papyrus turns into [thumb]http://pre03.deviantart.net/11ce/th/pre/f/2015/310/6/d/underfell_papyrus_by_crystalitar-d9fov01.jpg[/thumb]

I don't think [sp]Sans is depressed. I think he's merely Fatalistic, which is believing nothing he does matters, so he doesn't try.[/sp]

I personally think that [sp]Sans is lazy[/sp]

What's this tim burton shit
[editline]e[/editline]
ok so am I to understand that Underfell is Undertale but everything's evil in the most stereotypical 2000s linkin park ass way possible, that is to say shoving red and black on to everything and making it spiky and edgy

Papa Roach is a MUCH easier target if you're going down the 2000s emo shitfest road.

Step it up GameTheory, Makzu is rolling out the cutting-edge deduction and genius speculation.

This is just speculation, whilst the reason was already given to us.
[sp]Toriel left because Asgore made the decision to condemn and kill any human being that fell, and then declare war on human kind as a whole when they eventually shatter the barrier.
That is the primary reason she ultimately left and took up residence in the ruins, to stop that plan from coming to fruition and perhaps save some innocent human beings, and perhaps the entire human race, in the process.
The deeper hatred you end up seeing when Toriel reunites with Asgore stems from the fact that his decision led to upwards of six 'adopted' children to be slaughtered and their souls harvested, leading to a much more antagonistic relationship between them.[/sp]
it's an AU where any semblance of proper characterisation is thrown away for 14 year old edgy evil designs

whoops late

[sp]There's also clear hate about Asgore's cowardice. She knows that he doesn't want to do it, yet has still killed multiple children, her children, because he's afraid of going back on his word and afraid of the monsters losing hope. Basically Asgore is someone who declared war on all humans out of understandable rage, going against Toriel's wishes, and then killing people Toriel tried to protect; all while doing it under the pretense that "it's the right thing to do", even though Asgore straight up doesn't want to do it.
Man, Asgore deserves a lot of that hate.[/sp]

This is by far the most disturbing image that's been posted in this thread by far and is wrong on so many levels I can't even begin to describe.

Next time on Makzu Theory: [sp]Flowey is a jerk [/sp]

[sp]Exactly right, when Toriel left she was disappointed with Asgore, and also distraught dealing with the grief of losing two children, but she didn't expressly HATE him.
However, as time went by, the relationship between them went from just Toriel and Asgore, to Toriel VS Asgore, with them having directly opposing view-points and Toriel attempting in her own way to foil Asgore's plan.[/sp]

Having gone through depression myself, a friend who was helping me commented that I possibly keep suppressing my depression by joking around and trying to be funny at every opportunity, even if I weren't successful or had to resort to bad puns most of the time.
It's very possible
I don't think [sp]Sans is depressed. I think he's merely Fatalistic, which is believing nothing he does matters, so he doesn't try.[/sp]
[sp]"just give up, I did."[/sp]
Strange... I tend to do stuff like that too, although I have no idea why I do it. I honestly have no idea if I'm depressed, or if this is just who I am. (half the time I don't know what I'm feeling, I'll be honest)
I'm definitely nuts though. The images I get sometimes seem like fair enough evidence.
