GRIP is on Steam EA now
Going to wait a bit to see how reviews shake out and if it's good enough to buy during Early Access but I'm really excited to play notRollcage.
Steam EA
man i thought you were making a joke about Origin, guess it stands for early access though. at first i thought you were saying like a regional steam like east asia, then i was like wait maybe he means Origin, then I googled it cuz i didn't want to open up origin and wait for it to patch
Dirt Rally Lancia Appreciation Week starts in the next 2 hours. First half is Group B 037 and the second is Stratos, prepare to die.
we've got service after every stage though.

sfafasffsaaaaah. Thought I had it after finally opening up a little gap on Germany too.
nice, and I thought I had near perfect run
but still, had a little tail-crash on germany, and finland stages went somewhat slow because of me being careful, but wales was so good - got 14 place in the world.
I suffered a puncture early on in wales, which caused me the get another puncture not much later, had to repair one tire and limp it to finish. Then first finland stage my computer started shitting itself and I got huge frame drops like every 500 meters which caused me to go all over the place

I want to know what kind of super-gravel they use in wales that it can cause a car go flying like that

well I spoke too soon, the world's best engineers can't unwrap cars from trees apparently. thank god I don't drive irl
So... doesn't anyone here ever played Sebastien Loeb Rally Evo?
If so, what do you think?

It's one of the few games I've written a Steam review for (to clarify some misconceptions that people were posting negatively), so I'll paste it here:
It's a great game if you don't expect a hardcore sim out of it. It's a fantastic simcade title with an amazing variety of cars. I definitely recommend it.
Pros:
- Car variety. Plenty of cars and tons that aren't normally in rally games (Peugeot 504? BMW 2002? Delta 8V instead of HF Integrale? Hell yeah)
- Tracks are fast, long and narrow
- Weather and night time races
- Driving feels rather nice (again, if you go into it EXPECTING what it is)
- Dashboard camera view
- Very nice environment detail
Cons:
- Daytime/weather aren't dynamic but pre-baked
- Chase cam and interior view are a bit weird, dashcam is great though
- Crashes are very forgiving
- Cars look a bit inconsistent compared to environments but nothing major
TL;DR: Great rally game, isn't a rally sim. Don't expect a DiRT Rally competitor but expect just a decent rally game with a fantastic car list.
Ahaha, that last stage on the Facepunch league is nigh impossible to do well with a 360 controller. Once you hit those ice patches and ice in general the pace slows to a crawl if you don't want to meet trees/walls.

Invalid, not a Lancia 037. :v:

On a more serious note, did he not have any sort of mechanical failure there? I don't feel like Loeb would go THAT slow.
[editline]4th February 2016[/editline]
Oh, he speeds up shortly after, must've been a specially slippery zone. But my problem in Dirt with a controller is that the return rate is pretty slow, and making short fast corrections is pretty hard.
goddamn i never like blueprint collecting in this game

Lately I’ve been messing around with Race 07. It’s the predecessor to both RaceRoom (I love) and Project CARS (I love/hate, but mostly hate), so it has a lot of the things I like in both of those games.
The AI is surprisingly fun to play against. Usually I don’t care for racing sim AI but something about them just really works for me. They’re fast, but I don’t get the impression they cheat to be fast, and I like how they screw up sometimes. I’m currently playing through a championship with a GT Viper and it’s great fun.
There’s a lot of little things that I like about Race 07. It just feels like a really cohesive and polished experience in a way that most racing sims absolutely aren't. Although if there's one thing I really wish it had, it would be a dynamic time of day so you could set up races that start in the morning or end at night.
It’s also pretty sweet to run a game at a rock solid 144fps.
New event's up for NFS No Limits, they seem to have implemented a new currency for this event which can be earned by driving dangerously, rewards range from event credits to blueprints

They tweaked the Tournaments, less tickets, but faster recharge.
Also, this.

Hello! Me and my younger brother share an Xbone, I bought Forza 6 and he got NFS2015. Add RedStar93 if you want a friend who barely has time to play, is bad at racing games, and doesn't even own a wheel

But I'm terrible at any of them. And also don't own a wheel myself but controller does just fine on Forza.

I know, but I used to play Forza 3 with a bunch of people from here (I think they're all banned now :v:) and there was a clear divide between the people with wheels and people with gamepads.
At least now I can handle cockpit view.
Man, I wish Forza was on PC. Kinda wanna buy a Xbone for Forza 6/FH2 (I mean, I bought a 360 solely for Forza too) but gaming on my TV is just really uncomfortable for me. It's at an odd angle, my TV has a worse display than my monitor and i'm pretty far away from it so I have to focus pretty well to see everything which causes a bit of eyestrain. Boo.

I would love to have a Gran Turismo or Forza for the PC, unfortunately they will stay exclusive to console. Anything similar to these titles that are available on PC other than Project Cars?

I too would like to know this. My mate recommended PC but the steam reviews say it's really buggy which is offputting.
The T300RS is on sale right now for a hundred dollars off on Newegg at "only" $300.

That's a good enough price for me to justify upgrading from my old DFGT.
Finished Stratos event, reminded myself that it's basically a baby 037 but still I fucked up more than on 037: obligatory snowbanks spins and also a shameful flip on Monaco, another spin on Finland.
I believe I lost about 30 seconds because of these.
If I hadn't spun it on Germany I could've won.. Oh well.
So I got a DFGT for a decent price and it arrived today. No idea what I'm doing with it but I'm already excited.

Does rally have the Codemasters rewind feature?
Does rally have the Codemasters rewind feature?
No, but it has a replay feature.
Just picked up FH2 and Forza 6 if anyone wants to add me (MidwestOwl on XBL). Haven't gotten to Forza 6 yet but FH2 is damn fun.
I'll add you, I only have Forza 6 though but it's good fun.
