Have you tried Joux Plane for AC? http://www.kegetys.fi/joux-plane-v1-5-update-for-assetto-corsa/ It'd be fun to do a hotlap on that with the E30 M3 or something.
wow that was a lot of fun, first attempt in the e30 m3 std: a lot slower than suXin's but I'm on a pad right now will try again tomorrow on my wheel I reckon. what are the rules, can we tweak setups? not sure if you can change gearing on the e30 (doubt it) but if you can I'd like to because you spend 60% of the lap in 2nd, 30% of it in 3rd and the final 10 in 1st and 4th
what are the rules, can we tweak setups?
preferrably not. if you really want to, you have to provide the setup or changes in it, as written on the 'Rules' sheet. anyway you better not change anything now for E30 on Joux Plane, since that would lead to various setups for one car and duplicate times. [editline]14th October 2015[/editline] Also added 'AC VER.' field for track records. even though updates are infrequent, physics may change and that's why the version should be noted.

That tight right hairpin into the bumpy uphill section in the first half is incredibly intense since you can hit like 5th gear before you have to shift down for the wide left turn.

Late now so I can't use my wheel because roommates need to sleep. My biggest problem with Assetto Corsa has been the fact that the force feedback is far far too aggressive, I completely dismissed it on release because it just felt really overpowering and ruined the experience for me. I've played around with it a bit, but can't figure out how to get it just right. I'm using a G27, can anyone recommend some settings that'll give me the feeling of bumps in the road etc - but not rip apart all of the gears inside the wheel when I hit a kerb or start to lose traction? I actually stopped playing Assetto Corsa because it felt like it was breaking my wheel. My desk is partly mounted to one wall which is brick/concrete, and another dividing wall that is plasterboard so it vibrates through the walls. When it's particularly bad you can hear the door start to shake :v:
I had FFB problems on AC with my fanatec wheel as well, it felt fine for me while driving though. It felt way too strong at really low speeds, like when you're doing three point turns on small roads after fishtailing. Felt like you were always dry steering with no power steering assist, even when you're going like 5-10km/h. But it seems to be like that for me on most games, I dunno.

At high speeds in a car that's much lighter than a road car, it's not necessary.

Might just be something in my settings though. :(
Always check to make sure your FFB isn't clipping. That goes for every racing sim. Whenever you're clipping, the wheel is putting out maximum force and you are losing information. At its worst, the FFB will feel like an on/off switch. Most games make it easy to see when it's happening by including a little graph you can look at while playing. In AC you can look at the pedals app. If the fourth bar turns red, you're clipping and need to lower the FFB. Also in Assetto Corsa make sure you turn off the FFB effects. I don't know why they're even there considering the devs suggest you turn them off as well. If you want a more precise guide on what level to see the FFB at, you can use this tool. For the record, here's what I use for my DFGT. Huh, that "Enhanced Understeer Effect" is new. I wonder if that makes the understeer feel like RaceRoom's. [editline]14th October 2015[/editline] Yeah, it does. It feels like RaceRoom's exaggerated, but very useful, understeer FFB.
Oh man new nfs trailer
Goddamn NFS looks pretty. I sure hope it's not permanently wet though lol
does anyone play rfactor 2 at all? I've been looking for a racing game to play, but iRacing is too expensive and I'm not that fast in it.

Not mine, but:
Goddamn NFS looks pretty. I sure hope it's not permanently wet though lol
If this is Ghost Games, then don't be surprised if it's always wet. Whoever wrote the wet car shader was so proud of it that it was permanently applied to all the cars in Rivals no matter where or when you were. You could be out in the desert doing 200mph and your car still looks like it just drove out of a rainstorm.
does anyone play rfactor 2 at all? I've been looking for a racing game to play, but iRacing is too expensive and I'm not that fast in it.
What do want out of rFactor 2? rFactor 2's physics and AI are probably the best in the genre. However, there's very little content for the game, both official and mod, and having to pay an extra $12 just to use the server browser for a year (or $40 lifetime pass) to play online means any kind of pubracing is completely dead. There's some leagues that are starting to convert to rFactor 2, but they're in the minority. The official content base is all over the place. There's next to no cars that are designed to be competitive with each other, so most stock content races would be just single car grids. Like I said though, rFactor 2 has amazing AI and physics. If you're not bothered by a lack of content and don't want to play online, then it has great singleplayer AI racing. If you want to buy it now, use the promo 40OCT15 to get 40% off for the next couple days. It's only valid until the 18th.

I tried it out though and I couldn't even get the cobra around the track in the demo, so I feel like I'd just end up throwing the game away because I can't drive in it.
The new demo is retarded. I don't know what they were thinking, especially now that the C6R is up to spec with new tire model. It's the RaceRoom problem where the content they put out to advertise the game includes only car/track combinations that frankly suck and/or are very difficult to drive. The Cobra is a nightmare to drive, and your only other option is a go kart, and an ill-fitting for track F1 car. The old demo used to have the Corvette C6R and the same F1 car, but on Silverstone. That made a lot more sense and was something that your average simracer would actually drive.
I knew the cobra is supposed to be a handful, but I couldn't even get it to go around corners at 50-60km/h so I was like k den. [editline]15th October 2015[/editline] Might try the kart or the f1 though, maybe it'll work better.
If it makes you feel any better, I can't finish a lap in the Cobra either without spinning out, running into a barrier, or otherwise trashing the lap.
do you know how to make my 900 degree wheel turn 187 degrees for the gokarts without changing it in profiler? Whenever I change it I have to reset my game to get FFB, surely there's a better way to do this.
Goddamn NFS looks pretty. I sure hope it's not permanently wet though lol
In beta I played for about 4 hours... and it was either raining, wet, almost dry, or slightly dawn (for very short period of time)... I don't think there was a moment without puddles on ground, but I may be wrong, or they might change it before release
Actually (and thankfully) the car does dry out in the desert.
Yeah they patched it out at some point, because the last time I played I remember remarking that my car wasn't wet all the time. I could've sworn I wrote that in the original post but I guess I must've erased it.
If anyone's interested I have two gift copies of the The Crew Wild Run Beta. I don't know how I got them but three showed up in my account and I used one for myself. :v:

I bought The Crew for like $10, and I think I got a key for it as well, haven't had a chance to play it. The driving in the base game is pretty bleh, but the exploring & customization is quite fun.
Trying out Wild run Beta now... new car models seem nice [t]https://dl.dropboxusercontent.com/u/23199863/The%20Crew%20Wild%20Run%20Beta2015-10-15-20-42-12.jpg[/t] never owned the original, only beta for that... handling already feels better, especialy with drift spec... I have to try this out in some wood areas though

so this is a thing that exists, visually it looks very dated, but the car selection, hot damn.
so this is a thing that exists, visually it looks very dated, but the car selection, hot damn.
That actually looks pretty damn nice, it just seems that the external camera is very rigid and looks a bit cheap. But yeah, holy shit at that car list indeed.
I'm looking into buying a steering wheel, but the better wheels are way more expensive than I expected. Is there anyone here using the Logitech Driving Force GT? Is it a good wheel to begin with or are there cheaper alternatives?
