Apex is out already? :o
Apex is out already? :o
It came out on May 5th :v:
It came out on May 5th :v:
Wow haha, I remember the initial announcement and then I must've completely forgot about it for months. How is it? Is there a Career mode thing/is there going to be one? Also no upgrades yet right
The career mode is basically just a few events that have a main objective (such as finish 3rd or above) then three extra ones like race with manual transmission, or don't leave the track the whole race, etc. If you've ever played Driveclub it's almost exactly the same as how you earn tour stars in that. Each of the objectives earns these things called race points which are converted into up to 3 medals at the end of the race, and cars are unlocked by your total medals. You can't earn all of the cars just in career, meaning you have to take part in the "showcase" events (events that pop up in pairs every 6 or so days) to completely unlock everything. And yeah, no upgrades right now. I've seen files in the game that reference the livery editor and upgrades as well as some custom wheel models, but that might just be leftover assets from the console version.

I'm confused with Carma Max Damage's release right now 3 months ago, they mentioned its release date on 3rd June, right now, it's next month for consoles, but no info about PC. I somehow remember some old post mentioning its release date tomorrow, dunno which one is correct.
I'm trying to buy a wheel/pedals/gearstick set, so by default the G27, what price should I be aiming for for it? Or should I get another? This? Picking it up tomorrow! :) (G920)
does AC have the gt3/1 cars that are in iracing? thinking of picking it up as a bit of fun but itd be nice if i could use it to see which cars i might like as well
Off the top of my head, you get the MP4-12C GT3, Z4 GT3 and the SLS GT3. DLC has a few more
The wheel/pedals/stick combo is amazing, I'm in love with it. Feels like I have an arcade machine now ^^ Constant sheer joy from nailing races.
What's funny is every released gameplay footage of GT sport has all of the engine sounds blurred out by background noise, music, or it's muted. Yeah, it's gonna suck, sony has learned nothing. Vacuum autism racer, full steam ahead.
What I noticed from the trailer, was the usual. GT racing above everything else No detail in crashes, so most likely no car damage whatsoever AGAIN A livery editor, and thats it. Photo mode, because apparently people love it?... And as people said before, they didn't even show a little of the car sounds, so I'm willing to bet they botched it up again. But the GT racing part irks me the most. I used to buy GT games because they always had a fuckload of road going cars. Yes they have a lot of racing cars, but they always have a lot more road going versions, and thats the most fun I get from it. Grabbing road going cars that I could only ever get in dreams, giving them more power and a nice look with new rims, color and if the game allows also an aero package, and having fun with them. Meanwhile, they're pushing the GT racing down our throats, possibly giving us like 5 versions of what is basicaly the same GT car, kind of how they gave us like 50 Skylines, 20 of them being different iterations of the R34. I don't have any hopes for GT7, if there is gonna be a GT7.
I just always loved the obscure cars in the GT series. GT4 was the last good one. It had ok engine sounds, absolutely lovely tracks, and just the right variety of cars. Hell, if GT4 was backwards compatible I'd play it on my ps4 all the time. What's bad is that basically every GT since has only been like a 10% upgrade from 4, while other games like Forza offer much more, and GT refuses to compete. Have to understand, the japanese are a very stubborn people.

has WMD stoped paying out dividends for pcars? its been quite a while since the last one

Aside from that GT4 is WAY better than GT6 on every level. It seems to have a better variety of tracks, but I guess theres people who want a lot of real world tracks aswell so ehh... It seems to have a slightly more in depth upgrade system, it actually has 24 hour races and endurance races that actually do take time, waaaay more racing events and the progression through them is MUCH better... Prize cars and just purchases in general actually do matter aswell. In GT6, you get prize cars that you mostly don't care about mainly because you make boatloads of cash, and then again, you probably can't use them because races restrict you to certain kinds of cars, many of which are a huge drag to do. "endurance races" are 24 mins at most or something, and tracks are just kind of boring. To top that off, they progressively got rid of a few concept or just plain weird cars throughout releases. No more Wiegert Vector, no more Chrysler Copperhead...

Really unless you're super into multiplayer and have the time to dedicate to competing in the FIA races there doesn't seem to be much on offer.

And it's coming to PC too, my prayers have been answered
ive been looking at xbones since the release of horizon 2, but never again.
Is it going to be W10 Store exclusive again?
So glad to finally have Forza on the PC, and Horizon no less.
has WMD stoped paying out dividends for pcars? its been quite a while since the last one
I would love to read their forums to see what everyone's talking about on it, like what new features they have or if they've finally fixed the fucked-up handling on gamepads (yes it's a 'simulator' so it should be played with a steering wheel yadda yadda, but if they're going to release it on consoles they should at least try to make it work decently with a gamepads), but you can only access the forums if you pre-order the game. Not falling for that trap. Honestly all I just want is a racing game with Australian racing cars in it! There are so many but developer after developer just ignores Australia, even though they'll have no problem putting Australian race tracks in.
there forum is useless anyway, your not allowed a dissenting opinion there. imo pcars is an average game, probably only worth picking up in a steam sale unless your a graphics whore, i personally prefer iracing for online and i think most people here will suggest AC. while not failed in the traditional sense i think the game failed to meet the expectations of the backers who arnt frothing mouthbreathers and as i stand to make money by suggesting people buy it it says what i think about it that i recommend something else. the reason i didnt back 2 is becasue of my opinion of 1 and the behaviour of the staff
Project CARS would be so amazing if it wasn't so broken. It's such a shame because it would be the perfect entry level racing sim if it actually worked.
Probably the worst thing about PCars was the community in online races. Damn. Racing games in general have shit online communities, but it was always a rarity in PCars to do an online race where you weren't rammed off of the track on the first damn corner. It was probably a good idea to not qualify at all and start in last, so you weren't caught up in the fuckery that always happens on the first corner. But PCars was a gem because there was no way at all to punish unsportsmanlike players. They should have at least tried something.
Haven't played a Forza since literally Forza 1, but super excited for the W10 release of Forza Horizon 3 - (and it's set in Australia! Yay!), have the past horizon games supported wheels and full manual transmission?
I was debating buying a One for Forza. Not anymore! Horizon 3 looks so fucking fantastic [editline]14th June 2016[/editline]
Haven't played a Forza since literally Forza 1, but super excited for the W10 release of Forza Horizon 3 - (and it's set in Australia! I can't think of forza as a game that you play with wheel but that's just probably because it has been xbox only for so long [editline]14th June 2016[/editline] I tried forza apex and it's pretty neat how the triggers tremble with the xbone controller even on PC [editline]14th June 2016[/editline] sucks ass that I don't have access to my wheel for ~3 more months :(
Also, if anyone's worried, I remember an article somewhere where T10 said that they would develop future Forza's for both One and W10 simultaneously (I think 'concurrently' was the word they used or something?). So, no worries about the port I feel.
