Yeah, 5pm is doable for me any day really, but I think that's pretty late for suXin. Might end up starting a little earlier and people can drop in/out as we go. Timezones are a bitch.
blame suxin and his russian timezones. I'd be up for doing track days slightly later though. also your lag will never keep up with suxin and his 700 ping.
It still gets me in Trackmania that you don't see him moving around. Just these flickering afterimages setting top 3 times. :v:
some people here were even trying to play overwatch with 700 ping
Anyone thinking of doing some tomorrow? I have a few days free.
here we go again. Codemasters are pushing 10GB update that contains nothing but VR support for Dirt Rally
^this I have 16 GB left this month and can only achieve 0.8 MB/s. VR is not a priority for that game, since the previous VR support (modifications) was acceptable. There are far more important features and issues that must be dealt with, especially since the community has asked for them for over a year. Around 700 out of 300,000 people that own DiRT: Rally has a VR, and only half of them may not even play the game. What I hate the most is that they only added Rift support, and not for the Vive. This is a bad strategy that should be reconsidered, or if possible; added as a free DLC for those who wish to add it. Maybe they have emerged all the data, which requires replacement, or they're adding content that they did not mention in the patch logs (which I doubt). Bare in mind that this game is already at 44 GB, and this developer team should consider focusing on their compression skills.
I have got the update and my game directory is only 39GB so I guess it is just redownloading large files for a minor net size addition.
Logitech G920s are £150 on Currys. I'm tempted, although I don't really have the space
here we go again. Codemasters are pushing 10GB update that contains nothing but VR support for Dirt Rally
As much as I've been excited about this VR update, having this as optional DLC was a must. How did it take most of the community to see this and not Codemasters themselves?
Logitech G920s are £150 on Currys. I'm tempted, although I don't really have the space
Seems like a fairly good deal, reckon its worth selling my G27 and replacing it with a G920? I don't like how the G27 isn't support by either next-gen consoles plus I don't even use the H-shifter.
Seems like a fairly good deal, reckon its worth selling my G27 and replacing it with a G920? I don't like how the G27 isn't support by either next-gen consoles plus I don't even use the H-shifter.
I just had a quick look at some used G27's on the German market, and the G920 + shifter would cost about €100 more than a used G27. (around €200 for the G27, around 300 for G920 + shifter). For 150 GBP the G29 sounds like a steal compared to the prices in Germany. (I actually live on the Canary Islands, so I can really only dream of price tags like these. No retailers here have stuff like that, and if you mail-order it, you're looking at an additional 40€ postage plus all the hassle with explaining to the sender how to do the customs declaration and stuff.. and then it's more work than it's worth to get the VAT back from the sender's country, but I still have to pay VAT here...)

If you're solely playing racing games on an Xbox One, then go ahead but that's really all you're paying for.
Unless you need the G920 specifically for an Xbox One, get the G29 instead. It's the exact same wheel but with a handful more buttons for (usually) the same exact price.
The only reason i'm considering an XB1 is for Forza Horizon 2, look's like a really good game but I don't think I can ever go back to racing with a controller when I have a steering wheel and dirt rally on pc.
Is forza apex supposed to be so slippery compared to gran turismo? I just ride off into the horizon on every corner even when braking exactly like the driving line suggests
I have no problems driving in Forza Apex at all, can you take a video so I can see what you're doing?
Is forza apex supposed to be so slippery compared to gran turismo? I just ride off into the horizon on every corner even when braking exactly like the driving line suggests
Don't drive with the driving line on. Ironically it may worsen your performance as it's really distracting and not necessarily correct for any car you drive.
i do believe that forza is a lot more slidey than gran turismo though.

Is there a steam group or something? How do I join? [editline]dicks[/editline] For visibility:
Hosting another AC trackday starting Sunday, 14:00 GMT. maybe we should look into a group if we're starting to be more than like 10+ people

Braking in Forza always took some getting used to for me as well, I used to miss the apex by an entire 99 meters because I misjudged my speed and end up braking way too late The racing line kind of helps at the beginning when you're trying to get used to the speed you're expected to take at turns, but like the others said it tends to kill your lap time because it usually has you slow down too much/too early.
The one thing I hate in racing simulators is the strong Motion-induced blindness. Just braking 'slightly' and sliding of the road like "How the fuck did that happen?" Then you realize you drove in 140 mph.

I can only really drive well on that game because of the recommended gear indicator.
the older the gt game the worse it is imo, you actually have to look at your speedo to figure out if youre moving
For me it's the opposite. GT5 and 6 feel so odd to me while I still frequently play GT4 on PCSX2 and GT2 on an old PSP and those feel fine.
i only race with the suggested braking line on because i'm too afraid to take corners without it :(
