This game sucks. It's like the JJ Abrams Star Trek movies: it's a decent action fps game but for some reason they decided to slap a popular brand name with a devoted fan-base onto it so that it gets more attention. Also just like the old JJ Abrams Star Trek movies, the devoted fans hate it and young people who don't know any better think it's meh.

No bullet-spongy players, a good stream of automatic fire will annihilate other players if cover and leaning aren't carefully used, and it's surprisingly like if you take R6: Vegas and refined it a bit without a reliance on a cover system. If Ubisoft wanted to murder the series, they could've done a whole lot worse.
and it's surprisingly like if you take R6: Vegas and refined it a bit without a reliance on a cover system..
(this is not a good thing)
(this is not a good thing)
I didn't exactly play Raven Shield growing up, I got my ass utterly handed to me by the original Rainbow Six. So Vegas 2 is basically the game I have the most experience with, and while it was a pretty action-based bastardization of a lot of things Rainbow Six [sp]fucking Gabriel was a goddamn tantrum throwing whackjob i swear to fucking god it's worse than anything Tom Clancy wrote[/sp] it wasn't terrible. I doubt a multiplayer-focused game would have proper planning phases and the technicalities of something like Raven Shield so Vegas to me is an acceptable alternative.
I doubt a multiplayer-focused game would have proper planning phases and the technicalities of something like Raven Shield
The Arma community is a pretty good counterexample, imo. SWAT 4 as well.
The Arma community is a pretty good counterexample, imo. SWAT 4 as well.
I mean, in terms of what Ubisoft would put out nowadays
I mean, in terms of what Ubisoft would put out nowadays
In that case I completely agree. The fact remains though that this game sucks. It's cawadoody: Siege but with the Rainbow brand slapped onto it. Exact same story as the MLG Vegas bullshit.
Really disappointed with the beta. It's an average FPS, no idea why it's called Rainbow Six though...
I wish you didn't have to zoom in to have your sights up. It doesn't make sense that you sacrifice peripheral vision to be ready to shoot.
How exactly do you lay on your back? I've seen people do it, but when I press CTRL my guy just lays on his stomach.
How exactly do you lay on your back? I've seen people do it, but when I press STRG my guy just lays on his stomach.
What in the hell kinda button is STRG?
What in the hell kinda button is STRG?
Haha sorry, kinda forgot it's a different button in English :v: CTRL.
Well I played the beta yesterday, and it was really fun, even if matchmaking had the same old problems every matchmaking has, even convinced me to try and get it –•but then I saw the price, and that the opposing team doesn't get reskinned to look like Terrorists for whatever reason. Apart from the latter being a major immersion breaker, how can they justify 60 euros for this? It doesn't have more content than Counter Strike Global Offensive and only like two modes (Attack / Defense and Terrorist Hunt). I don't understand this, am I missing something? Is there a big feature missing apart from maps and the remaining Operators that isn't in the Beta? Why is it so expensive?
and that the opposing team doesn't get reskinned to look like Terrorists for whatever reason. Apart from the latter being a major immersion breaker,
You underage son of a bitch
You underage son of a bitch
What? They were obviously Terrorists in the first trailer. I can somewhat understand the laziness behind not making 20 Operators for the Terrorist side as well but they could just replace the models of the opposing team with some generic-looking terrorists. It's not like anyone on the opposing team will be able to tell the attacking Operators apart as they come at you, the least you have to do is make variants of Light, Medium and Heavy armour terrorist models.
This game's temporal filtering is really impressive.
so did anyone else get lag / ping issues with this game?, it says my distance to the data center is 50 ms but in any match i try i get about 400 ping and my friend gets over 800! .. pretty much whats having me on the fence about buying the game or not
moves your hands away from the keyboard, frowning and shaking head
you're not really supposed to post like that
moves your hands away from the keyboard, frowning and shaking head
*raise paw*
Ubisoft took out all real player selection and customization, which is dumb and a deal breaker for me. Being forced to choose an op (and only one person per op at that) with a limited weapon range and customization options, is really sad. The game feels closer to what I expected SWAT 5 to feel like than Rainbow Six.

Playing with a friend earlier and he walked in on this and some guilty looking terrorists. "What?" [t]https://dl.dropboxusercontent.com/u/34202767/ShareX/2015/10/2015-10-03_00-42-43.png[/t]
I hope they change the whole restricted weapons thing before the full release. Who thought this would be a good idea? Also, I hate how the 5v5 matches are way too short. Would prefer some setting to turn off the time limit or at least increase it.
i agree there needs to be more rounds per match. by the time you get in the rhythm of the map and who you're playing with/against it's already switching to a new one. just as you're warming up.
The weapons thing is what I hate the most about the classes and whatnot. Especially since as a rookie you can't customize attachments and shit, so if the operator you wanted to use is taken, you're either forced to use shit you don't want to or use the unmodified version of the one you want, defeating the point. Since attackers are the only ones you can use for THunt, a whole section of guns (the ones defenders use) is specific to the shit-tier client hosted multiplayer matches when you're on defense. Also, needing all 5 votes to retry a map needs to change. It should be majority vote, 3 votes required. Wanting to retry a map, having 4/5 votes, then having to go through the whole cycle of map loading and shit just because one guy didn't want to press space is a pain in the ass.
