I've already got Dirt 4 preordered and preloaded. Can't wait for Friday.
I have heard people worrying about the increased grip and supposed 'dumbing down' of the physics but some of the top Rally players who have got it early say the handling is still better than Rally's. I also saw some discussions on Reddit about this and some amateur drivers said that the amount of sliding in Rally was actually a bit unrealistic and Dirt 4 might have it right. I am still confident that it'll at least be as much of a challenge to drive properly as Rally but I will probably still wait for some user reviews to find out more before I buy it.
Duhh, of course it's more arcade. Everyone knows that less grip = more realism! :downs:
What? Where? Also i enjoyed Drift Spirits, i miss that game
it's named Shutokou Xtreme Mobile or something, looks like it's Japan exclusive
it's named Shutokou Xtreme Mobile or something, looks like it's Japan exclusive
Damn, it looks so much like a bad copy of Drift Spirits, it's so weird
Does dirt 4 have vr at launch? You could get it to work in rally but it wasn't optimized at all and they didn't model the whole interior Same question for F1 2016/17 they look like fun F1 games but I'm not interested in any racing game without vr support Iracing is getting the Ferrari 488 GTE soon
No official VR for Dirt 4 but they said it's a possibility
not sure if i asked this before, but are there any modern racing games that feature this car?
I thought it was in Gran Turismo but apparently not since GT2
there is one in GT2 btw, but it never appeared since GT3 onwards alongside SVX
No official VR for Dirt 4 but they said it's a possibility
It might come a few months after the launch, just like in Dirt Rally. Pretty excited about Dirt 4 though, even if I wonder a bit if the stages are going to be as challenging as in Dirt Rally in general. Gonna miss Greece and Finland though.

The DR one has been dead for a while. With dirt 4 we have the option of arranging a time and doing MP rally/rallycross/trucks. My vote goes to trucks.
FINALLY If anyone else who has FH3 found that they received all of the pre-order cars but could not even select them, Playground Games must have pushed out a fix with the latest DLC. When you select any of the cars, a new pop-up appears asking if you'd like to get rid of it. Thank fucking finally. Some people have had those cars stuck in their garages since October. Cheers, Playground Games. Anyways have a pic of me Dino which I STILL CAN'T AUCTION OFF [t]https://forzamotorsport.net/Handlers/GetPhoto.ashx?game=fh3&id=35051542&full=true[/t] I can't find a decent shade of grey. I wish there was some kind of middle ground between the standard colours and the two-tone colours; the standard greys look too flat on some cars, while any two-tone can look too deep on the same cars. [editline]9th June 2017[/editline] Oh boy. They also fixed the bug where you couldn't delete your own tunes which you accidentally downloaded from your own storefront. Good to know that they have been listening to the community.
Initial impressions with Dirt4, it's fucking weird. There's a "tutorial" race where you drive an R2 fiesta with all the assists on and after that it grades you on your driving and lets you select your difficulty and assists, that felt a bit backwards. Then you're throw in a modern subaru and you're free to roam the dirt academy parking lot, they let you stop playing there or go to a series of tutorials, custom race is now free play and you get paid for winning races but lose money for renting cars you don't own. Tarmac feels much better now, there's a lot more play in the grip it's no longer you have grip or you don't, I was pleasantly surprised at how the ibiza torque steered and slid around corners while maintaining traction it felt a lot more natural. Wales is a performance killer, but the gravel there felt very strange, it was either too much grip or no grip at all and you sliding around corners was a lot harder it seems like the tires have a lot more lateral braking than what DR had. The game is also more demanding on the gpu this time around, I went from all ultra 8xMSAA on DR, to a mix of high and medium and 4xMSAA so I could keep 60+ fps on wales. Group B rally cross is as much fun as it sounds
Group B rally cross is as much fun as it sounds
Is there as much dying and catastrophic fireballs as the real Group B?
Is there as much dying and catastrophic fireballs as the real Group B?
Believe it or not I think the super cars are harder to control than group B. And from my time on MP, super cars have a more people spinning out on the straights for seemingly no reason [sp]I'm one of them[/sp]
Dirt 4 is pleasantly surprising me so far, although I still wonder how much longevity that YourStage system has, and if it doesn't reuse some setpieces too often. What I especially love so far during Rally stages in Single Player, is that there are so many little things that can go wrong mechanically with your car, which is a huge step up from Dirt Rally. There are some smaller things in it too, such as dampers getting damaged, electronics getting damaged, the comms with your co-driver getting garbled up, engine misfiring, stuff like that. And in contrast to Dirt Rally, Dirt 4 actually notes with your time set at the end of the stage of what issues your car had during the stage. It's not just for the AI this time around. Buying a classified/second-hand vehicle is great fun for this too, until you finish a stage and get to see that your new rallying car has like three different little issues at once. So you might as well buy some engineers to go along with buying such a car.
