i really hope they balance the fucking objective locations, certain areas are deathtraps for defenders or attackers.
nothing says fuck you like getting the second floor of testing range with the biohazard container for every single defense.
Some random helpful info.
- Muzzle Breaks are kind of useless. Silencers also hide muzzle flash. Yes, they also reduce damage and all TTK will go up by one bullet but all headshots are still one hit kills so, personally, I'm ok with that.
- Compensators are great. They remove all horizontal bullet spread from a gun so its recoil is just a straight, vertical pattern.
- Laser sights are helpful-ish. They reduce hip fire spread by ~25% on all weapons keeping bullets tighter together, except shotguns. They're useless on shotguns. The problem is you can see them from around corners. I took them off all my guns except shield characters pistols and LMGs because I'm ADS'ing 99% of the time anyway.
Yeah I don't find the hipfire accuracy to be worth giving away your position 90% of the time. I keep it on my shield dudes and Jaeger's rifle because I roam with him after setting up my ADS.
I have always been a fan of tactical shooters and saw a steam friend playing this "Siege" game and got curious because I have heard of this franchise before but never gotten into it.
While I love the idea of breakable everything is it worth its price, being an online only shooter?
It's a solid game, but it's not worth the current tag. It's about a 40 dollar game, I had a lot of fun, but it can get repetitive pretty fast.
What's everyone's competitive rank? Does it even mean anything yet?
I'm silver 3. If I lose, I'm silver 2. If I win, I'm silver 4. Just caught in the middle of it.

It's about as repetitive as Counter-Strike. If you don't like that kind of game then you're probably not going to keep playing it for long.

counter strike isn't really as reliant on team playing tbh. R6 is very team dependent and you'll most likely fail without it where as counter strike every man is for themselves.
I was gold 4 and then went down to silver 2 despite not losing any games and coming first in points/kills most games.
What an interesting method of ranking you have there ubisoft.

But at least in R6, there are so many more different ways to die from bullshit with destructible walls and whatnot.

Ya I deranked while just sitting between matches not doing anything.

If you played ranked between Dec 20 and Jan3 (or something close to that) they didnt count despite what your game says.
My stack managed to beat an aim botter who would just run right out of the plane every attack phase an 360 no scope three or four people every time. He was fucking awful on attack phases himself though and in overtime we got defense first so we just dragged it out to third round and won. Feels so good.

I think they basically just split the leaderboards up into brackets, which means that as people gain ranks and join the leaderboards, you can get knocked down or up without any input.
anyone having frame drops after the patch, seems to happen to me in cafe most of the time
I'm really starting to think Compensator > Silencer, especially on Defenders. Silencers on pistols are fine though, at least for quietly taking out cameras.

Depends on your character. Some characters are great for sticking around the objective room so the lack of a silencer isn't going to hurt you because the enemy is expecting you there anyway.
But if you're playing a character that isn't going to be any more than a gun at the objective, and they're very mobile, making them a good roamer, a silencer is the most valuable thing you could have for coming up behind attackers.
Is it just me or does the recoil chart for the muzzle hider sometimes look better than the compensator?
Is it just me or does the recoil chart for the muzzle hider sometimes look better than the compensator?
The recoil chart isn't going to look better for the compensator. The compensator just eliminates all horizontal recoil and makes it just a straight upward line.

On that note the recoil chart changes when you go through different skins, and I swear some of them make it look slightly tighter.
Do they actually effect anything at all or is it just a random image?

you sound like a really bad CS player.
Nothing to put you on tilt like the game matching you in ranked against the same 200 ping fucks twice in a row and you panic abandoning at the match screen to try to get out of it, only to be told your team is now 4v5.
I almost always use a silencer. Regardless of how it affects recoil, it almost ALWAYS tightens your burst groups.
Players that choose Rook but don't put down the armor, Why??!!
or they place it in the worst spot with 2 seconds left of prep

i had one go roam to the other side of the map, and put it for himself.

and then winning in the end with the 4v5 :dog:
So Smoke is cool, and his loadout is insanely good.
it's all bout them EMP grenades baby. Say goodbye to all your jammers, ADS, and nitro cells

I think it's safe to say the SAS are the best overall operators compared to the other countries. The others usually have at least 1 mediocre operator, but SAS have all high ranking.

To be fair, you should get your armor as soon as the prep time ends. I hate the people who refuse to do anything until they grab their armor. Armor can wait. A reenforced wall or jammer cannot.

I was never very good at cs. I just watch how other people play and its very self centered most of the time. The only teamwork is callouts and you don't have tools to aid in the overarching situation.

GIGN are all pretty amazing too - very solid defenders especially with the MP5 and twitch is really useful as an attacker with great guns and shock done. Montagne is down to personal preference but isn't terrible.
