woah i completely forgot f1 2015 is out here in the uk at midnight, i play the f1 games with a pad because they've always been quite lacking on a wheel so i'm excited to finally have a new pad game to play
hey so im a hypocrite so i signed up for iracing with the free 3 month code and then my wheel broke
so f1 2015 is a shambles. there's no career mode, no safety car, it's littered with bugs, random frame drops at least every other race forcing you to quit the game [editline]10th July 2015[/editline] it certainly looks a lot nicer but that's about it

you should try tradingpaint, i think people running that tend to set logo 1 to current comp logo 2 to there club then the paint scheme to anything because they never see it, you still qualify for competitions using custom liveries

"The game crashes more than Maldonado"
I just watched someone on stream trying out online for the first time, the race started, and the first person to cross the line from the grid won the race.
i just thought if your doing ovals and people have a lime green and black colourway they are probably trying to make the car look like the mello yello car from days of thunder
I just watched someone on stream trying out online for the first time, the race started, and the first person to cross the line from the grid won the race.
So they're putting an emphasis on qualifying this time around.
rally championship 2000
I have this in a box under my bed; I cannot for the life of me get it to work properly on Windows 7. Shame, because it's what my dad used to introduce me to PC gaming back in the day...

Check out "XP Mode" and see if you can get it.

Ah fuck greece, cocked up stage 3 by overcooking a hairpin and sliding out of a left turn into a tree, went into maximum attack for stage 4, cut a corner too close in the beggining of the course and I puncture a tire, with about 500m to go to the finish line, I'm riding on rims for both front tires and that somehow equates to 84% damage. Fuck you greece.

Fuck you greece.
I cocked it up by hitting a bump in the corner before the last hairpin of the same stage, which caused me to overshoot the next corner and smashed me straight into a bunch of bushes. Not as idiotic though than damaging the radiator by having smashed into the finishline of the first stage instead of crossing it. Although I doubt that I could have won considering how slow I take hairpins. Gotta practise more on those.
I couldn't even play for the last week because at 30°C room temperature (36°C outside), my PC starts glowing white hot on the inside after a few minutes.

I'm used to the RWD cars in the sense that you can get the tail out just by giving it a bit of gas, and flicking the back. But when you do get used to the handling, it's so much easier to flow from corner to corner and maintain your slides. I found the hairpins really easy to take, reduce to 2nd, handbrake + gas and the car maintains the revs and slides around easly.
Norisring is like the Final Destination of RaceRoom. It's the most common and populated track, but also the most simple.
thinking of getting into some sim racing on pc, so i'll probably buy one of those logitech g27's sometime next month, was wondering though i'm still waiting for the consumer version of oculus rift, but if I do end up getting into this, i'd pretty much get a rift purely for race sims, what's the experience with them like at the moment? do any of the current ones have good support?

The only other racing game I've personally been able to try was GRID Autosport and it worked well enough. Menus were FUBAR though, which is a recurring theme. Assetto Corsa's OR support was busted when I had it so I never got to try it, and at the time I didn't have the other racing sims either. Euro Truck Sim isn't exactly a racing game, but it's a related game I got to try and had excellent OR support. I've heard iRacing's support is very good. Assetto Corsa and Project CARS people cite as being very good once you get ingame, but I don't think their menus work. I know RaceRoom has official support, but I've never tried it, nor do I know how good it is. rFactor has a plugin to give support, but I don't know how well it works. DIRT Rally seems to be at least as good as AC and PCars, but I'm not sure if its menus work. As for how it is to drive, I never played a full race or anything, but it was pretty good. The immersion is awesome, but your peripheral vision suffers. That's something that should be better with the CV1 because the edges of the screen won't be blurry anymore. However, the raw FOV is still a little narrower than I'd like for a racing game. The DK2 was too blurry for me to really get into it and use it in practice. It was fun to play around with and see what VR simracing could be, but the resolution just wasn't there for my tastes. CV1 on the other hand, should be good enough. I'm planning on getting a CV1 for racing games as well. I think of all the genres out there, simracing benefits the most directly from it, because it's an incredible alternative to the prohibitively expensive triple monitor setup and inherently solves the accurate FOV problem. It also doesn't run into the same issues as flight sims do where pixel density is an incredibly important part of being able to see. While you do need to be able to see down a track at an upcoming corner, that's completely doable and different from trying to see an airplane or tank a mile away.
Dirt Rally, is it anywhere near as good as RBR? I need to rethread the shaft on my TH8RS, I broke the shift knob right off the shaft and had to reverse the tip of the shaft out of the shift knob.
Dirt Rally, is it anywhere near as good as RBR?
Some people complain to physics, yet I wouldn't until I rally in real life. Still, I find Dirt as challenging as RBR if you want to be fast (except car damage) and really fun, also nice cars, nice stages, online play. Usually after I finish my RBR run I go straight to Dirt as it provides something different yet enjoyable.
dirt rally will be great when they remove that bloody 180 degree wheel animation [editline]15th July 2015[/editline] also as far as i can tell there's no ability to use a clutch pedal

Is there anywhere to buy just the pedals for a G25. Looked around but cant find anything

you can use the t3pa-pro pedals and id rather use paddle shift than the g25/27 h shifter theres also the th8a 7+1 gated shifter/sequential shifter it might seem a lot more than a g27 especially at that discounted price but long term its a better purchase, i kept my faulty g27 rather than return it because its possible to repair and i can use it on my ps3 but the shifter is a piece of shit the pedals are the worst on the market, the ffb is notchy and loud and i think worst of all because of its dual motor design theres a loose centre of about 10 degrees thats really annoying when you need precision
and that brings you to a grand total of like £400-500, the g27 is £159 just buy several racing cars and a track if you have the money the g27 cables are fairly cheap quality so it's a better investment imo [editline]15th July 2015[/editline] :v:
