The brightness is zone based instead of it being any real form of effective HDR, as such you get weird effects like walking through a wide-open wall you just busted and the lighting suddenly changing despite that making zero sense.
ACOG's help peeking windows. Not sure why, but they clear up the lighting and get rid of a bit of the awful glare/darkness. I actually have ACOG's on all my weapons now and it's very noticeable.

Not related to R6 Siege per say but I wanted to share a semi-related story:
Okay so usually when I play Siege it is with a specific group of friends and one of our best tactics is the Montagne-Glaz manuever where I (Montagne) folds out my shield and call our targets while a buddy of mine (Glaz) takes them down as they are too busy wasting their magazines on my giant ballistic shield.
Well last night me and said buddy were playing Planetside 2 and during a siege (we were defending a mountain base from an armored onslaught) I decided to equip my MAX with the Aegis shield.
Now, for those of you unfamiliar with Planetside the MAX units are basically soldiers equipped with supersized, heavily armored, exo-skeletons with wrist-mounted weaponry and the Aegis shield is basically a riot shield mad eout of pure energy which blocks all damage (even tank rounds) as long as the projectile hits the shield.
One important thing to notice is that we had been dug in for about thirty minutes and before that we had been forced to fall back as the enemy forces (TR) had been reinforced by a large airborne force flying ahead for a even larger armored unit, in other words we were pretty damn tired of getting constantly bombed.
"Where are you going with this Viper?" That my friend, is the beginning of a excellent story.
You see, after I equipped my MAX suit and brought out the Aegis shield I went straight for one of the defense lines (there were two, one blocking the highway from the enemy tanks and one covering a natural stone barricade which protected our rear, currently sieged by infantry only) and met up with my buddy.
We then employed the Montagne-Glaz maneuver as we both climbed the rockwall and jumped into the lightly forested area on the other side. There were dozens of enemy medics, light assault troopers and heavy assault troopers.
They all started blasting away towrads my shield which was lighting up like a christmas tree.
Then they realized their mistake because not only did my buddy use their reload time to mow down at least five people with his gauss LMG, but the rest of the friendly infantry ditched the defense line and followed us through the forest as we took down the enemy infantry.
Skip ahead a few minutes and we had managed to circle around the enemy's mechanized force and pushed them back.
All thanks to a bright blue shield distracting dozens of trigger-happy Terrans.

There is nothing more painful than getting shit all over in a match and then fighting the same exact people in the very next game
two friends got R6. I told them they were going to be terrible at it. Their response: "We played the beta and was good at it. We'll be fine"
They go 0-1-3 for like 3 matches in a row while myself and another carry them. Then, after playing the same map all fucking night (wtf R6), they get some kills and we win a match.
oh god you reminded me, the last time I played with my friend we got Yacht like 6 times in a row and we both have it disabled in mm prefs
also keeps putting me into bomb even though i disabled it as well

Didnt record it, but I had an ace on Yacht while playing as Castle. Team completely shits the bed and I got lucky with my camp style. The UMP never performed better than that round.
And then of course you get called a hacker because of it. I also killed another person through a hatch on Oregon (above the laundry room) by planning when they're placing the charge. Seems to be the new thing.
