this is the worst rally I ever had recently
Cannot be worse than mine, I just fell off the mountain in the first stage which means I'm out for the rest of the event.
I can't even reset :(

Didn't have a very good run either, cocked up badly on 3 of the 8 stages (Greece, Monte Carlo 2 and Sweden, flipped the car on all of those stages). Hosenfuhrer will probably beat my overall time as long he doesn't mess up too somewhere.

Atleast you've saved on potential future frustration

by the way why the fuck we cannot reset the event, I swear I checked 'Event Restart' option

We could, but only when the event wasn't finished, for example on third stage.
I found with the league I made for my mates we couldn't restart if we retired/totalled the car. Maybe it's by design, just bad design.
So I just got DiRT on XBone, I have never had a game do this to me but I got a major headache, almost threw up and fell asleep because Sweden was a bitch to drive. That's right.
iRacing's dirt announcement wasn't a joke after all...

Just hopped back on iRacing for the first time in 2 weeks... looked like one of those Russian dashcam videos. I lost nearly 1.0 license rating and at least 100 SR. No matter where I would hide in a group of cars, one would always spin out and target me. Safety rating needs to be redone, I shouldn't be penalized if I'm in 3rd and the guy in 2nd hits a wall and banks into me.
Did dirt rally really just release a 17gb patch? or did something fuck up on my end

I'm also downloading the full thing, based on the patch notes it's all bug fixes with no new content apart from the racenet thing which I doubt is 17gb.
supposedly theres 5 new cars and some other stuff, but not worthy of 17gb.
-rant-
Update: halfway into a race iRacing decides to freeze. I was pronounced "pissing" by the other drivers.
what on earth kind of bug fixes need a 17GB download? might have to postpone playing this for a day or two.

as far as I know, the patch includes 7 new cars and pikes peak full gravel
3 S1600 rallyx cars
mini rally X
peugot 208 pikes peak
Renault 5 (80's)
renault alpine
There's usually a full changelog when you open up the game after a new patch hits I'll report back after it's finished downloading

can confirm, a few new fun looking cars. for some reason they didn't mention any of it in the patch notes until you start the game.

Right, this is pretty much the full changelog, add in a few UI tweaks and some bug fixes and it's all there.
First impressions with the patch so far, it added a lot of things that that make the game make sense.
For example, the old hill climb cars make a lot more sense when you drive them in the full gravel version of the track, and the Peugeot 208 was pretty much built for the full tarmac track, It's incedibly hard to keep it under control, there's so much power, I can definitely see it becoming a hillclimb favorite.
The shorter versions of the rally-x tracks, aren't these really short annoying tracks anymore, where you cant really let the supercars loose, with the new less powerful cars they're are fun to drive around.

Are there any good Baja 1000 / Trophy truck games on the PC? I miss Baja: Edge of Control on the 360.
My T300 should arrive this weekend. Bought a brand new one for £170. I've heard the pedals aren't that great so I'll probably replace them with the t500 metal pedals, although I'd quite like some fanatic ones.
I'm also wanting the 599xx wheel as well as the f1 wheel. Too much I want.
I'll pace myself and stick with dirt rally and join iracing. I've had a G25 wheel in the past and was always meaning to join iracing, never got around to it.
Good luck with your T300.

God damn wished Sweden never existed :v: I'm only scared to run at my actual pace in fear of ramming the snow bankings and flipping/spinning.
Would you guys be cool with doing a rally-x trackday?
This weekend or something, get everyone together and go bash each other around.
Good luck with your T300.
Guy messaged me on ebay saying he accidentally dropped it down the stairs and broke something so he refunded me.
I thought that was a good deal at £170, now I'm going to have to pay a total of £200 to get one. Do you think that's a good deal or should I hold out a little bit and get it cheaper?
Not in a huge rush to get one as I definitely want one by May to coincide with my Oculus Rift when it arrives.

Don't worry. I've put more than 400 hours in Dirt Rally and I still dive into the snowbanks in every single Sweden stage.

I would be up for it. Those S1600 Rallycross cars are seriously fun to drive, although the Very Hard AI with those cars are either seriously fucking good, or they don't have those shifting issues those cars have. The AI for those newer classes seem to be an improvement difficulty-wise in general, the AI is also very quick with the Peugeot 208 Pikes Peak in the Modern Hillclimb class.
Also, the Renault Alpine A110 is seriously broken for the 60s class. That car is as fast as the cars in the 70s class, and thus clobbers the hell out of the Lancia Fulvia and the Mini Cooper on most tracks. Especially on Finland and Germany.
It also shows in this 60s weekly standings: The entire TOP 26 thus far are only Renault Alpines A110s.
(Also, 3000th post. :toot:)
I've only been playing DiRT for around 12 hours at most now tho, but I'm beginning to learn Pikes Peak mostly and Sweden is getting a little easier.
Or it was until I tried a Lancia Stratos on it.

i cant remember what i paid but i got my t500, pedals, 2 rims and an adapter for proper wheel off the iracing forum for a pretty good price. if you do the brushing mod the t500 pedals are really nice
Everyone add me on Steam so we can compare dailies in DiRT. :pudge:
I've been consistently placing top 100-200 in the daily stages with a controller so I feel semi-alright about myself now.
Today wasn't such a great day but, that's just how it goes.
