The graphics in all the gameplay videos look so good they look like cutscenes. I'm worried if I'll be able to even run it.

So I downloaded iRacing since it was on a $9 for 3 month deal and I was curious as to how it played with a controller. Me and a Steam friend joined an MX5 practice session. This was my first ever experience with the game, and I already witnessed something hilarious. Seriously, not even two laps into my first ever session and I see a huge crash that sent my friend airborne: [media]https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bcPyh-So2xI&feature=youtu.be[/media] He was clipped by the yellow car on the corner you see at the start, then bounced from the barrier into the other car.

That reminds me of a time when two of my friends were racing Macau in Race07 on a public server. They went through T2 side by side and none of them would yield. A bit of lag and a crash later they were flying through the air and they managed to collect almost everyone behind them. Someone recorded the replay of the crash and uploaded it to YT. Payments for Project Cars investments went out this morning, thought I'd just let people in here know. Went straight to my PayPal, if you haven't set it up properly you need to add it to your profile on the WMD forum but it might be too late That'll pay for some cs skins and an iRacing track :ok:

So I just did my first official race in iRacing. MX5s around Charlotte Speedway Infield, 20 laps which was around 30 minutes not including warmup. Out of 18 cars I came 6th, had a road rating increase from the default of 2.50 to 2.78, and didn't make contact with a single car. I assume that's quite decent for a first-timer using a controller?

Yeah, I'd say that's decent. And if you haven't already done so, there's a program for iRacing called [URL="http://www.tradingpaints.com/"]Trading Paints[/URL] that's worth downloading. It lets you run totally custom paintjobs, whether you create it yourself, or download something someone else has shared in the [URL="http://tradingpaints.com/showroom"]Showroom[/URL]. It's nice to see the awesome paints some of the other players create (some are also amusingly poorly done).

i wish iracing would put next seasons races up under current series, i wanted to see if the payment from pcars covers the truck stuff i dont have, seems like a massive change this time with both dynamic tracks and v6 tyre model, i was just looking at the pdf and class c DW12 sounds fun but i dont think i own many of the tracks might get the car and try it out during week 13

i just make sure i have enough content so i can race somewhere every week, that way i can just keep playing the game and not having random ass gap weeks on another note the tube frame twisters with like 30 cars is absolute chaos, super fun.

i already own the toyota truck and probably any short ovals i just cant be arsed checking the pdf against the content i have, also as im only doing oval racing i dont mind buying a few tracks each season, it makes the early season expensive but then i can just pick up the cars and do whatever races i want [editline]10th September 2015[/editline] they did an event in the past where they had sprint/silver crown cars on road circuits i wish they would bring that back for the next w13 they both have shit participation but they look really fun

Honestly I never knew how gorgeous Dirt rally can be, getting a new gpu is a real game changer. I just stopped racing and started cruising taking in the scenery and listening to the noise of the car, it was a nice change of pace. is anyone doing the iracing special event this afternoon? i keep thinking about it but i havnt practiced or even driven the dallera before so i dont see it going very well if i do

If you want a sort of comparison, I'd basically been addicted to MGSV when it first came out, but I haven't even touched it since Forza came out.

I'm already playing too, but I have like two people on Xlive friendlist :v: . So if anyone is up to some racing or drifting(still learning though) or doing whatever sometimes add me on xlive I was hoping that some time after a release we could do some facepunch races/leagues or something like that

Just bought Project Cars for the sale, I've played gran turismo for days on my ps2 but what do i need to know to really delve into the sim racing genre with this purchase? Aka how to not drive like an idiot and utilize my car's resources

Also practice, these things come naturally.

Forza 6 is pretty damn good

I played a bunch of Project CARS this morning because of a friend of mine bought a wheel and PCars because it was on sale. At the very least I wanted to see if I could find some good FFB settings because the default is atrocious. For anyone interested, set the FFB to default, raise tire force to 110, then lower steering gain down to 1.0. I have no idea why the steering gain defaults to 3.0 because that’s a completely ridiculous setting. I found this works decently well. It's not great or anything, but it's good enough that I can feel what's going on and a huge improvement over all the default settings. I have such mixed feelings about this game. I'm not going to post [url=http://why485.tumblr.com/post/128947966283/i-have-a-very-difficult-relationship-with-project]my full rant[/url] here because I don't want to take up all this space but the TL;DR is that this game is so frustrating because it gets a lot of little things very right, but totally fucks up just as many important ones. The best I can say is that on the rare occasion that Project CARS actually works as intended, it can be a pretty fun and great experience. However, you have to look past a lot of bullshit to get there. These pics are from a very good 25 minute race I had earlier today on Spa. Nothing went wrong, the netcode didn't fall apart, I didn't get magically thrown 30 feet into the air, and it even let me save the replay at the end of the race this time. It was an intense 3 way race for first with 3 good drivers and a great example of how fun this game can be when it's not all going horribly wrong. It's a really immersive game. Especially the options menus being unavailable in races, which for me is especially annoying as I have an [URL="http://www.iowajohnsons.com/FFBVert/FFBVert.html"]FFB-Vert[/URL] and a gameport MS Sidewinder wheel. It works great (sans FFB) but is prone to a couple of glitches, and I wish I could reset it quickly during a pitstop instead of having to retire the race because of something stupid. I am also looking forward to the new NfS, but I'm worried it will go the way of The Crew...
