SimRacing General: successor to Forza/Gran Turismo/Racing thread - Games

Speaking of the XR Falcon GT, in the starting grid menus, it's referred to as the 'Ford Falcon XR'. How dare they. It's the very first of the Falcon GTs (some of the most-desirable cars ever made in Australia), the first Australian-made car with a V8, the very first Australian muscle car, and its legacy has endured in the Ford vs Holden battle that continues today. But the developer can't even give it the dignity of referring to it properly. But then again, most of the car names in the shorthand naming are absolutely hopeless too.

I [I]love[/I] the way the C3 looks (it's still my favorite Corvette design), but I got a chance to drive one and wow talk about a "don't ever meet your heroes" moment. While it was most definitely fun, and an experience I'm very glad I had, it pretty much destroyed my desire to eventually own a C3. They are amazing looking, but oh man. That car is not for everyone.

And early C3's were amazing. 450 horses and that unmolested bodyshape. Unf. F1 2016 has just been released on iOS. Does anyone know if it has a manual shifting mode?

So it turns out it doesn't. I really wanted to enjoy the game, but the poor frame rate really lets it down.

So is POTW still happening? I can't remember what the last one was.

I just think the C4 has aged the worse and in my experience is by far the cheapest out of all corvettes

Is Forza Horizon the closest thing I'm going to get to Gran Turismo on a PC? I've never played a Forza game, but it looks really nice.

Horizon is a fantastic game though, I feel like I'm starting to prefer it over the track based ones.

Closest you'll get is probably NFS Shift (but it's quite old). I'm not sure about Shift 2, because I never played that. Horizon 3 is more of a competitor to DriveClub, NFS 2015 etc. But it's still a pretty damn good game. My only complaints really are the 30fps on XB1, not enough Australian cars (especially considering the game is set in Australia) and some of the engine sounds are lacking.

Finally got forza horizon 3 installed, but ever since the first festival upgrade the game crashes after a few minutes of playtime. Is there any fixes to this? It freezes for a second or two, then a grey screen and then CTD

Is there any way to strip out the factory turbocharger in cars in Forza Horizon 3? Forza 4 had a bug that essentially allowed you to remove the turbo (or drop its compression to 0psi) so you could lower a car's power and PI rating. It was great for cars like the RX-7 Spirit R, so you could lower the power for tire upgrades or whatever.

Finally got the FD in Horizon 3. But it looks kinda... wrong. Not sure why exactly. Maybe it's because it's either no spoiler or massive spoiler, there's no modest spoiler to put on it.
