How come I'm always spinning out even if I don't touch the steering in race room when I'm using controller?
too much throttle, or braking, while turning, or too much throttle coming out of a turn
Never played race room, but the same thing happens in any situation with a vehicle with enough power to break traction just with the throttle, even from a straight line or from a stop.
I'm such a nobbo. Literally for the past 3 monthly rallies in a row I have totalled my car 4 stages in. For the first 2 I was reminding myself that for the monthlies it's about getting to the end more than getting there quickly and set an ok pace while driving carefully. 3rd I got a bit cocky and took a few risks, then on the 4th had a dumb crash because I went like 100mph round a right 3 and into a rock.
Good times :suicide:
Damn I've got no pace when it comes to Kitcars. Only had one real slip up (~10 seconds from hitting a wall), but still consistently lost around 4-6 seconds a stage.
It didn't surprise me around Germany/Monaco, but I really didn't expect being slower on gravel as well.

I was rather on the pace as well, although I always ended up second or third on most stages except the first one by a few seconds.
Then Sweden came around, lost 16 seconds there since I cannot drive on Ice and Snow worth a damn, and then I went on to be insanely off the pace at Wales, 20 seconds off Hosenfuhrer even without crashing. Sure, I've had a few bumps and moments of massive understeer, but really, I just couldn't find any speed with the 306 Maxi on that stage somehow. Might check it in a practise event if I fucked up with the car set-up, as I just couldn't get any speed out of the car at all for that one stage. On the last two stages, I made up some seconds, but that was just enough for 3rd place after suXin lost a full minute on the final stage. Maybe I should have picked the Ibiza after all, since I seem way quicker with that on gravel.

Yeah, that's more like what I expected. The Maxi is quick, but unforgiving and sits way too close to the ground for comfort. I thought for sure come Finland I'd be flying past after everyone else wrecked out, but I ended up being 5 seconds down. Wales too. Sweden I could've maybe had a solid crack at but I'd never driven Kitcar there before (oops).
Maybe I shouldn't have fiddled with the gearing so much. Or we have a growing alien population here. Need to start practising on Dailys again, damn.
Until the next Dirt Rally update I'm making these events:
Week 1 - Quattro vs. 037, don't care about balance. 6 long stages on each country.
Week 2 - 70s random 8 stages
Week 3 - Kit cars on 6 Finland stages without service rip
Week 4 - 10s random 8 stages (I want to try the Polo)
I'm not going to put this in one season because the site sucks shit and takes ages to make it like that.
The first week event starts in a few hours.
so i bought Origin Access, while i'll wait for Thursday when NFS 10 hour tryouts begin, gonna try out NFS Rivals
bump because NFS is out for origin access
ayy check out ridge racer v man

Bought SLRE hoping that I could live with the bugs. I can't. Don't even know how to exit the game without Alt-F4ing because you can't use the keyboard if you are using your wheel, on top of other errors, but that is the worst one for me. Why did I even give Milestone a chance.
Back to Dirt Rally. I want to check out Automobilista too but I'm only interested in point to point stuff so I doubt I'll pick it up.
tested it out, and it runs flawlessly

Can confirm, NFS is an utterly amazing PC port. Not a huge deal of settings (and only shitty FXAA/TAA for antialiasing) but the performance is ridiculous. Runs at around 30-45FPS at 4K depending on the scene and around 100-120 at 1080.
Have some shots downsampled from 4K>1080.

Interestingly the Snapshot Pro feature doesn't seem to be there right now, so they're only gameplay angles.
By far the best looking racing game so far.
It definitely looks amazing. EA has that going for their games, which is nice. :v:
its sad that we got to play a earlier build instead of the current one
also this game has so many fails/glitches that i even recorded 4 videos

The sensation of speed seems messed up, like the speedo is actually lying.

Motion blur is disabled in that video which is probably why. Racing games look weird without motion blur.
can you only play at night time when it is wet
can you only play at night time when it is wet
Depending on which part of the city you're in, you can be at sunset when it's wet, night when it's wet, darker night when it's wet, early morning when it's wet, or dawn when it's wet.
So yes.

I play a bunch of racing games with motion blur off and none of them look like the car is moving that slow at 200 km/h
On PS4 I think they added a not wet weather
I swear there was at least one time where I noticed that there wasn't rain droplets on my Miata.

Exlusive PS4 bonus content! Play the game without everything being wet!
Has the update for iracing been released yet? I'm out of the country so I can't log in to check, was interested if they were still doing dx11 and updating the oculus runtime
How are the GRID-series games? I'm considering the Autosport one since it's on sale in steam as well as other GRID-titles.
Also the Dirt-series is on sale as well.

Autosport still has arcadey physics, but it's the most authentic racing game I've ever seen in terms of the actual experience.
The fact that you can play HUDless and use the DPad directions to hear race info (tires, AI positions, your position, etc) from your pit crew probably says enough.
GRID - Very arcade, doesn't really feel that right when playing with a wheel. Still fun though. Dirt 2/3 has pretty amazing force feedback for which I love the games. Don't even think about playing showdown. Don't know about dirt 1, I tried it few times but couldn't get it to feel right.
First GRID is great and somewhat epic sometimes, the second one is boring, Autosport is even more boring.
GRID 1 and Autosport are very good. GRID 1 is more arcadey, Autosport is closer to actual racing. Physics-wise they're simple enough that I prefer playing them with a gamepad, but Autosport is closer to real physics than GRID 1.
GRID 1 has a great career mode though, probably my favorite in any racing game I've ever played. It's definitely worth playing. Autosport is the closest the series has come to that again, but the focus is on more professional and realistic settings/series than the first GRID.
Here's some random screenshots from Autosport.

Oh yeah, IIRC I have autosport but I never bothered installing it because GRID2 left so shitty taste in my mouth. Maybe I'll try it someday.
[editline]11th March 2016[/editline]
GRID 1 was the first time I've enjoyed a career mode in a driving game. Driving was pretty dumb though because you could just drive million kmh in to a corner and just throw the car though the corner without going wide.
When I heard about grid 2 I got excited because I though it would be like dirt3 physics, but on road. Nope, it was shit.
Grid's singleplayer was pretty good.
Fuck Ravenwest though.
