iRacing announced Formula Renault 2.0 and 3.5 i dont think participation will be that high noone really bothers with the Dallara or Williams
i cannot perform well in oval races it is just beyond my realm of capability
So I just inverted my Fanatec Clubsport Pedals (v.1).
Pros: Heel-toeing is much easier now.
Cons: because I'm now pressing more laterally against the pedals and less downward, I push myself back in my office chair. :downs:
Well... I will try the "chew ring for dogs" solution:
[t]http://www.schwarzbierbude.de/images/fbfiles/images/ringe.jpg[/t] (not sure if image is public)

i cannot perform well in oval races it is just beyond my realm of capability
which class?
which class?
rookie
im a stable driver but my line is shit and my laptimes are always in the 26 region on USA international, haven't tried the others yet
tracks/roads im fine at though
i only managed to set good times in that class in my last couple of races back in s2w12, i left as soon as i had a d licence, a lot of the people in there either cant drive or dont care about incidents and just race it because its the free content
Small request, next Dirt rally league event have like 1 event with rain.I'm asking because rain events tank my frame rate causes some stuttering and for some reason the co-driver starts cutting out.

Great news! Codemasters are back in touch with us via reddit.
Feature requests – We’re in the process of doing another review of the suggestion box to decide what we can do for the next update, annoyingly we’d never be able do everything that’s in there because it’s about 8 games worth of ideas but we are looking at the most popular and in the process of working out what we can realistically get done. We can tell you that in the next update we’re incorporating some more anti-cheat stuff, adding the ability to identify your device as a wheel if it isn’t fully supported yet. You’ll be able to repair a puncture mid stage, remove the drivers arms and steering wheel from view and we hope to get a few more changes in too.

We couldn't allow people to mod in new cars because of licencing
Even liveries on cars (officially supported) causes licensing issues
Custom tracks - we don't have a tool that would enable you guys to make them.
There are somethings that could be done but it seems that every possible way look at incorporating mod support we hit a legal reason why we can't.
It's not off the cards yet but I really can't promise anything.

I used to joke that every time you saw a crashed car at the side of the road it should be Ken's one from DiRT 3 XD.
It would be cool to add some of that stuff and it's one of the things we're considering still. We've a few animals already... maybe we'll add some more ;)

Also,
We don't have any plans for DLC at the moment, it's unlikely we'll do any to be honest.
Fuck yeah.
why would you need licensing for user made content
Also,

I dont know man, I'd buy some more content as DLC. But tbh I'll wait till the game's finished until I decide if this is good or bad.
I would like to see utah or african regions as change of pace to the mud and forest rallies of europe.

Only next season, Monaco event has some snow and is locked.

They might give free updates instead of that.
Are there any decent rally games on PC? I really don't care about Richard Burns Rally, the PS2 had way more fun looking rally games, I don't think I've ever seen a racing game like SHOX on PC.

A lot of people have great things to say about the new DIRT Rally.

It isn't as simple as you think. Codemasters is most likely using technology that they didn't create themselves. Most developers do. Because of that they can't simply hand out an SDK that gives you access to those tools without the owners of said technology allowing it.
The engine is based on tech from Sony's PhyreEngine, so that is probably what is causing a lot of problems.
What are some good racing games for the PSP that I can get off of PSN? Going to be going on a 20 hour flight tomorrow, and since I just dug up my old PSP-3000 I thought I might get some games for it. Is Gran Turismo any good?

Even though it's not a racing "sim", I'd recommend Ridge Racer.

I think there were some burnout ports and WRC ports to the PSP.

Gran Turismo PSP is pretty good. The driving is what you'd expect from the series but there's no career, only arcade mode and the cars you can buy at any given time are pretty random. You get four manufacturers to choose from after each race. There's even b-spec mode :v:
[editline]yes[/editline]
Personally I'd also recommend either of the Rigde Racers. They might be extremely arcadey but they're the best when it comes to PSP driving games

From the post they made they made it seem like the issue was with licensing car brands and race sponsors, not software licensing. It being a software licensing problem makes more sense than what they made it seem like it was.

Bolded makes it seem like the issue is with brand association, because they said they even have trouble getting official liveries into the game. It doesn't sound like a software licensing problem at all.
Italics makes it seem like the cars and liveries didn't have anything to do with software, but the custom tracks has to do with software since that is the only place they mentioned it

Probably a bit of both. Assetto Corsa for example can't have Steam Workshop since people will be uploading cars without the proper license, and since legal teams are retards, they will attack Kunos who simply made the game mod friendly. It is easier to target the developers compared to tracking down a random modder.
So I'm in the process of biting off more than I can chew and subjecting myself to the ire of the entire sim racing community, and I'm curious if I could ask you guys a few things about DIRT Rally since a lot of you guys play it.
What do you guys think are the pros/cons of the game? What do you think about the force feedback and physics?

DiRT Rally just, well, works. Unlike the other sims I have in my library, I didn't have to faff about. I cranked up the graphics (thank you, ego engine), sorted out my deadzones and I haven't needed to adjust the settings since.
There's a lot of cool stuff planned such as RallyX and multiplayer but they're a few months down the line right now, so at the moment all I can say is "a limited experience".

this might be a similar case in how games use RUF instead of porsche, the manufacturer may not want to see their cars being abused or have a 3rd reich livery posted on youtube and reddit.
And from a management position I can see how that makes sense, give the license to the devs and they can treat your products with respect, give it to the community and god knows what they'll do.

Games that aren't made by EA use the RUF because EA has exclusivity on Porsche if I remember correctly. To the point where if you want a Porsche in your game, you don't contact Porsche, you contact EA.

So how much money did Forza-devs pay EA to get Porsches in their games?
Gonna try out Richard Burns Rally on the keyboard.
probably not gonna go well but what the hell
