I like the idea of it too, although I wouldn't be surprised if the whole [sp]a human has never taken a monster soul, and now they never will[/sp] shindig was an inaccuracy of poorly-remembered history. After all they've apparently been stuck down there for hundreds of years, if not [U]thousands[/U], so maybe some things slipped into myth and weren't properly remembered. Hell, maybe Gerson and Asgore are the only ones who know the truth, but wouldn't get past their opening spiel before staring off into space and having traumatic flashbacks, like Uncle Joe accidentally recalling his days in 'Nam.
That said, the "millennia" thing might also have been an exaggeration, given the two valley girl monsters who say it to you.

People posting these soundtracks reminds me of the time I used to hear a lot of Lake Hylia's theme from Gilva's channel when I was feeling down. Nothing to do with the whole misleading thing.
