With some playing around, yes.
Give "restrictbuildbuyinbuildings false" in the console (without quotes), after that you can edit the walls on your floor and delete the hidden markers.

Do all of that before you move your sims in though as your game can bug out otherwise.
And if you mean expanding with more floors, I'm not sure but I think you could build on the roof of one of the penthouses.

what the shit. utterly wanked up entirely. my sim isn't carrying out any orders, his thumbnail is just a green square and when I carry out the various fixes online, like deleting the sim and loading, or resetSim name it either actually deletes him or does nothing at all. :sigh:

In my game I clicked the workbench and selected "Make Master Invention" and it took about 2 sim days to fill the completion bar to 100%. When it was done, my sim stopped building and that was it. When I click the bench again I get the option to make the invention but it's at 0% again.

Is this because I have to construct a few parts, or could it be a bug?

Definitely sounds like a bug to me! I did mine in two consecutive goes (I whore the moodlet manager) and it carried on. Honestly don't know what to suggest :frown:

I've never played the Sims 2 or even any of the Sims expansions, but 3 is just such a massive improvement over 1. The only thing I don't enjoy is old age, which I guess I could just disable with a mod.

Getting to level 10 politics in a day just to discover that the pay sucks and my guy only has like 20 days to live sucked.

So I've been making my evil simbot's lair. It's a little shed with a hidden fancy château underneath it, so far. Gonna add on holding cells, other evil things, etc etc, tomorrow.

Anyone got any other suggestions?

Don't bother with it. There is almost nothing to do in it, and doesn't have different life stages or build mode or anything. SimCity Deluxe is good though if you're interesting in city building.

That's from the PS2 version, right? Yeah that part was cool, i liked the one where you got a shitty house and you needed to fix it.
