Probably because most of the content is locked behind paywalls...

I tried this many times and finally nailed it thinking wow, that was easy. Then I realized the difficulty was not on full
is there a way to filter out all the shit that you don't own so you can actually see what you can drive
e: nvm if the label area is purple then you don't own anything in the category.

I don't know about the leaderboards but if you play normal then it's the same car/track combo.
can you load a ghost when in a iracing practice session? the delta display gives you really detailed info but its hard to capitalize on because you cant see what your doing wrong compared to you best lap
can you load a ghost when in a iracing practice session? the delta display gives you really detailed info but its hard to capitalize on because you cant see what your doing wrong compared to you best lap
Yes, look in the options tab of the settings menu for "Split Time Delta" and there should be a checkbox for "Display reference car" there.
I think he means actual practice sessions, with other people, not the test car on track session where it is just you.
I think if you want to see the ghost you have to go into test car on track mode.
Maybe it's only in 2014? I know the game supports pit stops.
apparently if I set up a custom championship outside of the dtm experience menu and instead with the standard raceroom menu i can use pit stops, however i assume then that things like the DRS won't work and there won't be multiple tire compounds and the rules to enforce tire swaps? i also have to set up all of the tracks by hand
quite the pain in the arse honestly
[editline]25th June 2015[/editline]
also another problem is there's literally no option for fuel load, and tire wear has never been an issue for me in wtcc races (done some that are 30-45 mins)
r3e feels great but there really is a lot of stuff missing
R3E is definitely no rFactor and might be the simplest of all the games out there in terms of customization and rules. I've noticed the same with tire wear. I don't know how fast the tires on the cars I'm driving are supposed to wear, but I've never driven a car long enough for it to matter.
I'm really annoyed by forgiving damage in Dirt but if you go outbounds in Monaco it just screams at you RETIRED and that's it.
I already fucked up monthly event and now facepunch one because of this :suicide:
I also don't like when people compare RBR to this as being more hardcore and shit, well I still cannot drive fast AND stable in Dirt, doesn't that mean it's not that easy already?
But these are the free ones.
I actually meant to aim this comment
Probably because most of the content is locked behind paywalls...
At the "not many people play it" part and no the "good time part" Quoted the wrong bit. But my point stands either way. :v:
So I know pCARS has its fair share of problems, but it's hilarious how much people try to hate it just for the sake of it.
I'm assuming everyone here is familiar with the fact that it was kind of announced for Wii U, then they cancelled the 360/PS3 versions of the game, and the Wii one has been uncertain ever since. In the midst of all that, it seems that everyone likes to find quotes from Ian Bell on the game's forum, then take it and complain to everyone that what he said clearly means he hates Nintendo fans.
Now, as a frustrated joke response to all of that, he said:
...and if you need to pass this on, we really dislike Nintendo users.
Clearly sarcastic, right? Clearly just a jab at the fact that everything he says is somehow against Nintendo, right?
Well, it seems that not everyone seems to get it.
Like I said the game has plenty of problems, but it's a good ambitious game. The fact that this guy can't post one thing without everyone going crazy and hating him is pretty sad.

That's because Ian Bell is a big baby who can't handle criticism.
That's because Ian Bell is a big baby who can't handle criticism.
He's rightfully being sarcastic about the fact that everything he says is apparently against Nintendo. It's not even worded like he's genuinely complaining, but the fact that it's making people cry even more and post it everywhere saying he's shit is just proving his point further.
Like I said the game has plenty of problems, but it's a good ambitious game. The fact that this guy can't post one thing without everyone going crazy and hating him is pretty sad.
The guy can't post one thing without being an insulting asshole that makes me seriously question the future of Project CARS. Seriously, you don't even have to look hard to find a post of him saying something completely idiotic. If it were some community manager on a power trip it wouldn't matter as much, but this is the man in charge of Project CARS.
Project CARS was released only a month ago, and then they announce PCars 2 a few days ago and open it up to crowdfunding saying, hey we need your money to make the greatestest racing game after the rousing success of the first Project CARS. I mean holy Christ do they not realize how bad that makes them look and how questionable it makes the future of the already seriously flawed Project CARS?
And then, as if Bell realized that that wasn't enough bad publicity, he outright admits that they don't even need the money. The reason they're crowdfunding? So they can filter out the feedback to only the most diehard circlejerking fans of SMS.
[t]http://i.imgur.com/tO9BCHS.png[/t]
How do I know they're diehard circlerjerkers? Because any dissent or criticism gets you banned. It's insane. I thought people saying this was just a running joke but it's really not. I decided to check the PCars forum for myself and within minutes of not even looking for these kinds of posts I already found this bullshit.
[t]http://i.imgur.com/YgM1lqX.png[/t]
In what way is this defensible? This isn't even the worst thing he's done, not by a long shot. It's just the first thing I found when I looked into this a few days ago. I'm not even cherry picking here. Go look through Bell's posts yourself.
Look, I don't hate Project CARS. I don't even think it's that bad of a game. It's pretty flawed with a lot of really stupid bugs, but it's so close to being a really good game and that's what makes it so frustrating. I really want to like the game. I really want it to be a great game that I can recommend to people new to racing sims because it does a good job of filling that entry level racing sim niche. It does a lot of things right and a handful of things that I seriously hope other sims start adopting. The problem is that between the current state of the game, how we got to where we are, and SMS's behavior post release, it's hard to remain optimistic that PCars will ever be as good as it should be.
The fact they announced PCars 2 only a month after the first game has been released only sends the signal that "yeah we messed up this time, but NEXT game will be great for sure!"
The community has every right to be pissed off at Project CARS and SMS.
ian bell is a pussy ass bitch
but in other news, why is rFactor 1's menu UI such a clusterfuck? :v:

