Is it worth the price of admission?
[del]oh boy, bad news about 5dx+
looks like you can't modify any of the new cars' visuals, even the na1 nsx and countach lp400[/del] ok looks like they do have one
[editline]14th December 2016[/editline]
the new hiroshima is basically kobe 2.0, dangerously narrow with several hazards like roadworks, jumps right before corner, etc

Kinda annoyed how the trees look in blizzard mountain. They look so out of place being that green and not snow covered.
Shit, I didn't realize the Ultimate edition didn't come with the expansion pass.

It's actually pretty similar to what it looks like in the snowfields here in Australia

I know. I paid $150 for it. I feel robbed

New blizzard dlc for fh3 is pretty great so far. Those are just some random pics / videos I took while playing today.

Huh, still the trees in that photo don't stand out as much as the ones in game. They look much more natural

Probably depends on the lighting. That real-life photo isn't on a sunny day.
Probably depends on the lighting. That real-life photo isn't on a sunny day.
Lighting on plants during the winter makes little diference, anything which is vibrant green in the summer but which does not lose its leaves or needles in the winter/cold climates, will always have a bleak washed out color, at least most of the time. The colors fit very well on some of the more snow covered trees in blizzard mountain, but even the trees in the background of the photo does not feel like an eyesore the way the in game ones do.
But at least it's not as bad as some of the trees in steep
I haven't played the expansion so I'm not sure anyways, but you're probably right; there is something off about the graphics in FH3. The sky in particular seems to annoy me for some reason.
Oh yeah, Codemasters released an update for F1 2016 on iOS. It's pretty good now that they've improved the AI to actually be competitive, ironed out some bugs, and polished the graphics. Honestly, all it needs is an option for manual shifting, a replay mode, and multiplayer, and then it would be incredible.
Shit, I didn't realize the Ultimate edition didn't come with the expansion pass.
Guess I'm not gonna be trying it for a while then.

They should have mentioned before release that the ultimate edition didn't come with the lot. Seriously, what is the point of an 'ultimate' edition if it still doesn't get you everything? Have we seriously got to the point that games now have two simultaneous season passes (one for the monthly cars, the other for the expansions)?
In refusing to buy this expansion on principle. I obviously don't expect to always have shit handed to me for free, but come on, I put $150 into pre-ordering FH3 'ultimate' edition.
How do y'all get that free camera replay thing?
How do y'all get that free camera replay thing?
Do something you want to film, rewind as far back as you can/want, pause the replay at the start, hold RT for however much slow-mo you want and press photomode while you're holding it. It should go into photomode with a very slow moving camera (depending on the playback speed you picked).
Record what you want with the free cam in slow-mo and you can speed it up in editing of course.
Oh neat, will have to try that out
Would be cool if there was an actual replay editor ala GTA 4/5 though

Pretty easy to get lost in a blizzard.
Hadn't played Horizon 3 in a while so I thought I'd give it another go with the blizzard expansion.
I can finally use the horn with the steering wheel and they added some extra ffb options (on xbone). No more centre spring
Driving without snow tyres is fun
[editline]15th December 2016[/editline]
Also what cars were given out for challenges, I missed those.
How does the DLC work? Is it all connected or a separate island?
You have to fly in from the airport to get to the snowy lands

someone just got all aerokits for Aventador, they all look similar to the others, but H is a subtle widebody similar to aero G's Viper
As much as I like Horizon 3, I don't see myself paying for the expansion at full price if I have to keep restarting the game every 30 minutes to an hour because of whatever issues the game has. It's the weirdest thing too, because it runs great and is stable for the first 15 minutes of driving.

No one, or at least no one who has the 'ultimate' edition of FH3, should have even bought the expansion in the first place. Shameless cash grab. I think when it comes for my rally fix, I'll stick with Dirt Rally.

