ai probably gets speed hacks to keep the race interesting. happens in a lot of games
Bullshit, like that's going to balanced at all. Most likely it'll be less rubber banding and the Ai will press the accelerator all the way instead of deliberately slowing down for the player.

They don't do it for the AI to win, they do it to make you think that you won by a close margin rather than a fucking landslide. sure there are games out there that don't give a shit about your feelings, but need for speed isn't one of them. It will try and give you a sense of accomplishment like it was meant to. I don't remember actually losing races in NFS games back in the day, all I can remember i either winning (a majority of the time) or having the ability to restart, because winning was the only option when it comes to progression.
the gran turismo series is great for winning by a whole lap or losing horribly in your underpowered car on the other hand, split/second has to have the absolute worst catch-up AI i've ever seen in a game. worse than mario kart. neither are simulators, but fuck those games so hard
[t]http://jesusfuck.me/di/XANE/screenshot-original.png[/t] Totally can't tell I prefer Japanese cars or anything. Both Skyline and Supra run 1,000 wheel horse power though.
Finished Wales event quite clean, only had epic barrel roll on SS1 (which I forgot to record) and some outs on last SSes.
So I just found out there are animals in Dirt Rally. Was driving at 100+ mph down a straight on Germany at night and a fucking deer, illuminated by my headlights, bolted across the road. I nearly shit my pants. It was totally unexpected to see anything moving in that game that wasn't my car or the terrain whipping past.
For some reason i can't use my wheel in dirt rally anymore. The game says it's pointing 40% to the right even tough it's centered
Well this is dissapointing
That's what they call the "RICHEST CUSTOMIZATION IN A NFS GAME EVER" ? Oh come on, even GTA V has a much better selection of visual parts per car and the car customization is pretty fucking far from being GTA V's main selling point. i don't think they tried at all scratch that, i think they really wanted to try, but EA realized that if they keep it up the finished product won't be absolute shit like everything else they're involved in and stepped in to change that
Reminder that you have 1 day to get a time down for the league. Also reminder to practice so shit like this doesnt happen. [vid]https://my.mixtape.moe/dahnna.webm[/vid]

NFS was such a big letdown. No manual, cars drive like hole, sliding is faster than grip, and the game literally does everything for you. It's just a stanceboy game. [editline]19th November 2015[/editline] Also they could've really taken the cake and had first person interiors for the cars with a shitload of customizing, like aftermarket gauges, rollcages, steering wheels, full race interiors, fuck. No game has done this yet either.
Practice is cheaters [editline]19th November 2015[/editline] This time I actually tried to practice but crashed like 5 times in a row in the same corner 1km in to the first stage and decided, yep, I'm ready

NFS is by no means perfect, but it's a step in the right direction after many years of EA messing with the franchise.
Welp, that was a Dirt Rally league event to forget quickly. Somehow rolled and got stuck on those little ridges every single stage until halfway through the first long stage, I hit a little ridge on that one fast section there and the car went full Peter Dumbreck at the 1999 Le Mans and went airborne badly. The difference was that the car in my case did crash in a full line of trees instead of an open spot, which means it totally obliterated my car instantly. The impact managed to take three entire wheels off. Needless to say, that was an DNF right there. :tableflip:
Struggled this week. Had two good stages in me then the mistakes started racking up. Probably should've played with the upgraded car a bit more since all the extra power was just sending it deep and wide. I wish there was an option to disable the mouse entirely again though. Drove straight through a bloody fence because it popped up in the middle of a run. So annoying.
Peter Dumbreck at the 1999 Le Mans
For those unaware and lazy: I guess you could say it was a... Dumb Reck. [sp]I'll see myself out[/sp]
Wales is such bullshit, I took it extremely carefully because I knew that once you touch the sides of the road you will find yourself in the forest, unable to get back up
Wales is such bullshit, I took it extremely carefully because I knew that once you touch the sides of the road you will find yourself in the forest, unable to get back up
They really need to fix the small heap of gravel being stronger than adamantium thing.
fuck these events, they're impossible to win, unless you sacrifice some money
funny, i went smoothly without spending any money at all, you just need to repeat several races for parts
a lot of cool stuff coming to iracing http://www.iracing.com/the-seasons-end-and-half-life-3-confirmed/
The crew got a update btw, looks a bit better now. https://www.reddit.com/r/The_Crew/comments/3t18en/wild_run_patch_notes/

WOuld you guys be ok with starting a new league event or do you wanna finish this one first?
WOuld you guys be ok with starting a new league event or do you wanna finish this one first?
We should finish it, otherwise why would you even create it. You may shorten event duration though if that's possible.
yeah i dont see the point of leagues if you just end them cuz you want to
Meanwhile finished Greece and it was really bad compared to previous events. Barrel roll, tire puncutre, an out, hairpin issues, one more out, resulting in 40+ seconds of mistakes. Try to do it clean and you'll win.
I know I'm a month late but I was banned at the time, but can I just say how disappointing the Japanese car DLC for Project Cars is? Great, there are two new Lancer Evos, but the game already had one, so those two don't seem particularly interesting. The Toyota 86 and its GT4 equivalents are also okay, except for they make up half of the DLC and the GT4 versions aren't competitive against the other GT4 cars. The TS040 is also okay, but I mean it might as well just be a re-skin as all the LMP1 cars look and drive similarly. But my problem is all of the missed opportunities for a 'Japanese car pack'. They could have had the Subaru WRX STI going against the Evo X and BMW 1M, As the older Impreza WRX STIs are eligible for, in Group E racing in Australia. They could have had the Skyline R32 GT-R, which competed in Group A in Australia and Japan. I suppose the R32 would dominate in-game, as it did in real life (it was one of the reasons why Group A died lmao, it wasn't called Godzilla for no reason) but they could have still used the relatively tame HR31 GTS-R, which was also built for Group A. In Group A they could have also had the Toyota Supra Turbo-A, which also competed in Australia and Japan and iirc even Germany, yeah it wasn't super-competitive but it was still an outright car and managed a few podiums. There's also the outright Mitsubishi Starion turbo. And then there's also missed opportunity in Group GT3. There's obviously the GT-R Nismo GT3, but there are also others like the Lexus RC-F GT3. The point is that the DLC is just so disappointing. Wow, two Evos, some 86s and a LMP1 car, so interesting. [editline]22nd November 2015[/editline] Sorry for the wall o text lmao
