technical test was a huge joke. i think only maybe 2000 pc players even showed up, and the end result was that ubisoft didn't even get anything out of it. nobody wants to play siege because it's a buggy piece of shit. i don't think there was anything different from the tech test and the alpha other than you could change the settings
i'm going to be baffled if people still buy it. if the game is releasing in two months in the state that it's in there's no way it's going to be a good release at all. and the fundamental gameplay is so lacking there's just no way to justify the price tag for it, free maps or not
It definitely feels unpolished, clunky, and buggy, but I've liked what I played so far. Probably not gonna buy it though if the price is outrageously high.
Huh, the same thing just happened to a guy in a game I was recently in. It was 3v5 too and we were doing so well, kinda anticlimactic but damn
Shit I was in a 3v5 too... I was in the 3 man team. I was playing as sledge.
Shit I was in a 3v5 too... I was in the 3 man team. I was playing as sledge.
Haha! I was in the 3 man team as well! but I can't remember who was playing as what (although I think there was a Sledge on our team... cause I wasn't able to pick him!). I kept dying pretty fast (I think you even saved me that round) but you two were killing it, even brought us to a close 3-2, I was really impressed with our team. Ah, well now I can blame questionable game design for our loss.
still waiting for my damn key
Yeah jesus christ it was supposed to come out today.

It was pretty funny, but I was so pissed at the same time..
Played the beta/test.
The game play feels so disengaging, I'd rather grow a garden cause that feels more engaging.
if you play higher than default 60 fov you're actually gimping yourself.
i tested out 60, 70, and 90 fov.
at 60 (default) you're able to look around corners that 90 fov can't. meaning if you play at 90 fov, you will get shot before you even see people because your character's body is not where your camera is.

the main reason i couldn't actually test the fucking test version is because nobody played it
i legitimately could not find any matches. i played two full games over the course of three days and it was painful.
i played a decent chunk of games in the technical test, but matchmaking was borked half the time and it would either not find enough players to fill a team, leading to 3v5, 4v5, 4v4, etc. or it'd just sit in the lobby screen while we had 5 people matched together.
I keep getting disconnected from the ubisoft service or whatever, haven't gotten to play an actual match since the test opened :v:
Matchmaking is awful, I gotta keep restarting the game or exiting and rejoining matchmaking as it never fucking works. I've played 2 games in the past hour and a half. It's kinda fun, but I'd enjoy it a hell of a lot more if matchmaking was snappier
First day of beta and it takes like 10~ mins to find a match :v:
I've managed to play only one match and it was a 5v1. Everyone left after one round because it was such bullshit.
Also, are there no US servers? The one I connect to is a western European server and I'm on the East Coast.
It was pretty funny, but I was so pissed at the same time..
Yeah, it was pretty funny but I was thinking if that were me I'd probably have thrown the keyboard. I think we still did a great job anyhow.
In regards to matchmaking, I managed to get in a couple games today. Shame that I get 0 EXP and 0 Renown for 90% of them, though.
This game needs a lot of work still. You can shoot people behind walls (any type of wall). The networking is bad.
Is there anything you gotta do after you do the registering on their website to get the beta? No R6 on my Uplay atm.
It has been working well for me. Kinda disappointed, the general feel of movement/gunplay just feels strange. Not sure if there's some kind of mouse acceleration, smoothing, or whatever, but aiming is extremely sluggish. Moving around feels like you're underwater. People take WAY too much damage before dying. What happened to the days of R6 being the type of game where one or two shots puts someone down? Even goddamn terrorist hunt NPC enemies take nearly half a magazine from an assault rifle before going down. What the fuck man, I was so hyped for this shit too.
Also, the FOV fucking sucks. Like you're looking through a straw. But as has been said, changing it puts you at a disadvantage as car as corners go.

Terrorist Hunt has weird hp values, but TDM is fine, and has pretty realistic damage levels, 90% of the time people will die to the first two shots you fire, unless they're wearing heavy armor and you hit them in the chest, and every headshot is an instant kill.

Shooting through any wall is more of a feature than a problem.
So uh, a friend gave me a key, it worked and I got an email saying that I've reserved access for the beta, does that mean I'm supposed to wait for a second key or something untill I can DL the beta?

They're giving people access in waves. Automated process apparently.
So generally how long has it taken you guys to find multiplayer matches. I waited 7 minutes for one before I gave up. Maybe everyone's playing terrorist hunt.
terrorist hunt is quickest, and I enjoy it a lot more than TDM. Much more action in a round and it lasts longer. TDM's can be over in a minute or two if one team sucks dick.
[editline]26th September 2015[/editline]
plus TDM always bugs out on finding matches. Terrorist Hunt is like a 30 second wait.
Anyone else have the issue of Siege beta freezing your entire computer?
oh, there's THunt in the beta? about time they started showing off co-op, because everyone knows how lackluster the pvp is
Just won a 1v5 on House my heart is racing.

I agree.
I also hate how TDM doesn't give you any points until all of the matches are over. So you can play out 4 matches, get disconnected or whatever, and get absolutely no renown for it. THunt doesn't run that risk.
I'm curious as to what the singleplayer is gonna be like. There's gonna be a singleplayer aspect right? I just don't see it being very good, unfortunately I get more CoD vibes from this than R6 vibes. Was using a 416 (closest thing to a DMR in the game, what the fuck man) in TDM, flashed a room and jumped in to put 3 shots dead center mass into a dude. Had to retreat out because he shook it off and started firing back. Crap like that should never, ever happen in a R6 game.
Well this is nice so far, 1st game I got kicked from for no reason, 2nd I lost connection, 3rd game, stuck on the loading screen, no way of actually playing the game, had to close the game off in order to get to the main menu, 4th game, actually got through a full game, I'm doing Terrorist Hunt because PvE is WAY better than PvP shit, I prefer me co-op sheit.
So far my only real complaint is the sensitivty, I either have it high or low, I can't really have it between since it's either 2 or 3 for me.
I'm playing on PS4.
[editline]26th September 2015[/editline]
Oh my fucking god, you can get fucking suicide bombed by some of these fuckers in THunt, I've had this happen twice now, once behind a barricade and another time behind a Ballistic Shield while he was fucking sponging my bullets.
[editline]26th September 2015[/editline]
Alright this is pissing me off now, I've died 3 times to Bombers, there is no way I can react to one of them rushing me which is what they always do when near to you, you can't run away from them, you can't stop them from blowing themselves up, it's utter shite.

There is no single player campaign
Bombers are meaty as fuck. You're not meant to stand still and shoot whilst they run up at you. You backpedal the fuck outta there if they're closing in on you. If you're far enough away and think you'll be able to sink in enough bullets to down the fucker, then do that.
Only reason I wipe through Bombers is cause I use the Machine Gun and it mows them down. With an AK, I usually just back the fuck up whilst spraying them. They're meant to be hard bastards to kill and they're not someone you just waltz up to and take out easy peasy.
[editline]26th September 2015[/editline]
You can run away easy, or jump down from a height if you're upstairs, or run around a corner and use the wall to shield you from the blast. I died lots to them but now I know how to take them on (always from far away).
This game really needs a server browser i fucking hate this trend of AAA games not including them, i dont really care how perfect you think your matchmaking system is , its not.. it always pairs me with brazilian people so my ping shoots all over the sky while its fine on everything else
