A friend convinced me to buy 3 months of iracing... I think I spent close to 10 hours on it yesterday and I don't know how I feel about it.

having looked at the series pdf properly im not really that enthusiastic about b fixed, its 70% 1m tracks at that length id rather drive the late model, i might just do the races required for the mpr then take part in another series to get the a licence

Also in the next league could whoever sets it up make it possible to reset the whole event? Not single stages, but the whole event. That would at least give a chance to restart if you seriously fuck up, but you still have to put in the effort for the entire even rather than just restarting a single stage over and over

Also, it would be a good thing if it is with the owned career vehicles option disabled, to ensure a more level playing-field instead of having the guys who don't play as much being 50hp down on the rest.

Netcode has always been a problem in Assetto Corsa but the latest patch seems to have really fixed it this time. Nobody teleported into anybody and I was racing side by side with a guy with 250 ping and we tapped each other a couple times without it suddenly sending us flying into the wall at 300mph.

I'd still consider that hotlapping, I'm fine with this if the event is only 1-2 stages long.

saw this on SA, figured i would post it here too. It informed me of the error of my ways when it comes to clutch kicking. Also hadn't considered braking while still on the accelerator to transfer weight cuz i am a silly billy.

New league event starts today at midnight, and it will be featuring 14 stages in finland and wales with 2 surprise stages at the end to add a bit of Christmas spirit, everyone will have 2 weeks to get a time down, so no rush enjoy your Christmas breaks.
But since I'm a sadistic bastard you'll be able to use either the 80's cars or the kit cars, but not sadistic enough to not allow event retries, couldn't seem to find the option to disable owned cars

It's completely OK with the controller. I just won the Elite championship and going strong on Masters with my 360 pad.

after playing with a wheel and having circumstances that have made me only able to play with a controller (the shitty plastic optical encoder cracked in my g27, gotta wait 2-4 weeks for the $38 replacement to arrive) it's pretty fucking hard to play with a controller. You have no feedback of what is going on with the car's grip at all beyond visual info. You can correct faster, because you just flip a stick rather than turn a wheel, but that also means that you also input faster in general, not just with corrections, but with every input.
You can certainly play it with a controller, but I'd say certain classes are nearly impossible (RWD), and others (4WD) are just really fuckin difficult.
still, in one of the leagues I play in it says some people are playing with a controller rather than a wheel, like i was at the time, and it says they are faster than me. So it is still possible.
I guess, like most things, it's a matter of preference and adjusting to it.

I disagree about this point. Controller vibrates when one or more wheels are skipping, which is a godsend. [B]Bugga12[/B], I wasn't saying that it's better with a controller, of course, but only that it's not bad (Like dark souls with keyboard and mouse bad).
All the vibration tells me is what the engine revs are at, and when the wheels are sliding, it is helpful to know when they are sliding, but you can't really tell what kind of sliding it is until it is too late. Good sliding, (your car is sideways, but you are still in control, your slide is actually helping you maintain control through the turn), or bad sliding (Your front end isn't in control [understeer] or your rear end isn't in control [oversteer, have fun shifting into reverse on your sequential controller to turn back around, unless you are driving automatic])
I just really don't like the driving in this game with a controller, but I am very biased since I have actually played with a FFB wheel, and know that it is actually way better.

I'm really not sure about [B]three[/B] classes in today's league event because we don't have much people, unless these classes gonna be somewhat competitive.
