Yeah once I got my G27, started sucking at Dirt Rally, but slowly getting used to driving with cluch and H-shifter, and even though my times may be worse, I'm having so much more fun. At the end of the day that is what matters to me - a more immersive experience.
My only win so far in iRacing was with a 360 controller. :saddowns:
i just find those events frustrating particularly the dallera dash you can tell its going to be a shitfest sitting in the pit during warmup hardly anyone has bothered to paint the car and then they cant even launch it during a rolling start
So Dirt Rally is 33% off , if you havent bought it yet, now's your chance before it gets another price bump.

Ah, cool. The main map area is decently sized though, should make for some fun areas.

this is probably HL3 confirmed levels of speculation, but look at the car in the two wheels icon, possibly a quattro s1?
Possibly a hint?

The distance drifted one looks like an S1 Quattro too

Another cool Speedhunters article is up about Need for Speed. I'm really excited for it, it really seems like they care about what they're making and are putting a shit ton of effort into it.
I just started playing dirt rally. This shit is fuckin rad.
[editline]24th October 2015[/editline]
too lazy to play with my wheel right now though, so just using a 360 controller.
e: holy fuckin shit, i just went from a 60s car to a group b car. so much power.
The distance drifted one looks like an S1 Quattro too
It looks more like the Peugeot 405 T16 to be honest.
decided to pull my good old driving force gt out of the depths and buy dirt rally, it's fuckin great
I did some Dirt Rally streaming earlier and had two weird crashes during it. It seemed like my graphics card just gave up.
Speaking about Dirt Rally, anyone else having issues finding any grip or speed at all in the Monte Carlo stages with Ice and Snow in the RWD vehicles with V2 Physics Handling?
It was already hard to find grip on the ice with RWD vehicles with the V1 Physics Handling, but now I feel like that the grip levels there are beneath zero.

Yeah, I can't carry any speed into corners without ridiculous understeer in Monte Carlo. Driving the BMW M3 E30. Hoping someone has had reasonable success in vehicle setup to assist against it and obviously different driving technique? Currently can't enter corners with much speed at all, as soon as I lose traction I can't steer and find it hard to recover, and I know it's standard for RWD but I have to be more smooth with the clutch than on other stages or risk spinning out just under gear changes even on a straight.
started playing grid 1 again recently, so much fun, i love this game so much, especially the drifting
Managed to get into the top ten in the monthly for now. Can't believe I made it that far up after spinning three times and taking a puncture within the first thirty seconds of the second long Monte Carlo stage.

Yep, even in good weather every class feels on edge through the tarmac sections now, and snow is almost full course ice levels. Even with rwd I find myself relying on the handbrake and clutch kicks an awful lot to make it through.
But that's okay, countersteer and powerrrr is more fun anyways.
I only just found out the game is delayed until next year on PC. If I had known this I would never of pre-ordered.. I thought I was going to be playing next week.

nice, love the look of those cars.

Monte Carlo took me a couple hours to get the hang of but I've been finishing in the top 3 for almost every stage with 70's cars. I've found it's best to slow down earlier and as straight as possible then turn in slowly towards the apex while giving almost no gas. It seems with the ice/snow parts, especially the downhill sections, being smooth pays way more than sliding and gunning it.

Yeah, same here. I can't really justify spending all that money on a new wheel when the one I have now is perfectly fine

Not to mention I'm not bored of GT6 yet, and I imagine GTS is going to be basically the same game but with a championship system for GT races.
It probably won't be out until 2019 anyway
