Could anybody recommend a good steering wheel/pedals/gear stick combo? The G27 is a little out of my price range, but are there any others of similar quality for a smaller cost?
Could anybody recommend a good steering wheel/pedals/gear stick combo? I got my G27 in near-new condition for £130 from CeX a few months ago.
I got mine second hand from someone that didn't use it for like £80/$120
Logitech are decent but they're using really old tech in their wheels which creates a deadzone in the centre. Best seeing if you can get a Thrustmaster T300RS second hand.
Unless there's something else that's not captured in those graphs, after seeing people post their FFB graphs for various wheels, I think the Logitech deadzone problem is seriously overstated. The T300RS isn't much better, especially when you take into account the Madcatz tier QA problems and lottery you play with those wheels. Also worth mentioning, is that the cheapo DFGT is ironically the only wheel under a thousand dollars that consistently displays no dead zone whatsoever. Its FFB has other issues like the rachety feel and noise, but deadzone isn't one of them.
the deadzone is absolutely tiny, you won't notice it unless you look for it and it doesn't affect gameplay
the deadzone is absolutely tiny, you won't notice it unless you look for it and it doesn't affect gameplay
I would say there was a big difference between the absolutely shitty T300RS (which was ~16% deadzone) I had before I returned it and got one that was much less shitty (~8%). Games with good FFB settings will let you set a minimum FFB to tune that out, making those deadzones a mostly moot point. I know at least iRacing, Assetto Corsa, and rFactor 2 let you do that. R3E will get a setting for this in the next update along with a complete overhaul of FFB. [editline]20th March 2016[/editline] I'm still butthurt about how shitty that first T300RS was, and I'm still not terribly impressed by the working T300RS I have now even though I came from a DFGT, so can't really get behind all those "Get a T300RS it's super good" recommendations.
God a decent pc now so I seek a return to driving games. Dirt rally worth the £34?
Yes!
It was around 27€ on cdkeys.com Also, did anyone take a screenshot of the season scoreboard from the first event?
It was around 27€ on cdkeys.com
Thanks, got that instead
This week on Dirt League: "I fucking hate you stop doing such stupid events" 6 Finland stages on Kit Cars no service rip edition [sp]I promise to not make shit like this in the next few months anymore, by the way I'm taking the Maxi[/sp]
Climbin' thru the ranks
Ramming cunts. I fucking hate people who ram. Why invite me to a race to ram me the fuck off the road instantly to claim the cheap wins? [editline]21st March 2016[/editline] NFS is cancer to the racing world. RAM 2 fucking win [editline]21st March 2016[/editline] Everytime. 3/3 races. The shittest car possible but because he does a fucking obnoxious side-ram (he knows he can't win) to take me out and then slugs to the end. I'm quickly getting put off this game. There needs to be a chat function or a fucking "stop ramming you dumb shit" system with the option for people who want to actually race instead of a demolition derby to the end
Since I'm so busy this week, I drove the league today, when I usually wait until the last day to see what speed everyone else has been going and if I need to adjust. Also: You can upgrade multiple cars in a career season if you have maxed out engineers and right perks. Whenever you've finished an event, save and exit to menu, then continue the career. You can choose a different car for the next event. This also allow to take a preferred car over another for a different rally, for example having a Focus rather than the Impreza or Manta instead of the 037 for Sweden.
but the 037 is great.
has anyone tried the new cars iracing added? FR looks pretty fun but i dont think i have the road licence for it [editline]23rd March 2016[/editline]
Climbin' thru the ranks
last seasons b class oval wasnt very enjoyable imo, loads of <1m ovals which were really hard to run if you had been doing indy previously like i was
the formula renault is very very fun, worth buying. prefer it to the star mazda massively
new nissan gtr coming to nfs march 30

I had more incidents in that race alone than my last 10 races combined.

well I finished this week's league event. my car was suicidal from the 3rd stage onwards but somehow made it to the end. nearly shit myself near the end of the last stage as I had an almost terminal velocity crash into an ambulance but somehow didn't damage my car :v:
My first Class B race in the Xfinity series left me with 12 incidents and a totaled car 20 laps in... I had more incidents in that race alone than my last 10 races combined.
There's a hidden system where ovals under 1 mile only count as 2 corners rather than the usual 4 so even a single 4x results in large SR losses, because of that If I'm trying to get the next licence I avoid them unless it's a fun track like Dover.
ah, iRacing the only simulator in the world where you can experience the pleasure of paying £10 for a months' sub, £10 for a car and £15 for a track - then spend 2 days learning the car and track combination, all to have your race ended by some kid (that had clearly put in 0 practice whatsoever) lapping 10 WHOLE FUCKING SECONDS off the pace. he, for some bizarre reason, was driving at full speed - off the racing line, under a waved yellow when there was clearly an incident ahead. going maybe 30 mph more than me, he moved back onto the racing line and clipped the back of me (to avoid hitting the stopped cars) which ruined my rear suspension and took me off the track. this was shortly after he slammed the brakes on and locked the wheels up, so his only option was to tap me and ruin my race or go full force into the stopped cars and ruin his own race. [editline]24th March 2016[/editline] so now my iRating and safety rating will be lowered, and it's 2 hours until the next race which i can't do. i can maybe do another 2 or 3 races over this weekend, and it only cost me £35! what a bargain. i definitely could not have spent less money on a triple A game and got 100+ hours of gameplay out of it when iRacing goes right, it's great fun and worth the money. it's a shame that most of the time it doesn't go right. especially because other peoples' errors tend to go against your own iRating, making it harder to work up the iRating ladder to race against more competitive iRacers
I just realized I did a dumb in the H-shifter-build-video, I said that the Arduino used was a Nano when it's a Micro.. And it's pretty fucking serious error. In other news, I'm currently changing the handbrake into an analog one.
i mean, paying for a game that you don't have time to play isn't really the game's fault
it's a valid complaint though because I'm sure 3/4ths of the people that play it also have the same problem. get home from work, eat, do 1 race and then there's a 2 hour gap to the next which usually means it's too late. if you actually care about racing to a high calibre you'll spend the first few days tweaking your setup and practicing your line, then there's only a few days left to race.
i dont even see the point in getting salty about it, if its such a big deal go do mazda cup its free (bar the sub) and fun can you imagine what its going to be like from next month when 200+ people start switching to VR? theres going to be a huge increase in inc as i doubt people have disabled the virtual mirror and adjusted the spotter to ease transition
assetto corsa [t]http://i.imgur.com/czUhSkH.jpg[/t] edit: another one [t]http://i.imgur.com/zmx6KuN.jpg[/t] ended up winning my first race at silverstone international with 10 opponents, felt great
For some reason you can't restart league event and service is unavailable at the start, I thought I checked these. Event went relatively clean for me, had one missed square corner and one head on with a tree, still I'm too much behind Hosen, but I beat him by a couple of seconds on the last stages. I wonder if you had problems there or something because I didn't feel like I pushed faster than at the beginning.
