Uncharted 4 Multiplayer in a nutshell.
Shit gets old after a while. It's been like this since launch. People seriously need to start doing the trials before playing online. No matter how hard you try, you can't carry a team by yourself.

Every game I've played so far has been ridiculously close. I've either won or lost by one point.
I feel guilty about going online- I always find it fun to run and gun in uncharted games and the multi maps are fun but I never seem to kill anyone despite how hard I try so I'm not allowed to play.

happens far less in ranked
Just had the dumbest game over death state ever. Mild chapter 17 spoilers.

Wasn't even close to touching him.
I'm sad that there [sp]aren't any crazy bonus skins to unlock, like the skeletons in earlier games. And that you can't play as any other character than Nate.[/sp]
Might be spoilers for some, so edited.
Man the [sp]second truck chase[/sp] level in this game is ridiculous, getting thrown about like a ragdoll. Had a lot of fun on that level.
Could stop taking screenshots of the scenery too, but totally forgot about photo mode.
The final boss fight was everything I wanted it to be, within about 30 mins of playing the game I kept thinking "I really hope Nate gets to use [sp]a sword and maybe even has a sword fight on a ship... but that might be too much..."[/sp].
Finished it, I loved every minute of it. Amazingly enough my dad watched me play through all of it over the course of 4 days and he loved it too.
The ending got me a little sad, but also hopeful. I certainly hope it's not really the last Uncharted.
Just finished it, definitely my favorite of the 4 games. But I still have the same little niggles with this as I do with the previous ones. They always feel slightly too long, like they are being padded a bit just for the sake of a longer game. Also the combat is annoying like the last game, especially near the end, but still much better and streamlined than the last ones.
Also regarding the story; [sp]I was almost certain going into it that Nathan was going to die. Quite surprised that he didn't.[/sp]
[sp]I also really like how they incorporated the play style of the Crash level into the bit where you get chased by the truck through Libertalia. It made it neat going back to the Crash level right at the end so you can see the similarities, but the vast difference too.[/sp]

[sp]I noticed more similarities in the part where Nate and Elena were running out of the cave with all the exploding mummies tbh. I was ready for a boulder to start chasing them.[/sp]

[sp]Maybe that was the bit I was thinking about. I know there was one bit at the end that was similar to the crash level. Also, FUCK THAT EXPLODING ZOMBIE BIT It was not fun in the slightest.[/sp]

I don't get how you could think that. The Uncharted games are lighthearted romps, it's not TLOU.
I beat the game and I'm so glad that [sp]sully didn't die, although there could be a possibility he did sometime before the epilogue with Nate and Elena's daughter, but I didn't see any[/sp]

[sp] I think there's a note or letter you could read that said Sully and Sam were coming to visit soon.[/sp]
[sp]Sully will never die. He's fucking amazing.
Loved that bit where he wants Nate to buy the same red shirt he is wearing on Madagaskar.[/sp] :v:
I'm not impressed by the multiplayer. The reviving/sidekicks didn't sound like a great idea and I still don't think they are after playing. Also sneaky Sam (linked because of setting spoilers I guess).

Photo mode is going to be the end of me. I can't stop interrupting the game to take screenshots every 30 seconds

[sp]Well all the pre-release trailers and teasers before Amy Henning left all make it seem that way. Especially with Sam saying he'll come and make Nate pay for the 15 years in jail.
Seemed pretty obvious the original Uncharted 4 story was Sam getting revenge on Nate and one of the two dying.[/sp]
[sp]With the title being "A Thief's End" I always suspected the thief was Drake, as evidenced in previous games. Considering how dark the first teaser was, I had feared from that day that Drake was to die in it.[/sp]
[sp]There was also a lot of dialogue in the game between Nate and Elena that made me feel like they were leading up to him flopping. Shit like "we have loads of time to talk about this later".[/sp]

[sp]Or "After this is done, we'll go relax somewhere together" or something like that. You only hear that stuff when one of them isn't gonna make it.
I guess the joke is that ND is smarter than we're accustomed to from Hollywood and averted the trope, probably on purpose.[/sp]

Whaaaaaaaaat? [sp]I mean... maybe before you played the game, but during the actual playing of the game you see their bond. Sam was kind of a dick, but he obviously loved Nathan, and would definitely never kill him, jesus.[/sp]
What a fucking GAME. Loved every second of it. That scene where [sp]you go up the makeshift elevator on your way to New Devon and you get the optional speech where you and Elena look over the railing, and then Drake stays there until you get up was so calm, but so awesome. A great throwback to the giraffe scene from TLoU. I was waiting for the music to kick in and then once you get in the jeep the music started. The lack of any sound but the music was... wow.[/sp]
Amazing ass game.
Some of the Multiplayer trials are ridiculous, the sidekick ones are super, super hard for no reason
Apparently there is a petition started by Troy Baker himself.
Washington Post apparently had a "review" of the game. Apparently it is so bad it sound likes a 12-year old's diary, something that even baffled the editor himself, (did no one see this in Washington Post). There was no score but the author had put a 44/100 on Metacritic. The petition asks they remove the score from the Metacritic because a poorly written rant as a review.
Edit: Apparently a "real" review was put into the Washington post, which is now claiming the other is a "PARODY" review. The Metacritic score has been not changed though.
I hope they'll add in coop gamemodes eventually
What a game, [sp]what an epilogue holy fucking shit, the happiest ending to literally any game I've ever played[/sp]
A few thoughts:
[sp]I suppose it doesn't matter but they really didn't 'lose' the pirate's treasure, it was just underwater in a cave they knew the location of, not a big deal right? I get the message behind all of it, the usual Uncharted stuff of sacrificing wealth and fame for those you love. But seriously, Nate could have had both at that point. Just grab some scuba gear and head back, he owns a fucking diving company by the end of the game. I suppose it doesn't matter since he ended up super rich anyway.
The narrative went in a way that I completely didn't expect, and despite it following the Uncharted formula it broke in ways. I expected breaking from the formula, but not breaking in the way this game did it. Like there was a very satisfying ending where everything is emotionally ironed out and everyone gets what they want personally and monetarily. I'm a bit confused about the lack of anything supernatural too, I always quite liked that element. Funny thing is that I was expecting Sam to blame Nathan for the time he spent in prison, I was expecting some pretty bad shit to go down, Nate ending up seriously injured or worse. It's called "a Thief's End" for god's sake.
As for the gameplay, it was Uncharted. They really liked the rope and sliding mechanics didn't they?
It was very pretty, but having played the old games in the Drake Collection on PS4 I would've much preferred better framerate for worse graphics.

Tbh, [sp]I never once believed Nate would actually die. Spoiling the end in the game's subtitle seemed stupid and way too obvious.[/sp]

I predicted that [sp]after the encounter with Rafe and Nadine when he fell off the cliff and banged his head then landed on his back, he'd wake up in a hospital with Elena and Sully and have to go through physical therapy having taken damage to his spine.[/sp]
Bold I know, but I expected bold from the final game. We got bold, just not in the direction I expected.
I'm pretty sure there was a major rewrite to avoid a bad ending [sp]one of the lead writers did walk away saying that the current script was just too dark and she didn't want any part of it.[/sp]
That said it still has a lot of holes and really dumb plot choices but it is a nice way to end the franchise.

That sounds legit terrible.
I'm disappointed [sp]that Cutter and Chloe didn't show up in the story. Also I think that if they make more Uncharted games, Sam is gonna be the protag. Only because it seems to be set up that way with him still wanting to find more cities and also "knowing a guy"[/sp]
