Is there a date for the next pcars payment? I remember someone saying august, I wanted to put it towards a laptop
The Falcon was a reward for playing in the Forza RC league last week. I'm not sure if there's any other way to obtain it but unfortunately you've missed the first chance. Either way it's confirmed as being in Horizon 3.
It's a participation reward for week 2 as well. Which is good because I've done a bit of racing in it. Can't wait till I get it.
I'm looking to get another racing game. Currently torn between Rfactor2/Dirt Rally/Assetto Corsa. Any thoughts? I'd primarily be playing singleplayer at the moment.
Can't recommend any. I'm almost over playing multiplayer racing games though. The ForzaRC league is a nightmare. Don't get me wrong; there are good players who are respectful of you, eg if you're about to lap them, they'll pull to the side of the road to let you pass. But there are so many morons out there, and in normal multiplayer too. People who rear-end you just to eliminate you from the race, people who after going off-track will then attempt to get back onto the track and take out as many other racers in the process of crossing back onto track, and people who think they are kings of the road and not giving others space, often for their own detriment when they spin out another racer and themselves. It's so frustrating.
Their needs to be some kind of qualifier for the ForzaRC too, where you have to post a fast, legit hot lap of a track without assists before you can compete in the league, to weed out the players who don't know how to drive properly (posting lap times well behind what others can do).
I streamed a few MP races a few days ago, I assure you, everyone is a massive cockend on Forza and I wish I could stoop to their level and ram back, but I don't rofl, I just can't.

I'm thoroughly enjoying Dirt Rally.

DIRT will be more straightforward and action-paced rally racing, and Assetto Corsa is mostly "do whatever you want" on road tracks. People say AI imporved in latest versions of Corsa, but last time I was mostly hotlapping or cruising instead of playing single player races.
Hey, weird question. Not sure if anyone will know the answer but anyways:
My XBL gold membership is set to expire before this week of the ForzaRC is over. Will I still at least get the participation prize (especially as I'm in the top 10% of players atm) after my gold subscription ends?

I believe that you only need XBL silver to receive gifts, so as long as on T10's end you've submitted your time (which you have) it should still be fine.
Anyone got any good suggestions for Endurance Racer viable cars? Was building an Audi R8 with the 6.0L V12 Engine (From the old Vipers I believe they were?) for Endurance. Seems really good on Fuel (Surprisingly) and doesn't shred tyres too badly. Any other good suggestions for cars that are good to build for long distance racing and are decent at fuel and aren't too tyre shredding. :v:
[editline]20th August 2016[/editline]
On Forza 6 just as an FYI.
I don't have any suggestions but I believe the Viper has only ever been a 7.3L V10. No idea where the 6.0 V12 is from, maybe it's just generic?
I dont have any help either but Audi offers a 6.0 V12 diesel in the Q7. Pretty sure Forza normally does swaps based on engines the manufacturer has sold.
Although I don't think it tells you the engine model or what car it would've come from like it did in the older games.
[editline]21st August 2016[/editline]
Actually maybe it's supposedto be from a Ferrari based on this link http://forums.forzamotorsport.net/turn10_postst40816_FM6-Engine-Swap-List.aspx
Ah then I stand very much corrected. I assumed it was the Viper RT 10 engine. But that was 8.0L now that I've googled it.
It is a shame that it doesn't tell you what model/make the engine is or what cars utlizied it as standard, would be a neat little feature I think. Wouldn't provide much but would add clarity to the builds in a sense.
I like that swap list. Thank you for sharing it.
I've been messing with a few ideas for Endurance racers, Audi so far has the top stop. I tried the Mclaren P1. It is a fantastic drive and with Racing Slicks and some Aero with a bit of tuning it and 4WD it absolutely decimates the Nordscleif track and full Nurburgring, but sadly can only really do one lap before needing to pit. The Audi however seems to keep it's reserves nice and high and I can usually grab about two or three laps from it before needing to do the fuel or the tyres.
The older games did tell you where it was from but it was brand restricted probably licencing conditions (e.g vw cars can only take vw engines)
I really want to see how it would be like to race with Facepunch again on Forza. Last time was on Forza 4, there was MC DGNF, Super_Noodle and some other fella's I can't remember the name of sorry. It was great fun and we should do it again. Maybe somewhat endurance racing like 10-15 laps or 20 laps, mandatory pit stops etc.

in forza 4 i remember doing fujimi kaido or whatever the mountain track is called, with very similar names.
we should get a crew going for horizon 3 again so we can get some mad cruises.

