Has there ever been a video game where you can choose more than just the car's paint when you buy or unlock the car? I'm talking about when virtually all manufacturers allow buyers to customise their new car in other ways, such as different wheels (factory, not aftermarket), a different colour and/or pattern of the leather in the interior, and other things such as 'black packs' or 'bright packs', as Jaguar and Morgan offer on some of their cars respectively, for example.
Because I play Forza Horizon 3 and drive around in my Morgan 3 Wheeler, but I'm not happy. It has the paint that I want, and it has the polished exhaust and heat shield that I want. But I'm stuck with the polished cowl instead of having the option of a painted cowl, stuck with the bright pack which I do not like, and stuck with the most-hideous colour of leather. I want my car to look like this:

Instead, it looks like this (ignore the caption):

It's too dirty; any more than three colours (in-game it has willow paint, the brown leather, polished exhaust and heat shield, and black wheels and front-end) looks hideous on any car.

The last game I remember having the ability to give you a choice of different factory options was the Test Drive Unlimited series.
The Crew and Midnight Club: LA had interior options as well
NFS5 Porsche Unleashed allows you to choose interior colors
I remember Import Tuner Challenge having the best interior customization of any racing games even to this day. You can change the steering wheel, seats, decide whether to put the oil temp, water temp or turbo gauge on the A pillar or the dash. The next closest thing would be GTAO's Benny's customization and that's not even primarily a racing game.

Since the Live For Speed devs are still adamant about adding their game to Steam... have they even considered GOG?
[editline]14th April 2017[/editline]
I mean we have both rFactor games (for some, the better game compared to LFS) on Steam now... ffs.

It's a shame that no decent game gives you those options haha.
And speaking of old racing sims, I had no idea that good ol' Street Legal Racing Redline is on Steam too... insta-buy

lfs devs aren't really trying to keep their game alive though.

A damn shame actually. But then again, compared to rFactor's modding community (the NFS mod is amazing), I can make do without LFS.
anyone know if t10/playground/microsoft/whoever can ban you in fh3 for using a probably rule-breaking design on the storefront that you didn't make?

if the lfs devs allowed modding, lfs would be huge.
it still has the best physics of any driving game as far as i've seen, and i don't think you can name many sims or simcades i haven't tried.
[editline]14th April 2017[/editline]
its good enough that i've done 170k+ km on the tiny amount of tracks and cars.
I dunno why but almost every single time I join a hopper in Forza 6 multiplayer, I end up joining a lobby that has literally just started the race, and so I have to wait until they've done their entire race before I can drive. It's so annoying having to wait 10 minutes before you can actually race.
I wish there was some kind of quick-join feature where you can join whichever lobby is still in the intermission stage, regardless of which hopper it is in. I'm sick of wasting time sitting in a lobby and doing nothing.

rFactor 2 is one of the few games that is better; but LFS is damn good, especially with the Oculus Rift. I spent several hours in the city driving servers driving around cars that I otherwise would have hated, and fell in love with them and their simplicity.
i'll admit i haven't tried rfactor 2, but all i've heard is the game is sorta dead.
Installed Horizon 3 again with my G920 Logitech wheel, was there never any force feedback or vibration? It feels super weird.
one of the patches was supposed to improve wheel support but last time i tried it was fucking awful
I can't wait until processing power and VR tech improves in the future. I've been playing Driveclub VR for the past few months, but I went back and put the regular Driveclub disc in the PS4, and the differences are staggering. Through no fault of their own (hardware limitations), Driveclub had went from the best looking racing game of the current generation, to something that looked like early PS3/360 era when they made Driveclub VR.

Plus regular Driveclub has Jags mate JAGS!

Jesus fucking Christ it's happened again
TWICE IN A FUCKING ROW
Horizon isn't a game to be played with wheels even if it supports them. It's too arcadey.
Whoever designed Forza 6's multiplayer needs to be fucking shot. All I want to do is race online, but this game fucking insists on me joining lobbies for races that have literally just begun.
[editline]16th April 2017[/editline]
IT'S HAPPENED A THIRD TIME
Edit:
I gave up and decided to go into FH3 and do stuff there. But I got bored so I went back into FM6. Tried to join a D-class lobby, and when I did: In progress, 'laps complete: 0'. This is an absolute joke. Four times in a row. Why can't this game just put me in a lobby that hasn't started a race yet?

It has a new breath of life. There are new devs behind it now.
Does anyone reckon it would be worth it to buy a PS3 for just Gran Turismo 6? I've been feeling nostalgic about the GT series and although I have GT4 on PS2, I think I've played it to the point that I feel satisfied with the experience. I've only ever played GT3 and GT4, never played GT5 or GT6.
Still irritates me to this day that GT6 wasn't a launch title on PS4, especially considering it was released after the PS4 was released. And tbh Gran Turismo Sport looks pathetic as a Gran Turismo game.
I have no idea what would make me to launch GT5 or GT6 again.
But I wouldn't mind GT1-GT4, especially 1
GT5 is okay, GT6 sucks though.
