That goddamn smug expression. Someone should slap that on Flowey's mug and see what happens.
You called?
If you're hardcore enough, you can always play Hard Mode.
Isn't that only for the ruins though?
I dunno if I've said this before, but I have a feeling that, once [sp]everyone is topside[/sp] and folks have access to unlimited anime, Undyne would watch a lot of stuff like Berserk. Something just tells me that she'd be big into Berserk.
what makes you say that?
I fucking love Toby Fox, but if I'm going to be totally honest, it kind of frustrates me that he totally dropped the ball on Hard Mode.
It's something that he's "promised" since the Kickstarter, and the fact that he refuses to make it simply because he just doesn't feel like doing it, is a little bit agitating.
Kind of like all the dropped dates, and the alarm clock program that we still don't have, etc.
Considering how successful Undertale has been, I'll be pretty disgusted if he never completes those kickstarter goals.
Whereabouts did he promise hardmode? I don't remember seeing that but I haven't really looked very hard.
But yeah I don't mind waiting, he deserves a break considering how much work he put into this, how delayed it was, and how much it's freakishly taken off since launch. As long as he doesn't just say 'fuck it' one day.

Is, "digusted", really the word you want to use here? What's wrong with just straight-up good old boring "disappointed" or even "very disappointed"?
I guess the "disgusted" part is down to the principle of fulfilling one's end of the bargain, and that going back on a deal is a dishonourable notion.
Personally, I don't care when it's done, so long as it's actually done in the end. These things take time, and people need to take breaks, though no-one really knows what Toby's been doing for the past six months. So long as we can one day play through a complete hardmode, I am still content to wait, for now at least.

The game had more success than anticipated so now Toby is filthy rich ($10+ million off a single game). Toby comparatively has nothing financially to gain from finishing the other goals. I'll cut him some slack since he did most of the work on the game but if Toby doesn't fulfill the kickstarter goals he'll come off as a dick who just ran away with the money rather than making good on the promises of his initial supporters.
Toby doesn't seem like that kind of person, and he probably has a lot of other things to deal with (if you got $10 million in 6 months from starting out at nothing you would probably have issues handling the money at first as well). He'll probably get around to working on the goals eventually, and after that he'll probably work on another game. [sp]The kickstarter goals are the only thing giving me hope for another major update since he has to mess with the game anyway[/sp]
True deets. I don't want him to become another "that guy". Y'know the kind, when you're at Gribbly's, he walks up and is all "This's an 'fichial Meddaton Business Shuut, actsch' ma daaaad knows 'em". Nobody wants to see someone turn into that guy, let alone one as cool as Toby.
I also want to throw out there that from playing around with Game Maker, making a video game from scratch is an absolute nightmare.
I tried creating a sprint key and my character couldn't stop sprinting and ran out of the map.
I tried adding gravity for a platforming section and the whole room fell off the screen.
I tried giving enemies pursuing AI and they clip through walls.
There's so many little things you take for granted. I understand Toby's sentiments of needing a break.
He'll take a break until [sp]everyone forgets that they want to save Asriel[/sp] so he can safely add new things.
:^)
Don't start

I remember forgetting to add in a return to main menu function after disabling Esc to quit the game in game settings, having to restart my computer, and losing all my progress

Can't forget something like that, man. Stuff like that sticks with you for a loooong time.
Nothing to see here. Carry on.

You could've just alt-tabbed or ctrl+alt+del, but then I wouldn't be surprised if I did something similar when I messed around with Game Maker as a kid

i did do that when I was a kid because i literally didn't know better.

Nah, disgusted is about how I'd describe it. If some facet of a game isn't finished due to budget restrictions or legal issues or something, that's disappointing, but if he just chooses to not to bother despite obviously having the means to complete them, then that's disgusting.
Really though we can only wait and see what he does about them.
I know y'all want [sp]Asriel to be saved[/sp] but that would be way too fulfilling for sure wouldn't it?
Good thing that I don't get a all mushy about things like these. I mean we can't save [sp]King[/sp] and Toroko in CS either. But its all about shrugging it off!
Just a note here if you are making a game, make sure it has dogs/puppies in it or it won't be successful!

Not if it doesn't turn out perfectly. Not if it takes a monumental effort on our part. Not if it doesn't leave us wondering whether it woulda been better to leave well enough alone, whether it was right to stay determined and do whatever it takes. That's what would be needed to avoid falling into certain traps. If we give it our all, and yet we're left conflicted by the end of it, that'd keep it bitter in spite of the sweetness.

Is this spoilers for CS?
I was gonna get around to playing it soon.

I don't know, it just bothers me when there's so many things in the world that are legitimately worth our disgust and not getting a couple promised things from an otherwise brilliant kick-starter project made almost entirely by one human being (not a big corporation) doesn't seem to warrant it.
I'm not saying he shouldn't deliver on what he promised but I feel like it's easy for people to lose perspective and react disproportionately.
Like, I know it's not a completely fair hypothetical but if you could talk to Toby Fox over a cup of coffee for 15 minutes would you actually say to him that you feel "disgust" over what you perceive as a lack of effort or would you give him the benefit of the doubt and just mention that you're disappointed?
I don't know, maybe "disgust" is just another word like "literally" because people feel the need to be hyperbolic 100% of the time.

I appreciate the irony in this statement.
Months after the game came out, I'm still listening to the soundtrack and assorted remixes. :dog:

That's fair, I suppose. I thought it was implied but I guess I should have written "some people" to be clearer.
