are headshots the only way to bring down bombers?
otherwise just run from them?
They can go down with body shots, but it takes a lot.
Also, I haven't done any scientific research on it per se, but I'm pretty sure they are outright invincible to leg shots. I had a PKM and slowly unloaded an entire magazine into the legs of one of them because they're all that was visible and he wasn't moving, didn't die from it. Someone else later on popped him with a headshot.

Also the real problem with shields isn't really their resistance, it has more to do with the sidearm. Handguns are way too accurate when wearing the shield. They should nerf that instead of nerfing the shields.
Because we know how it always goes with shields, they're considered OP, then nerfed to the ground and nobody use them anymore. I think their main role should be mobile defense for your team and not personal i-take-no-bullets-while-being-accurate kind of thing.
that's exactly it. that french dude with the shield + revolver combo is fucking god mode. especially because he can stand up and deploy his shield full-body, which means a full team of players can stack behind him and move in to a structure. not that anyone does/can because he's occupied by some shithead that sits behind a desk and pot shots anyone that comes in to the room with perfect accuracy
Pistols are bullshit and that's why shields are too strong.
I'm not so sure pistols are overpowered. More like people don't realize it's a Rainbow Six game. I've been harping on the game recently, and while I do think it's a far cry from what R6 should be, I've found a lot of my problems with the game come from trying to play like everyone else.
The other day, I sat down and played like I was playing Raven Shield. I moved slow. I set my assault rifle to single-shot firemode. I didn't pull the trigger unless someone was lined up in my sights, even if they were shooting at me before that happened.
Lo and behold, I fucking dominated. Everyone ran around BRRRRRT-ing as much as they could on full auto, destroying the environment and shit, I just cruised along and *pop*pop* he's dead. Turn, *pop*pop* another down. Last guy ambushes me, bullets flying everywhere, I turn and make sure my reticle is on his head *pop* we win.
Worked on shield guys too. Instead of firing into their shield like a madman, I calmly shot the shit out of their hands forcing them to retreat, then got them through the wall as they turned away from facing my direction.
Maybe it's because of the lack of marketing, maybe it's because people these days simply do not remember how to play the tactical shooters of old, but go into Siege thinking Raven Shield and you'll find yourself playing an entirely different game altogether, a game many people are missing out on.
Still wouldn't pay 60 bucks because matchmaking shit netcode and having to unlock shit first though.
this game might be worth the pricetag if they just added a splitscreen mode. i used to play the ever living fuck out of terrorist hunt with my brother and it was a blast
there is just zero incentive to buy this for a full $60 jesus what were they thinking

we live in the age of "i play cod so im good at fps"
before that they had no idea what a tactical shooter actually was

I never played a RB6 game before but me and my friend literally crouch around, lean, listen for people and basically sneak and unless we face a team with really similar teamwork we usually demolish people
Also shields become a lot less threatening when your team actually listens to you, myself and another teammate were pinned by a shield guy and my 3rd mate came up behind and murdered him. If we popped out to kill him we probably would've died but instead we just stayed in cover and tried to provide suppressive fire as best we could to keep him back
The teamwork that could be accomplished in this game is amazing.
oh damn i got a code emailed to me 2 days ago and just realized now, and I've been so thirsty to play this too haha
Wait wow, I only just realised the price for this game is £49.99 and it doesn't come with a singleplayer.
It's fun though but then so is Evolve.

I ended up in a game with old school R6 players and, even without any communication, we were wiping the floor in Realistic THunt. As in, we'd barely take any damage and nobody would ever go down unless someone got really unlucky and turned a corner into a bomber who wasn't making any sound. Just a systematic execution of all OpFor. The most we'd actually communicate was in the beginning, stuff like, "Let's start from the roof and work down," but because we all pretty much knew how to play tactical shooters, it was a breeze.
Got to the point where we purposefully picked the hard way to do things, like blasting in through the front door, looking for a challenge. Nope, still demolished everything in our paths. Best part was the sounds, the quick one or two shot bursts, very little return fire, quiet as hell. It was beautiful.
shields are ridiculous, are you able shoot through the eye slot or something? because it seems like fucking godmode
shields don't do well against explosives but unfortunately no defender i've ever met knows how to use a nitro charge or grenade properly at all. in fact i don't think hardly anyone ever uses their special abilities

because no defenders even get grenades
tons of classes get nitro charges which are essentially all you need. if you know someone is coming in to a room, just toss a charge at the entry point
smoke grenades are utterly useless and should be removed from the game. i've not once encountered a point in which they were of any use. give defenders frags and the game would be much more thoroughly balanced
[editline]29th September 2015[/editline]
actually smoke grenades would probably be useful if they actually did their job. nine times out of ten you can see right through the smoke because it's like 10 particles and it only covers an itty bitty area. you can see shapes right through it, and since all of the characters are so laden with rimlighting you can make them out a mile away
add me. someonesoup. we'll play pvp all day boye

The only time I saw someone throw a smoke grenade was to defuse the bomb while the Terrorist was outside the room rappelled and using the window as the viewpoint. It did succeed and I was very impressed

it could make for a good distraction but i've never seen anyone use it/there's no real need for defenders to distract anyone, and most people are smart enough to just ignore the smoke
my biggest problem with it is it's such a small area. it's a REALLY small area. like it's enough for one person to stand in if they so chose to do it. two people would be a crowd and three is almost completely unfeasable because the plume just isn't big enough.
smoke is traditionally used to conceal movement and/or a well placed grenade in front of an enemy's face completely blinds them but allows you to move freely without having to suffer from it, but nobody seems to do that at all. i'm sure smokes could be devastating if used properly but given the other equipment options they're just not good enough to bring to the front lines. at least imo

Sounds like the game could be at least a great multiplayer-only version of Rainbow Six gameplay as the fans know, even if it pulls more from Vegas than Raven Shield, but it'll be the players at large that have no idea how R6 works that will ruin the whole damn thing.
Yo use smokes as attackers.
I've been doing it every time we breach or move in and it works
as a recruit you get 3 smokes, its OP as fuck
why does GIGN look so fucking weird?

My favorite is Montagne. I though Fuze looks bulky until this guy showed up. He looks like a fat riot police or something. I mean, just look at that

How can he even move (not to mention rappelling) with all that stuff on him?

god damn that was terrible hahahahahahahaha
I really enjoyed what I played today. Terrorist hunt is really fun, and I was playing it solo.
Need more time on standard matches to make an opinion on them, but they don't seem to bad either.
And I was really impressed with the amount of options the game gave, especially in places concerning the HUD.
