You know what, I feel like Undertale feat. Revolver Ocelot is a better idea since I don't even follow politics in the first place.

I really can't pick one single song I love the most though, the soundtrack blew me the fuck away when I first picked this up. I'm so, so thankful I went in completely blind. I didn't even know what Undertale was until I saw it was trending here and picked it up on a whim after seeing TotalBiscuits top 10 list for last year. Good move.
Hopes and Dreams and SAVE the World were actually the ones to hit me the hardest in my playthrough.
The the transition from Hopes and Dreams, to Burn in Despair, to SAVE the world gets me good because it reminds me of [sp] those scenes from power rangers where the villain's final giant robot enemy is tearing the team apart but the power of friendship pulls through and every fucking dinozord comes up on the scene to make this squad of sick ass dinosaur robots and everything is fucking amazing and exploding and you really want them to win and save the world. [/sp] or at least that's how i felt, it just seems to give me a feeling of nostalgia

Has anyone else noticed how Undertale clones (or at the very least heavily-inspired games) are starting to pop up? And I'm talking about original projects, not fan-games. Honestly, I really don't want to see the whole "moral story bullet-hell rpg where young person is stuck in magical world with quirky characters you don't have to kill" become a saturated market.
Clones, I could see the problem. But games that are inspired by Undertale and what made it great, incorporating aspects of it and doing it right, that's probably not a bad thing. However I can't say I've seen or heard of these "clones" you speak of. Care to give a few examples?

And they won't be as popular as the original. But don't mistake games that will probably come out within the next 2 years that have good characters, 4th wall game tropes breakdowns, or morals in the story to be Undertale clones. That's just video games that could be considered inspired by Undertale. But there is the legit concern that the market will be flooded with more indies that use the same tropes as Undertale. Sort of how games past had floods of games that used one color as their color palette in the mid ps3-360 generation.

But even if they are simply inspired I do have a feeling there will be a lot of games that may try a bit too hard to make their characters interesting and their stories very moral-based in the same way Undertale did, all while failing to understand how it was able to work with that game. Pretty much what happens in a lot of saturated markets.

An idea and nothing more. He only mentioned it in passing as something he's been kicking around the back of his brain.
Funny you should say that. I actually had a similar idea myself, though it'd probably play a bit more like a Mario RPG except your party members would use powerups to unlock different "ability sets". Hell, it got to a point where in the back of my head the fourth party member would be [sp]Asriel[/sp], but in reality that would NEVER happen because of many MANY sensible reasons. Though the game, "Digital Dreamers", would have kid protagonists either way, specifically a 12 year old boy, his teenage sister, and his oddly-insightful best friend.
that 'undertale-inspired' game is pretty obviously reusing Undertale's fonts, protagonist sprite, art style, and even trailer style that's not just undertale-inspired. that's undertale-built.
Ok THAT sounds like it's a ripoff.
so how many people have you guys gotten to play undertale? I've gotten 6 people so far, they all love it
2 I tried to get my brother to play but even after downloading the demo (he hasn't played it yet) he'd rather play games like Who's Your Daddy instead. V:v:V
so how many people have you guys gotten to play undertale? I've gotten 6 people so far, they all love it
Three people, so far. They all love it. There's two other people that I hope to introduce to Undertale, but one of them insulted it, and probably wouldn't enjoy it anyway, and the other one would rather just watch a playthrough of it.
I've gotten about seven people to actually give it a try. All but one of them actually enjoyed it, and only two of them were willing to go through with the genocide run after playing through the neutral/true pacifist routes. Though I do have to say, the reason for the one who didn't care for it ("it looks too outdated to be any good, why didn't the creator just do everything in something like Unreal 4 instead to make it actually look like something good?") came across as him just being a graphics whore in my book. It's honestly a shame that there are people who won't even give certain games a chance just because they weren't made in 3D.