And yeah we did soapbox races back on Fujimi Kaido

Most of the time you can just guess. Eg the Nissan GT-R can be engine-swapped with a '4.5L V8'. Considering that Nissan ran V8s in two of their R35 GT-Rs, a 4.5L VK in their GT500 racer and a 5.6L VK in their GT1 racer, you can reasonably assume that it's going to be a Nissan VK engine.
For the Audi R8 mentioned above, I'm going to assume that the 6.0L V12 is one of those Audi-Lamborghini V12s.
Getting rid of the names was a good move for Forza IMO because it means engines can be swapped across brands unlike before. Like someone already said, in Forza 3 I could only put a GM engine in a Chevy for example, this time around I can do crazy stuff like putting a 4 rotor in an Audi R8. It's great not being restricted by the licences.
Speaking of GT-Rs and V8s, it reminds me of a picture I saw shared on Facebook once, which was something like 'why have RWD and V8 when you can have a GT-R'. Completely oblivious to the fact that Nissan's Super GT and FIA GT1 motorsport R35 GT-Rs were exactly that... Haha (and also that the first GT-Rs were RWD too).

I remember racing like once with you and Maximum Mod but I was terrible. I do feel that there will probably be a lot of meets in Horizon 3, seeing as you won't need Gold for multiplayer stuff on PC.I hope there'll be more meets, at least. That Gamescom footage looked fucking incredible
Does anyone know how long it will take for participants in the ForzaRC to receive their prizes through email? The second week finished yesterday and I've read it can take up to a month, but I don't know how long it took from after the first week.
All they've really said is:
The bonus gift cars will be sent starting Mondays after the weekly events finish. DLC will be sent to the email address in your ESL profile, and may not arrive until the end of the month
So it should be sometime during the week after the event for gift cars.
Yeah that was the bit that I read. But a timeframe anywhere from 'today' up to more than a week seems a bit ambiguous. Can't wait though. It's a shame I didn't do the first week, because if I played in it as well as I did for the second week (top 10%) I would have got that $40 car pass pack for free.

One of my favourite things in Forza 6 online is delivering karma to assholes. Was doing a GT endurance race and as always I'm being respectful; not rear-ending people, letting faster players overtake me, and giving them space if they're beside or behind me etc.
However one of the players realised that my car was much faster than theirs on the straights (the Emil Frey Jaguar XK has 827hp for R-class racing, are there any other GT cars that are more-powerful?). So after 5 laps of mostly drafting them, I went to overtake, and of course they just had to move to block me, and ended up driving me off of the road where I spun out hard. Fast forward 7 laps and I'm still behind him (2nd, he's in 1st), but I got my revenge on the second last corner by rear-ending him off of the track, and I won. Makes me an asshole too, but damn it felt good to deliver karma!
What'd you win?

I've always been respectful (unless I lock up by accident or they brake way before the point so I'm caught out) but I have 0 remorse for destroying someone that way.
Also you should add me and race or something sometime.

Yeah the brake lock-up is sometimes a problem for me. I don't know if you're allowed to use ABS if you race online, but I never use ABS anyways because I like the challenge. A problem in Forza is that the brake lights of cars in front of you can be really hard to see - even at night. There really needs to be some kind of glare from the brake lights.
Away from my Xbox at the moment but if you want to add me I'm PrometheusClock. But keep in mind that I live on the other side of the world from you, so I may be asleep while you're awake etc, and lag haha. Maybe we could get a Facepunch race going.

Participation gets the Ford XY Falcon GTHO Phase III (it's the most-revered Ford ever made in Australia and has never been in a video game before, so you can imagine how excited I am for that). Top 50% of players get the Porsche expansion pack for free. I think the next prize is if you were in the top 128 of players, but I was only something like position #300 sadly.

Mostly NSW and QLD though so anywhere else might be even worse lmao.
[editline]22nd August 2016[/editline]
And nah I usually run all assists off but normal steering (controller) and sometimes racing line on brake only because I just cannot find that perfect sweet spot, but usually in casual online racing just no lines.
Simulation steering in FM4 was weird as fuck, even with a Fanatec CSR it didn't feel right. Is that just me?
