Are there actually any good pc racing games which feature a crap ton of body kits?
Need for Speed Underground 2 lol, the driving is fun
There's actually a texture mod out there that makes it look decent.

So in FH3 I was browsing my own storefront when I accidentally downloaded one of my own uploaded tunes (so I deleted and un-shared the other version that I had), and now whenever I try to re-share or even delete this tune, the game won't let me because 'Cannot upload selected Tune to Storefront because it is locked'. What the fuck? Why can't I just delete the damn thing that I made myself?
Does anyone know of any way for how I can delete it? Furthermore, why can't sharing things in general just be a painless experience? You get similar problems when you share designs.

So I googled it, and it turns out that this has been an issue in FH3 for at least four months. What the fuck are Playground Games doing?

I think going to the setup manager or upgrades section (either works) will tell you it's locked but also ask you if you'd like to remove it, try that.

Both places are where I've tried to delete the tune. I don't get a message telling me that it's locked. When I try to delete it, I receive the message 'Cannot upload selected Tune to Storefront because it is locked' message. Yes, I get that when I try to delete it.

I've posted a support thread on the official Forza forums but I've got no reply yet
Menus are no longer super duper slow, game runs quite a bit better for me, but I've also since swapped out to a 1070 so it runs perfectly on ultra for me now.
Funny cause I have a 1080 and the performance is pretty mediocre, especially in the city.

Weird, not a CPU issue is it?
I get a solid 60 pretty much everywhere, even in the new snowy areas with the fancy snow deformation.

Surfer's Paradise is a killer, I've taken to naming it Sufferer's Paradise myself. Even on a 6700K at 4GHz with a 980Ti and some fast RAM it kills my performance. I can be running at a capped 72 (which to be fair is quite impressive), but as soon as two or more skyscrapers are in view it tanks to the mid 40s. Try driving down the street with the tram tracks and watch your framerate counter.

I haven't actually been down there in a while, I'll have to try that and see how my FPS handles it
It still seems a lot better than it was on release, where I'd barely be able to sustain 20fps for the 30 minutes between crashes
On XB1 the problem with Surfer's Paradise isn't the graphics
It's the fucking traffic
I'm sick of being t-boned at every single intersection by those stupid drivatars that go around and race each other, and having to weave through the regular traffic which act like morons.
Hell yeah, I got the Austin Mini Cooper S Horizon Edition!
I was having a ton of fun with the standard edtion, it's probably my favorite car in the game performance wise!

I hate Surfer's Paradise because of all the shit laying around everywhere. In MP you have to constantly swerve around all the telephone poles people knock over lest it sap all your speed. Or stay the hell away from the walls because they're full of rogue geometry that will get you stuck.
My game still crashes in Surfer's Paradise if I have Static Geometry on high
Speaking of performance, I can run a capped 30fps on medium with my i5 3470 and XFX 280x 3GB Black Edition. Which is alright-ish I suppose.
Excited for FM7 though! Hope I can run that atleast the same.
I might finally be able to join an AC track day in about a month (if that's still a thing)
I might finally be able to join an AC track day in about a month (if that's still a thing)
it could be a thing, but it isnt really a thing, don't think we've done one for like almost a year soon.
if someone organized one people would probably join, id rather play ac for a bit of fun atm rather than iracing

just drove the lotus exos for a few laps around RBR and had so much fun i was literally was about to come into the thread and ask if anyone would be interested in an AC racing series
id be willing to organize it if people would show up

how much VRAM does your 980Ti have? I have 16GB system ram, 980Ti with 6GB VRAM and a 4770k and i get at an average of around 100FPS in most areas and about 70-80 in surfer's paradise on highest settings and unlocked framerate

6GB, it's one of the top-range factory OC'ed ones. In some benchmarks it's about on par with a Titan X at 1080p so it's not just a dud card affecting FH3.

do you have AA turned on? that may be it, i play with no AA because it just makes games look worse IMO and it destroys performance
how much VRAM does your 980Ti have?
fyi every 980ti has 6gb vram

I use 4xMSAA, but AA doesn't matter at all around Surfer's. No MSAA has the same drops as even 8xMSAA.

Afaik AA matters in any scene, especially cluttered scenes with lots of edges. MSAA is better than SSAA but it's still wayyyy more intensive than modern post processing methods like TXAA, SMAA or FXAA. I'd maybe try running without it and see if it helps at all
fyi every 980ti has 6gb vram
EVGA makes an 8GB 980ti but yeah you're right nothing lower than 6

I meant the drop is the same. If for example I have 70FPS when I have 0xMSAA and I drop to 50FPS in Surfer's, and at 8xMSAA if I had 60FPS and dropped to 40FPS in Surfer's, it's still making me lose 20FPS. The whole game runs slower with AA of course but what I meant was that Surfer's still tanks just as badly.

EDIT: No idea why this posted blank when I typed stuff out.
I meant that AA doesn't affect how much Surfer's causes the game to drop. AA affects my performance overall, but what I meant is that if I lose 20FPS with 8xMSAA in Surfer's, I'll still be losing 20FPS with no AA at all.
