Are there ever any super-super stages in Dirt Rally? In the Open Championship there are only like 6km stages, while in Masters there are several ~12km stages in each rally. Are there like any 24km stages of an entire environment?
No, although Codemasters had tried to make 24km tracks, since Monte Carlo: Col de Turini's long stages do follow eachother up precisely. I remember from a Q&A that they ran into engine limitations when trying to make it one very long stage.
You should add rfactor 2 to the OP seeing as it's apparently the holy grail of sims and doesn't have any lifetime subscription bullshit anymore. Did they fix Dirt Rally or does it still feel like driving a wet noodle?
Man I suck at rally... And the f310 is shit for my hands... Way too small and the triggers are hella tough.

Managing your racing line and aggression to preserve the tires, random mechanical failures like loosing 3rd gear for no reason and having to fight the car to the service, stages so long you have to manage your throttle so you don't cook the engine from all the redlining. And tire choice mattering, for example I was doing a championship where I had to do 2 stages, the first was gravel and the 2nd was snow. So I picked snow tires, and by the end of the first stage the gravel had chewed trough my tires and I didn't make it past inspection. Things like that, I want more of that.

Just out of curiosity, has anyone here ever managed to auction off a Dino 246GT or Ferrari 166MM in Forza Horizon 3? I can't bring myself to simply 'remove car from your garage', and I've managed to auction off literally every other barn find and even lame free cars like the Silvia Club K's and Renault Megane. I've tried putting them up stock, with tasteful colours, or with 5 star designs but they never work. I really hope that the next Forza has a better auction system, where you can choose whatever starting bid you want instead of having a certain minimum with incremental jumps in value of several thousand, and where buyers can bid whatever they want to as long as it's above previous bid/minimum. [editline]26th December 2016[/editline] Speaking of cars, does anyone else think that the cars are really cheap in the Forza series? Like, proper race cars will only cost you several hundred thousand credits, but those same cars in real life can easily cost in the millions (especially LMP cars and the Lotus F1). It's just that I have 54,000,000 credits in FM6 and nothing to use them on (I already have 200ish cars).
anyone here have any experience running nfs porsche unleashed on windows 10? i've gotten the game installed from the original disc, installed the fan patch and the widescreen patch, and i can get into the menus, but the game crashes when i try to load any race. really itching to go back through all the old need for speed games for nostalgia's sake, and this has been a major bummer trying and failing to get it to work.

From what I remember it doesn't have any registry entries and works just fine.
Well, my awesome wife bought me an Oculus Touch for Christmas. As well as being able to use it for its intended purpose, the other reason was to use the second receiver in a dedicated fashion on the rig (I can simply twist this to point in a different direction when using it for Touch purposes). I did need to remove the mounting pole from the stand (hacksaw job) to enable me to do this. Fortunately the rig itself has very little discernible flex or movement in it (largely due to the triple thickness sides and double thickness supporting panels along with various metal supporting braces on the wheel stem), so the operation is great with no wobbling of the receiver. Also thinking about adding an additional, large Buttkicker as well to go with the 4 integrated into this build. Assetto Corsa is fantastic in VR despite the fact the resolution could be better.

I miss the game too. I remember playing it as a 7 year old and beating an EA dev in a race who rage quit after he asked how old I am. :v:

I've seen in WEBMs that Rally Championship 2000 also had some TECHNOLOGY moments in it, such as the electronics of the car short-circuiting when stalling it in a river crossing. Neat little details like that. The one thing I hope Codemasters will put in a future rally game as well, is a more expansive damage model. Right now in Dirt Rally, it's pretty much the radiator in some cars that are fragile as glass, leading to engines getting damaged a lot, and the wheels that are by far the most vital parts of the car, and you'd have to really try wrecking the car to wear down the other parts in normal rallies. Although the Exhaust can get really fragile too once the rear bumper is off, and apparently, it was bugged until a certain patch to increase horsepower once the exhaust was entirely off, instead of decreasing the horsepower then. I haven't seen stuff like the gearbox losing gears or anything like that. Or the suspension/axles being screwed up massively after big crashes, as even in the worst cases, it seems that it stays at wheels popping off instead of the axles getting fucked as well in huge crashes. There have been mods that showed that it is entirely possible to fuck up the axles too on Dirt Rally's engine, but unfortunately, Codies haven't put that in the game itself. Kinda hoped they would put in some sort of ''Hardcore'' difficulty for that. So I hope that in a future rally game, they will have even more harsher damage models, along with tyre choices coming back like in the older games. It would be perfect if they have Rally de Catalunya stages as well then to really make use of that mechanic, since those rally's stages are a mix of tarmac and gravel.

I'm not sure if/how I got NFS5 working since it's been a long time since I tried.
you can change the pixel per display and it looks a bit better, you can do it in the rift sdk but some games let you change it as well
changing the ppd in the rift sdk breaks iracing's ui, i know that much
you can change the ppd in iracings ini, iirc i have it on 2 and it makes my dk2 a lot better but you can go upto 3 if your pc is fast enough
Thanks for the responses regarding ppd - I'd already set that to 1.5 for Assetto Corsa in the oculus.cfg file and it does make a significant difference (running a GTX 1080). I'm sure the next version of the Rift will offer a higher resolution output but I'm certainly not complaining with what I have as the immersion is great. I use the debug tool to set ppd for other software.

how would you arrange it within iracing? hosted races and tournaments cost money, just join the same practice session?
how would you arrange it within iracing? hosted races and tournaments cost money, just join the same practice session?
teams are free to make and hosted sessions are cheap, so if we got enough people (~4-6) we could easily have some small races
i wouldnt mind, depends if people can agree on what to use there seem to be a few skippy drivers here so that might work i think youd get more people to join AC sessions though, i wouldnt mind buying it as i have money in my steam wallet but dont want to buy it just to race the ai
