Screwed up my gamertag in my post, it's actually MidwesternOwl.
Oh, well fuck lmao I'll unfollow that account and add yours.
I'll add you too, even though I only have Forza 6
I got a T300RS today and wanted to mention a few things not often talked about that were important to me. In case anybody has ever wondered how the T300RS and DFGT compare in size, I took these photos.

Size was a big concern of mine getting the wheel, but it ended up working in my favor. The DFGT is much slimmer, both in weight and overall size, but it was a lot wider because of that stick on the side. The T300, while being much bulkier, is not as wide as the DFGT, which worked out super good for me because now there's enough space for me to just slide it off to the side versus having to unclamp it and put it somewhere else.
The clamp on the T300 is also very good and grabs much tighter than the DFGT clamps did. I had concerns that my desk would be too thick for the afterthought looking clamp to work right. My desk is fairly thick (almost 2"), so if you were looking at one of these and wanted to desk mount it, you should be fine.

I'm so glad Need for speed finally has a full photo mode. I wish there was more options, like in Forza, but it's a good start.
Also, Need for Speed is most likely, finally getting a manual mode.

Yeah, the Xbox capture is pretty low res. That's another thing the snapshot pro needs, an upload feature. :v:

How did it capture at that res? Surely just hiding the interface and screenshotting through the Xbox will be full res?

Huh, I guess Tumblr downsized it. I updated the post with the full res pics. :v:
They just released a trailer for NFS's PC version and it all looks pretty good.

I haven't kept up with the game since it got originally released. Have they added more physical customization options or is there still only choice between two sets of bumpers?

I was just about to come post that. It's amazing what the higher resolution and unlocked framerate does for the game. They have, they've put a good amount of new content out for customization the past few updates. They added new stuff for the 180sx but didn't add the Odyvia kit, which I'm still really bummed about. They have the spirit Rei license, why wouldn't they?

imo the clamp is poor at best especially with a larger diameter wheel, i have a 350mm wheel on my t500 but even with the thrustmaster rims it works itself loose on the right hand side
what driver settings are you using? the default master gain setting is usually linear although the more you turn it down the more detailed the ffb is, if you want i can post the wheelcheck app from the iracing forum
speaking of nfs, we got a leak of the upcoming update for no limits

I've been doing a lot of tests with... complicated results. I'm just going to quote myself from the Assetto Corsa forums because I hate having to log in to read them.
I just got a new T300RS and did the same wheel check tests I did back when I had my DFGT. While the T300RS is certainly smoother and quicker, I notice that I don't feel the small bumps as much as I used to. Looking at my graphs, I think I understand why.
I've always thought it was pretty interesting that my old second hand DFGT had no apparent deadzone, and now it seems I've come across the complete opposite situation. The brand new T300RS has a dead zone big enough to drive a city bus through at ~20%! Did I just get a lemon of a wheel? What's going on here?
The purple line is my old DFGT. The rest of the lines are the T300RS with various settings.

This is really confusing. So I re-ran the tests today after a fresh boot and got really good graphs that match up with what I see most T300RSs looking like. They have a deadzone around the 8-12% area.
[t]http://i.imgur.com/oaX7ZtJ.png[/t]
However, after continually running the tests, they started to look like crap again with the massive deadzone.
[t]http://i.imgur.com/44LFBtz.png[/t]
I noticed that by flipping the PS3/PS4 switch (doesn't matter which position it ends up in, long as it was moved), I was able to "reset" the wheel back to the smaller deadzones. It seems like if you tweak the values in the control panel too much the dead zone just goes to shit after a while. That's the best theory I can come up with.
This whole thing is very strange. I think I'll just get into the habit of flicking the switch a couple times before I play something and leaving the gain at 85%, because that seems to be a decent sweet spot. I noticed too that even after flicking the switch, anything 70% or lower becomes useless no matter what I do.
I have mixed feelings on the wheel overall. While I would say it's an improvement in many ways over my old DFGT, there are a few things that I think the cheap DFGT did better. I actually have a lot to say on the subject but I don't want to type it all out right now.
I will say though that Assetto Corsa feels like a completely different game now in a very bad way. Everything I loved about its FFB on my DFGT is gone. Meanwhile R3E is a completely different game in a mind bogglingly good way. I've never had this much fun in R3E before. It just feels so good and so different from what I remember.

i think youl get used to the feedback any belt or direct wheel will be smoother than a dfgt/25/27 really alot of the feedback you get with those wheels is just noise from the gear, i dont think there should be any deadzone although im not certain because i have a t500

According to the graphs I've seen, T500s tends to have a 4-8% FFB deadzone depending on the settings, so they're pretty good and tighter than T300RS.
The only wheels I saw in that thread that consistently have zero deadzone at all are stuff in the >$1000 range and the DFGT for some bizarre reason. All the other DFGT graphs posted in that AC thread were like mine, which spawned a few confused comments.

Also man, I really like RaceRoom but the pay model really pisses me off and I still maintain that it's the single biggest thing holding that game back from expanding and actually getting the player counts it deserves.
Oh man FH2 is fantastic. I've had more fun playing that than any other racing game yet. Haven't gotten to Forza 6 though. Are we due for a new Horizon this year?
In terms of consoles at least, Horizon 2 is the best game this gen. And yeah, it's not confirmed, but looking at the pattern of previous games Horizon 3 should be this year.
Y'know, The Crew actually isn't too terrible.

If the driving was better (and thus people played it more and so it would have gotten more content updates maybe) it would probably be a pretty good game.
But they made the worse mistake a driving game can make, not having great driving.
auto modellista is somewhat an okay game, better if they tweaked its lousy handling, makes touge events a pain
but then, you got this car ingame

pretty neat for being cel-shaded back in 2003, cars got quite nice visual mods, despite only 2 models for each part

I had the same problem with Test Drive. I loved Test Drive Unlimited. You had the freedom of a huge island, the car collection and garage aspect of it, and the real life scale of the whole thing just made it really immersive in a weird way.
Except the driving sucked ass. It was terrible. It was one of those things that I just put up with because I loved the rest of the game so much, but I really wish the driving didn't feel so bad. I think I'll eventually get The Crew though, because it seems like everything I liked about TDU, but unfortunately sharing its flaws.

I felt the driving in TDU1 was ok'ish, at least in HC mode with no driving aids. Spent 4(!) years playing that game - mostly cruising around in the 1971 Dodge Challenger while listening to the soundtrack from Vanishing Point, and randomly street-racing players with more performant cars. Had some cool encounters with players too - I remember discussing world politics with some Swedish dudes at a gas station. Good memories.
Got The Crew a while back and uninstalled it. The driving is bad and unresponsive, and the dwarfed-down version of the USA just didn't work for me.
I applied for the Facepunch Dirt Rally league under the name TomDW, can anybody accept me?

I caved in and bought the Forza 6 Car Pass because I feel it's worth it
Cadillac Limo and Pontiac Aztek, aw yeahhh :vs:
