Been playing Dirt rally lately again, really fun game. Highly recommend it if you are into rallying or just want to try a different type of racing. Its pretty damn brutal at first but really fun in the end.
With DiRT 4, we’ve sought to combine the levels of thrill and realism from last year’s DiRT Rally with the fearless excitement, fun, and adrenaline-fuelled races previously seen in its critically acclaimed prequels DiRT 2 and DiRT 3.
im still getting money from the guys who made project CARS from like over 6 years ago now, this is the 3rd or 4th time, is this meant to be happening? I only gave them €10 and have got more bacl

considering that game is basically abandonware at this point youre lucky.
Not sure if it is totally confirmed but I read somewhere that you can either choose the arcadey physics from Dirt 3 etc or you can have the sim like physics from Dirt Rally so basically it's gonna be Dirt 3 but with the potential for Rally physics I guess. Sounds good to me!
DiRT 4 will resonate with all players regardless of whether they consider themselves an arcade or sim racer. The beauty is that you can choose exactly what type of experience you want to have, and then play the game on your terms. If you want something fun that doesn’t require in-depth knowledge of automotive engineering and vehicle dynamics, then you can just dive into the game and have a great time. If you loved the challenge of DiRT Rally, then you can switch to the Sim Handling mode and have an experience that is even closer to the real deal than we managed to achieve with DiRT Rally.
I'm interested in seeing how this will pan out. I remember watching one of the dev streams where they talked about the new physics for Dirt Rally, and how they tried putting Dirt 3's cars in the narrower, more accurately modeled roads and that didn't work out.
fuck yeaaaaa i loved dirt rally and also 3

Yeah, I really wonder how that would work out too. Hopefully they still have narrow 12+km stages in Dirt 4, or even better, even longer stages than Dirt Rally. I like myself a challenge, and it would be a bloody shame if we go back to the way too wide roads designed to easily pass slower drivers which aren't even barely 6km long like in Dirt 2 and Dirt 3. I wonder how it will all pan out. Hopefully most stages are as challenging as in Dirt Rally, even though I expect some bits being very simple to make up the stages for the casual rookies.
Also, the Steam page for it is up, along with some more details.

In short, the rally series return to Australia, Spain and the USA. Sweden and Wales stay. No Finland or Monte Carlo as of yet. Greece and Germany are gone too. Also, no signs of Pikes Peak Hillclimb. Maybe because Monte Carlo wouldn't show off that new multiple route feature given how rally stages in Monte Carlo tend to be. Same argument could be made for Greece. And car-wise that souped-up Quatro E2 has also been confirmed, so can't wait to see some screenshots of that beast.
The FIA World RallyCross Championship Licence got expanded, as Loheac (France) and Montalegre (Portugal) have been added to the roster trackwise. Also, there seem to be more licenced cars and Rallycross classes as well, as those cars in the screenshot are from the 2016 RX Lite classes, so I wonder how many cars they managed to get the license of in total then. Dirt Rally lacked the Audi cars in the WRX Supercar class, for instance.
Landrush will be like in the other Dirt games, with all its tracks being in America or Mexico.
Joyride seems to be a weird feature, could be great through if you could just set a point to point race on a map and see who is the quickest. Hopefully it isn't as lacking as in Dirt 3.
Dirt Academy is a welcome feature for new players, who asked for something like that in Dirt Rally.
Daily/Weekly/Monthly Challenges are still in too. Wonder if they have split leaderboards for Casual/Arcade Mode and Sim/Dirt Rally Mode.
Service Areas are still in, and hopefully they are even more expanded from Dirt Rally.

918 and Nordschleife produce some great shots!
short video by people who've never played the series before. It's a bit scatter brain, but they do confirm it isn't arcade.

can you disable the ghosting in F12016? i watched a video today and it looks pretty fun
So someone is selling new G920s on EBay for $30. Seriously.
I don't know if it's legit or not, but I guess we'll see.
might as well try it, some of the buyers have pretty decent feedback score so i wouldnt think they were bots
placed an order for one. worst case is its a scam and ebay will just give the money back. thought about ordering two but meh
I'm glad ebay has that protection, otherwise I would not have risked it. Probably my best opportunity to get a wheel.
i just got an email from ebay saying that the seller's account may have been 'compromised', but based on how the price is currently 300 on amazon (and the ebay list price was 30...), this is probably a case of the seller listing them and accidentally a zero, then claiming their account was compromised when people jumped on it
Yup, the listing was killed.
Considering I just sent a payment to "Zhu Hai xia" and the seller was supposed to be french, I'm thinking account was compromised.
In other, better news, I just finished up my Daytona USA car skins for the K&N Impala in iRacing.

so i finally managed to run FH3 devbuild, decided to remake a picture, rendered it in 8K. And later retouched in Lightroom because the original was too underexposed

I wish there were more manufacturer stickers available in horizon 3.
The selection seems so tiny, and i can't be assed to try and re-create logos since i am not good at that.

95% of livery making is making a single logo you'll use once

Well I would also be like that if I found out Im being controlled through 0s and 1s.
I still can't believe that they haven't let you put a helmet on your character, hell, even sunglasses would do. They ruin a great many shots.

Eg I only managed to take these two shots after extreme care in setting up camera angles, lighting etc. Enjoy some Shelbys anyways:

I like making logoes, but re-creating a million real life brand logos isn't a skill i can see myself having i am afraid. Especially considering all the special fonts etc.

Where is this on the map? I might give it a go of copying it but without a driver.
