sledge is gamebreakingly amazing in pvp. most people just use him to break down a window to siege in to somewhere
nobody on the defending team expects the wall behind them to just get torn down by a sledgehammer and then immediately get shotgunned in the face
PvE's somewhat fun though, I'll probably get the game for that once it comes down in price. Ubisoft games usually drop in price significantly after a few months.
I hope the game isn't completely dead after a month like Evolve. Sadly, this will probably be the case.
A gamespot preview said it was gonna have a hostage mode, and single player missions with objectives that are also playable in co-op but meant for single player, just no story.
I wonder what that's gonna be like.
Hostages sounds like a clusterfuck. With the shooting through walls mechanic, a lot of hostages are going to get killed. Especially when you consider griefers as well.
hostage mode was in the alpha. it was kinda cool, quite a few hostage killing incidents both from the defenders and the attackers. i didn't see much hostage killing by shooting through walls iirc. i think the hostage was normally behind something you couldn't shoot through like a desk or a table or something

Take a look at this shit: https://www.reddit.com/r/rainbow6
It's like 90% bitching, I'll be amazed if the PvP ever takes off at all. The only saving grace will be the coop mode and that ain't worth $60.
this game would easily triple in sales if they just released it at 20 dollars and not 60. they'd probably make more money off of it solely because it's a triple A title at a discount price. but we all know ubi will milk the 60 dollar price tag until after the holidays and then drop it down to 20 bucks in february
so fuck them on killing their game before they even launch it. it's their own fault and i'm sure everyone that's worked on the project knows how hard it will tank post-release, but the uppers don't care so long as they get the bottom line
it's unfortunate too because I'd happily play this game on release, but like everyone else 60 dollars is a lot of money these days when you have responsibilities, and who wants to pay 60 bucks for a game they'll play for two days before never touching it again
I wonder if a petition against full retail price would actually do anything. i'm sure more than any other game to come out the last few years this one is obviously the one with the least amount of content on offer other than evolve. But people were so blindly hyped by evolve that they bought in to it anyway
I guess destiny was a huge letdown too, but once again: hype train.
there is no hype train for rainbow six siege. the people that were hyped for it saw how big of a letdown it is and are no longer interested in it. a petition would at least show the publisher that consumers absolutely refuse to pay for a game that has nowhere near sixty dollars worth of content
Anyone want to join me and Milkandcooki in some Terrorist Hunt? We tried alone but the damn suicide bombers keep catching us by surprise.
so far feels like a watered down vegas 2
and didn't everyone complain that those games were a watered down raven shield?
Did you guys get extra codes with your beta? I'm interested in trying it out.
https://contests.nvidia.com/en-us/rainbow-six-siege-giveaway
dunno if you'll get in right away but its supposed to work
My codes invalid apparently.
I mean I dont REALLY give that much of a shit about it. But free game.
you have to follow the instructions, it doesn't just register into uplay, you have to go the siege beta site then it will automatically register into uplay at some point or something
Yeah, I did, I followed the link to the website, clicked activate your PC code, logged in, typed in the code and it said "UNFORTUNATELY, YOUR CODE IS INVALID."
are headshots the only way to bring down bombers?
otherwise just run from them?
are headshots the only way to bring down bombers?

It seems like if you shoot their bomb things they can't explode.
it seems everyone goes in guns blazing without using their little robocams
Honestly I got some good teams going and even though we got our shit pushed in I'm having a lot of fun, been having a lot of cool moments with tactical teamwork.
I feel like this is the best game I wouldn't buy, it has all the mechanics I always want to see in games actually being utilized but the problems and bare-bones content and price range all outweigh it.
Which is weird, because I actually like playing it so much.
This game is hella fun but is gonna be DOA for $60.
That makes me hella sad.
does the AI actually spawn outside or am I just retarded and letting them run out
I really do enjoy this game a lot. The mechanics are fun and it plays out well for me. It really is a shame that they're charging so high for it, I would've bought it otherwise. It'd suck to pick this up cheap later only to have such a small playerbase that matchmaking has to work with, I'd play this a lot if I could afford it.
I got a beta registration code, but I only registered it last night because I was a away. I got this email, but haven't received anything else

Have I missed the beta or something?
[editline]29th September 2015[/editline]
I'm suite interested in this and would love to give it a try.
sorry if it's already been said but how large is the dl for the beta? not going to bother if it's too big
I give it 6 months tops before it goes F2P unless something amazing happens

My folder is around 6go.
Also the real problem with shields isn't really their resistance, it has more to do with the sidearm. Handguns are way too accurate when wearing the shield. They should nerf that instead of nerfing the shields.
Because we know how it always goes with shields, they're considered OP, then nerfed to the ground and nobody use them anymore. I think their main role should be mobile defense for your team and not personal i-take-no-bullets-while-being-accurate kind of thing.

Almost 7 GB, it's a little less than that.
Put the game at $30 on Steam, it would sell a million in a week.
But this is Ubisoft.
For some reason all the codes i got for the beta were invalid :S
Nvm working now
