SimRacing General: successor to Forza/Gran Turismo/Racing thread - Games

So all of my festivals are at level 5, but I still haven't gotten the "Like a boss" achievement. Is there something else I need to do?

Finally got Horizon working at a decent frame rate with the latest Nvidia drivers. Has there been any sort of FP gathering yet? I've put my name down on the list and added a few to friends.

So i raised the bar a little and i did 8 laps of Goliath, this time the second place was near me and sometimes overtake me, third place was also around me but at lap 3 he went deep down and i lapped him few times. So what i also noticed in Goliath, is that 3-9 positions are always stuck at the same sector of the race, from the 12 Apostles entrance to Byron Bay. Once again, the bots were crazy, but not as much as the last race with only 6 laps and a lap advantage. Its amazing how significant the rubber band AI is in your favor on easier settings. I was just messing around getting XP with the wallgrind thing and took 30 minutes to complete a sprint that usually takes 3. I finished 11th. The last place AI car pretty much stops if you fall far enough behind.

[/QUOTE] IIRC it's because the world loads and un-loads as you drive around and if there's a significant distance between you and the AI (enough for the world-part with the AI to unload), the AI will simply get stuck there untill you pass them again and the world loads back up

So the Koenigsegg One:1 can't last a whole lap of Goliath on one tank of fuel. Sucks because I want that damage and tyre wear CR bonus but can't have it on due to the fuel consumption.

I assume it's always disabled in free roam?

is it just me or is the AI not so good at offroad racing? i have it set on max difficulty and i still get like 3 seconds ahead on cross and offroad races when on normal roads i can get max 1 second ahead

is it just me who hates the extreme offroad class? its like there programmed to torque steer into the nearest tree/wall

Anyone have any suggestions for a 1 million or less car to do speed zones with? I've got the Jaguar D-Type already and completed all the Speed Traps with it, but I need something that can turn for the speed zones.

I'm not talking about the ones where you just have to be going a certain speed when you pass the camera, I'm talking about the ones where you have to average above the speed through the section.

Comes out to sub 100k or there abouts Edit: missed the bit whrre you need to turn

Anyone subscribed to iracing? Been always wanting to get it for clean racing, especially as it has VR support.

racing isnt always that clean especially some of the nascar events or gt3 and people get super salty but its a lot of fun and probably the best vr or multi screen supported racing game. if you dont want to purchase a lot of content you can just do the included mx-5 stuf, its highly competitive and has the highest participation of all the events