Usually when you help to develop a product you get paid for it, not the other way around. How about you pay the select group of members instead of having them pay you? That is a pretty good way to not have a mess on your development forum and to have people invested personally because you can just fire them.
I put together a Strawpoll so we can get an idea of who plays what in the thread. I tried to list all the games I know, and you can pick multiple because I imagine most people play more than just one game.
http://strawpoll.me/4741528
I play AC and LfS, though I also have Race07 and RRRE. I don't really play them, so I only marked the former two.
[editline]26th June 2015[/editline]
Well, and AC has sort of replaced LfS for me.

Anyone wanna speculate on what cars this update might bring?
We already have most of the hystoric roster ingame, all that seems to be missing is the renault alpine, the lancia 037 and the opel manta.
But honestly Id' love to see a racing merc or a 911 that'd be great.

I'm not sure whether Classic Icons is a separate thing from the Tarmac update, but the Lancia 037, Alpine A110, Opel Manta, Opel Kadett, Renault 5 Turbo, Seat Ibiza Kit Car and Peugeot 306 Kit Car are all confirmed for the next update.

The next update already has the Renault Alpine A110, the Lancia 037 Evo 2 and the Opel Manta 400 in it. They got leaked a few weeks back, and today's Dirt Rally Weekbook sneak-peeked the Lancia 037 Evo 2.

https://www.dirtgame.com/uk/blog/4778
The Lancia 037 Evo 2 and the Opel Manta 400 will be in a new class, the Group B RWD class. Also, a 90s Kitcar class is getting added, along with additional cars for the 60s, 70s and 80s class.
I'm really glad the F2 kit cars are getting some love this game, it's one of my favorite classes and it's been too long since a rally game has had them.
You're giving me an erection, where did you hear about this?
The update accidentally got released on the third of this month. I think only the Manta was actually functioning, but all of the images were there.

I just horrifically embarrassed myself online in AC yesterday. The formality of multiplayer racing in the game is a little too intimidating for those who don't have elite setups and custom tunings for their cars. I think I'm going to stick to singleplayer for a while

I don't do custom setups further than changing camber and tire pressure most of the time and I do ok...
but yeah simracers are sometimes supersrs bsns and shet.

If you don't hear "fucking idiot" over voice chat during an iRacing race at least once, was it really a race at all?

I think you're giving the average Assetto Corsa pubdriver too much credit. If you can complete like 5 laps without spinning out or running into a wall you're already in the top 10%. Good setups don't make that much of a difference for the level of skill you see in your average public race.
I don't even play Assetto Corsa offline anymore. It's too boring. I'm a very average driver. Even when I get BTFO online, which doesn't happen anywhere near as often as you'd think as long as you can complete laps, it's still worlds more fun than racing offline against AI. Just the fact that I can usually finish a race from start to finish often puts me in the top quarter of the results.
Friendly reminder that these are the kinds of people you're racing against when you play in public servers.

Maybe I just happened to join the wrong server. I left the pits safely and noticed a car on the lead lap coming up behind me and moved out of the racing line to let him go by me, and instead he stuck with the higher road and drove straight into my ass. I then got a "pretty funny, eh retard?" in chat and apologized, only for the same fucking thing to happen to another person the next time I left the pits :v:
I still think I should drive all the cars in the game on a few tracks and get a feel for each one before going online, though. I'm not completely turned off to the idea of racing online (if anybody plays LFS, they know what pub races are like), I just like to know what I'm doing.
