SimRacing General: successor to Forza/Gran Turismo/Racing thread - Games

In the middle of the current event for the league.. I drove as hard as I fucking could on this stage and didn't crash at all, and somehow i am 50 something seconds down from the person in the lead. Fucking unbelievable. Sure I've never driven the car before and have no upgrades, but a MINUTE down? Ugh. Guess I have a lot to improve on.

I realized after I finished Germany that I not only don't own an upgraded Evo but I don't even own an Evo hahaha. I guess I better get on that, the next event is tomorrow right?

I had 3/4 upgrades on my Evo, but IIRC the league events should count towards upgrading the cars as well, so for the last event I should have it fully upgraded.

Out of curiosity what does everyone drive in real life? Anyone do any real racing? I've only done AutoX with my SCCA Region but I just bought this MR2 to do some HPDE's and hopefully time trial in the future with NASA! FB's are awesome, not a huge aftermarket which sorta blows but technotoytuning has started making some good bits recently. My FB is my baby so I don't see it doing anything more rigorous than AutoX. That E36 is gorgeous, do you race in any series?

DNRT in the Netherlands. It's the highest you can go without going pro really. (Although there are some pro teams in there which sucks, they blow like 20k's worth of money over a single race where the rest of us are just scraping by, oh well :v:) Also Zomeravondcompetitie, it's a Dutch thing that lasts all year long. Not very competitive, but very fun!

Forza 6 is getting to R3E levels of "cars that are relatively obscure now but awesome as fuck" with its DLCs. Loving it. Might as well have a bit of picspam since there haven't been a great deal of game pics lately. I might pick this up for my niece since she used to love messing around in 3/4 and she has an XBO now but I don't want her to have to buy all these car packs at $10 a piece or whatever.

I've been playing so much Monaco and Germany in Dirt Rally that I forgot how to handle loose surface haha, I ate it in Finland pretty quick. Is this the last event of our league championship thing?

no fucking way is dirt ready to leave early access, it needs serious optimization, example of what i mean no aa dk2 about 20fps high preset is about 40 barely gets 75 on vlow and looks like a 10 year old game, this is with a 970 that can get over 150 fps using a dk2 in iracing with max settings and a 20 car grid

The rest of the game is one of the most optimised I've ever seen. I use a 144Hz monitor and it's the only game from 2015 that frequently maxes it out at 1080p/max/single GPU.

i tried it again and the ground cover setting really destroys the fps especially on germany where it cost 25fps even on low

Had a bad day in RBR - 2 calls for help at the same place [B]on the last stage[/B]. after that went for Dirt Finland which went not that bad, only with two major crashes and overall slow, [B]until the last stage[/B] where I lost my tire near the beginning and dumped a spectator near finish, fuck this. Once again I realise that I'll never be 10/10 great at rally because I'm too careful and afraid to push, despite that it might provide stability, there are still people who are stable and overall faster than me, which frustrates me.
