Got the latest ones. Apparently it may have something to do with Lenovo's Switchable Graphics. When you aren't using anything demanding it switches back to Intel integrated graphics to save power. Unfortunately it doesn't seem to be using the Radeon Graphics with Forza.

He mentioned having AMD, they had the same problem with GTA V for a long time.
@laserpanda, are you sure you have the latest BETA driver installed? (16.5.1) otherwise you may have to wait until either the Forza devs or AMD fix it.
Oh shit I totally missed that part
found a per-application setting in AMD's settings. It gives the same error, but holding page up when you click on "Quit" bypasses it.
Is there a way to use the steam controller with forza? Id rather not go and buy an xbone controller.

If it's XInput or DirectInput I think it should work.
Have you already tested it?
Game runs amazing and looks absolutely gorgeous, I just get the stupid driver error every time before I launch my game which I bypass with page up + click quit. The game crashes often, I have the latest drivers, but I suppose I'll check into the beta ones.

Doesnt do a thing. I changed the desktop config to xbox controller emulation and it still doesn't do anything.
I heard UWP apps don't play well with the steam controller. One more reason for the whole concept to die off quick.
anyone whos played a gran turismo game before could beat the entire game just using whatever car they have that is close to the PP of the tournament they want to enter
This is something I miss badly.
The modern Forzas and Gran Turismos are far too generous. I loved it before the Seasonal Events appeared in GT5, I had an EK Civic that I loved, tuning up to beat race cars and the like. I felt a much bigger sense of "ownership" in that I felt that I had a connection with the car as cheesy as it sounds. Now you have so much money you have like 200 cars and it's just a matter of "which drivetype shall I throw around the Nurburgring today", feels a bit more dead.
I played Forza 1 again on a modded 360 recently and it was actually almost tactical in the way I played, I had to make sure to spend my money wisely on an NSX I won because I might not be able to afford a car to join another league. The NSX ended up paying off and I got enough money to buy a Porsche and move on into other ranks, etc.
The thing is, it seems like we could never have this, for lack of a better word, grindy progression in driving games anymore, because plenty of people would just complain about it being too hard and/or being for microtransactions.
Back on Gran Turismo 3 days, constantly doing the Sunday league to slowly make my MX5 more powrful.
MX5 was always my Gran Turismo starter car.

Or spending hours trying to shave 0.00001 second off a licence test to get the gold. When all you had to do was drive 100 yard and stop.
The Gran Turismo licences basically taught me how to play racing games.

I don't think I've really got the patience or time to do that anymore. Especially stuff like thr 4 hour endurance races.
When I get home I might crack my PS2 out and carry on with my GT4 save that I started when the game came out, assuming I can find my memory card
I was planning to try Gran Turismo 1 speedrunning, I can actually relatively gold IA license but honestly lost the mood for this, I'll do it someday later.

Yea that's actually what I like most about The Crew; the sense of progression. I've played for about ~40 hours or so and I only have 3 cars, not counting car tunes. Cars are really expensive so you end up using one car for a very long time, and you get a bit attached to it, driving it around the USA. And supercars are actual goals, in most racing games you just want a supercar and you can afford it after a couple of races. In The Crew I still haven't been able to afford a car more expensive than the Alfa Romeo 8C I have, so going to a dealership to drool at the cool fast cars actually feels a bit like older games

That was a good game for progression. Unfortunately I'm at the point of having everything I want and there's no way to sell or remove cars.
It's funny because I'm sure I remember people saying The Crew was grindy for microtransactions when it's one of the games that has "good old" progression.
There's a G27 for 279 on ebay. Yet, I can't "afford" it. _(:3
thats overpriced for a g27 anyway
I tried the Live for Speed demo with VR and now I get why so many people like LFS for drifting. It's so easy to drift in the game. Easier than every other game I've played. It's really fun.
While slowly building a livery for my Sileighty in NFS 2015, I decided to buy an R32 Skyline on a whim. Full performance mods, found a pretty nice livery with an anime girl on it, purged the anime and changed some colours, turned on the eurobeat, and took it for a spin.

I don't even need to tune it for drifting. It already does the job perfectly fine. Not bad, R32.
Now I need to actually finish that livery. Then I'll do something for my Diablo and maybe try making my own for the R32.

I always thought Live for Speed simulates low speed driving really well in a way that alot of sims/games don't. That might be why cruise servers are so popular
I really need to convince my girlfriend to let me set my PC up in the spare room (her "office") so I can dig my steering wheel out.
She hates the steering wheel.
so i finally bought Need For Speed and i can finally use the cinematic tools

What would they go for now-a-days? If people priced them fairly? I keep seeing tons of Force GTs for around 80~99, but they kill it on the shipping on ebay. :x

I bought mine brand new for $200 AUD from an aussie online retail shop but I think that was just before the big G27 price rise? Bought it in early december 2015 I think. Great wheel but I doubt I'd pay more than that.
man i love project gotham racing so much i wish there are more racing games like this

Woah you have mastered the midair drift technique
i don't understand the bitching of Component Parts race, it's so easy and i finished it under 2mins with a Dodge Viper

That's because they fixed its absolutely impossible rubberbanding. When the game launched mainly Amy would enter maximum overdrive and fly by you no matter what. It's much better now and I have never lost it since the update.

They also said they're working on a new game that might be out next year. I feel really let down by it now, especially since I bought the game twice and have defended it this much. Granted I'd probably buy paid DLC if it included some kind of map expansion but I thought from the get go they were gonna keep updating the game like an MMO.