Have only just got into the Nissan 300ZX IMSA race car in FM6. What a beast; it powers straight past its competition in career mode, while having as much grip as the rest of them (thanks to some tricky tuning of the tyres, gearing, suspensions and diff). Easy wins against 'unbeatable' AI.
[editline]18th December 2016[/editline]
My list of annoyances that I hope Turn 10 fix for FM7:
- Stalling on the grid when using manual with clutch, on a gamepad. I get why this happens, because there's often too much grip to just dump the clutch and hope for the best. But come on, I don't want to have to either change the gearbox setting to manual, or set a really short first gear. Real-life racing drivers have no problem with launching off of the grid in the same cars, and this isn't a problem in any other game which offers manual with clutch, so why should it be a problem in Forza? Either change the clutch actuation so that it progressively locks (rather than being an immediate open>locked), or have some kind of launch control.
- Manual with clutch in cars which only have paddle shifters. I'd rather not have to change the settings from manual with clutch to manual, every time I change between a manual car and a manumatic car. It doesn't feel right to use manual with clutch when the car has paddle shifters. Other games, such as Project CARS, don't have this problem because they already account for this (so although you're driving manual with clutch, you don't need to actuate the clutch to shift gears in a manumatic) car. Why is it that Forza cannot do the same?
- Scrolling through the car telemetry menus during a race. I do not want to have to wait for a one-second animation for the telemetry to open up (milliseconds matter in racing) just to give me the general information, before I have to switch through tyre telemetry, suspension telemetry, G-forces etc before I get to damage, tyre wear and leftover fuel, on the very last telemetry page. Why can't that very, very important page be either the default telemetry page, or right beside the general info page? Why does it have to be the very last page?
- Cars hugging each other when racing against (and colliding into) the AI, but motherfucking bumper cars when playing online. Seriously, why is it that the cars all bounce off of each other in online races? Why can't the physics be dampened to at least how much it is in offline races? It would actually make public online races become tolerable.
- Motherfucking huge grids in online races. I don't care for 24 player grid sizes in online races. They are guaranteed to turn into a disaster for everyone, except for a lucky few who manage to escape the carnage. Why can't online races have like 6 player grid sizes? It would make matchmaking become faster, the race wouldn't be as laggy, every player would have a reasonable chance for making it to the podium, and players probably wouldn't be assholes as much, because it would be much easier to single out a player in a 6 person race and then report them for unsportsmanlike conduct, than it would be to do so after a 24 person race.
- Awful wheel shopping menu. Wheels (or rims) are one of the last upgrades I do, and I usually shop for them to get the PR rating up or down by a few PR, spot on to the nearest 100. Why can't wheels be sorted by weight, and therefore their contribution to the performance rating? It would be so much easier to find the exact wheel you want, for the exact weight that you want.
- No option for ballasts. Seriously, there are so many cars that, as stock, as slightly too good to compete in a lower class, even if you install a stupid rear wing, or heavier wheels. Why can't we have the option of ballasting the car, to reduce its performance? I've heard that this is something that you can do in GT6.
- The intake sound of most turbocharged cars sound like household vacuum cleaners. It's damn awful and barely like what real turbocharged cars sound like. Also, why does boost always hit a certain point and never vary with RPM? Eg in other games, boost can still build up at high RPMs (albeit not as fast as right after boost kicks in), and can even drop at very high RPMs if the car has a small turbocharger.
I'll probably think of a few more soon, but those are my major frustrations in FM6, which should be easily fixable.

Forza 3 had 8 player races.
Two players would make it to the finish, one or two might get in just before the end of the race, and then half the lobby would get a DNF, pretty much without fail. It sucked.

How are 24 player grids any better then? Because going along with that, one would expect 20 of 24 players to not finish. Except in most online races, probably only a quarter of the lobby does not finish (including people who quit).

It's just a guess, but with the additional players the Dale Earnhardt Jr. wannabes have a harder time weaving their way to the front of the pack where they can burn away the competition without any interference. In Forza 3 with the 8 players, the DNF rate was often close to 50%. In Forza 4 with 16(?) it was more like a 25% rate, as unless they got placed at the front the MLG racers had to spend more time fighting their way to the front, slowing them down.
Is that new?
the car has been around since mt5, without the ability to modify it, and it's international exclusive
5dx enables the customization, and brought the other cars to japan region
