Jalopy is pretty fun despite the car handling like a golf cart. It's very glitchy at the moment though. I was wandering around on foot at night after running out of gas and managed to fall off the map.
as much as i like playing burnout 3, i wish there's a way to fix this purple thing cos it's everywhere, including black [t]http://images.akamai.steamusercontent.com/ugc/275093438591037581/D547D1DA53C5D7DE062D38A2028AF7435BF46116/[/t]
I've been told that rFactor 2 is seriously worth buying and that it is one of the best sims around. Have any of you messed with it or have any thoughts and opinions about it?
It's basically an updated Rfactor. Probably has the best physics around now that AC has been dulled for consoles, but the rumor has it that ISI is shuttering RF2 and have officially discontinued the "private" race sim for racing teams to use that's RF2 with official source tools. Automobilista is the latest in a long line of RF clones though, so that's probably the most modern rfactor right now

IIRC they're so similar that someone actually made a tool where you can just drag/drop and convert them. If I'm right in remembering that, Automobilista might be the way to go if rF2 does indeed go away.

The cars look better, but sadly it doesn't has 1p/2p solo race thing.
I like Revenge more. The cars look better, but sadly it doesn't has 1p/2p solo race thing.
Was Revenge the first in the series to allow traffic checking? I felt like that made the game too easy in places. On the other hand, fuck Burnout 3's rubberband AI. There's still a few races I've never beaten because of it.

It's easier yes, but I see that like both an improvement and a flaw. Traffic colisions were mental as fuck sometimes because there were just too many things to hit, and you just couldn't catch the other cars because you had to be on full throttle all the time. Hence why I haven't beaten it yet either, but have nearly finished Revenge. They're really nice games, and theres a special place in my heart for them for some unknown reason. Maybe because I absolutely love my PS2 and the PS2 era.
I just realized I'm being almost as annoying as vegans when it comes to the H-shifter build. I'll stop, I swear. [sp]I won't[/sp]
Probably has the best physics around now that AC has been dulled for consoles
What the hell are you on about
use boot fast instead of full
whaaaat, emulators are weird sometimes, I remember having loading WRC 5 explicitly full instead of fast, or it won't show initial options and will always try to use weird language in menus with no labels. just found it weird because I always thought fast load would be always potentially worse.

Rfactor's been rereleased under so many names, presuming all those years of mods being compatible is basically a feature now
What the hell are you on about
https://pretendracecars.net/2016/04/17/what-happened-to-assetto-corsa/ Eh, stuff like this mostly. Not even getting to the fact that even something as basic as fucking brake fade isn't even in the game years after 'launch', meaning i can hotlap a fiat 500 from 1960 around the nurburg and brake 100% into every corner with zero consequences. Or how DLC cars on entirely different platforms or even manufacturers have suspension geometry identical to within .01mm of each other. Or how you can't pick the color of your car for online racing, because that's a "minority feature" according to the people in charge. Or how night racing and headlights are just something that happens to other people and never in racing there are no good modern sims. You just pick which missing features and shitty developers you find least painful and go with that one Of course that's all based on the official content, you can get shit like indestructible tires or traction rolling/high centering Porsche GT cars in Rfactor mods too, but that stuff isn't being touted by professionals as a perfect simulation.

Are you seriously taking James' blog as a source [editline]24th April 2016[/editline] I'm fucking tired of that guy, it's not enough that we at 4chan's /o/ board have to put up with his crap, he's starting to infect facepunch too?
pretendracecars? Are you seriously taking James' blog as a source
Game files don't lie dude, even if the daily mail, Province or huffington post are junk, if they're citing irrefutable sources, that doesn't devalue the source. It'd take some doing for a roadgoing Audi R8 and a lamborgini GT car to have identical suspension, even if Audi does own lambo, they're fundimentally different platforms. It'd take three times the work to build a platform around existing suspension geometry for a fundamentally different car than it would be to just draw up new ones. and that's before we get into shock setups and shit, which is still so similar as to not be a coincidence in AC plus i know Oggy from before PRC was a thing, he's no hack and has a Nascar license to prove it. Even if he's gone a little off the wagon after his personal life went to shit he's no idiot. plus that article wasn't even written by him in the first place so this is kind of a moot point
use boot fast instead of full
did that, it works, but the skies are black and it feels kinda strecthed

I'm not too sure what to think of all this kerfuffle regarding AC; it seems fine to me and the custom cars and tracks that I recently discovered for it have me super hyped to drift online with my buddies. In regards to Automobilista though, do any of you other guys play it? If so please share your thoughts and opinions on it.
The dirt league is up again. Renault 5 Turbo time. Ready yourselves for massive understeer. Also looking at getting a FP rx lobby going sometime this weekend. Drop a line if you're interested. Great handling/ffb and ok SP racing (when the AI doesn't decide to bomb through a half car's width gap at least), but the car/track selection is pretty limited and online is very quiet outside of leagues. Mod-wise there are a few good quality tracks supposedly made by Reiza themselves, but beyond that, yeah, rf ports. Not tried any personally but me mate doesn't speak well of them. Can't say it's worth paying 30 quid for something so niche, but it's a good game all in all.

Anyone know of a stand for my pedals? My office chair is on it's lowest height but my feet feel uncomfortable on the pedals when they're on the floor. Might see if I can make a makeshift one under my desk.
if you have one try using an ikea poang, it will depend on the height of your desk but imo there almost perfect the only thing that really bothers me is there not that rigid so the lean back changes slightly
if you have one try using an ikea poang, it will depend on the height of your desk but imo there almost perfect the only thing that really bothers me is there not that rigid so the lean back changes slightly
You mean the footstool, right? If so, that looks great, although a little bit expensive for what it is. Only problem I have is that my desk has a backing to it, so pressing the pedals on the t300 means they hit against the wood of the desk. I was debating cutting a square into it, but thought if I could get pedals that have a bit of distance behind the pedals so they don't collide with things behind it.. If you get my drift.
