Reinstalled The Sims 3 the other day, and remembered how awesome the thread that got made when it came out was. Everyone was posting their sims and stuff they found out about the game because it was new.
Late Night is such a dissapointing expansion. Penthouses just don't got the same vibrant social experience of living in apartments in Sims 2.
I own all three of the main Sims games, most of the firsts expansions and all of the seconds. Number 2 was and still is my favourite. One family I was particularly proud of made it through 6 generations before my old, crumbly PC died on it. And It was a big family too. I had my original pair have at least 8 children because I really wanted a boy but they kept giving birth to girls.
I would fucking kill to have The Sims 2 on Steam along with expansions.
So overall you guys enjoyed The Sims 2 more? Why was that?
Damnit, need to reinstall the sims 3.

Stop making me want to find my Sims 1, 2 and 3 disks.
To be honest, they could have done a lot more with the Sims 3. It felt stripped in some ways.
I hate how in The Sims 3 you're constantly getting called on your cellphone about missions you should do, and why does everyone automatically have a cellphone... Oh, and the World Adventures was kinda disappointing, I wished it would've been something like The Sims: Vacation :=
You still usually get the missions if you ignore the phone. And if you don't want any more, accept one but just don't do it
I remember one time in the Sims 2 (and 3) I impregnated every woman possible in one neighborhood, I used only one guy.
I think I prefer The Sims 3 over 2.
To be honest, I prefer 2, but I still play 3. (Because I think I'm a closet graphics whore, I dunno) It seems like they purposefully dumbed down 3 so much just so that they could fix it with expansions. (like, even worse than they did with 2)
I love the Sims. But I did hate all of the Addons they release.... Some are Way overpriced...

How does that make any sense?

The Sims 1 and The Sims 2 were so much fun..
I loved Sims 1 and 2. 3 barely runs on my crummy laptop :smith:
I might make a playthrough of The Sims: medieval. What do you guys think?
I remember watching my sister play Sims one day. Abused the fuck out of the "rosebud" cheat. Before we learned about it, she had trouble paying bills, so the repomen came around and she had to sell the clown painting she bought. She then had a child and the repomen came back for something to take, so she sold the child. Needless to say, I've not let her live it down ever since. Always good for laughs :v:
Does anybody know of any mods for The Sims 3 that enhance the lighting and shadows? For example, light shining through a window onto the floor is very jagged and not at all good looking. I know there was a mod that overhauled the lighting system for The Sims 2 that looked great but I've had no luck finding something similar for 3. How easy are mods to port over from 2 to 3? I thought I read somewhere that in some cases you can just directly install a 2 mod into 3 and it'll work.
Ah, yes. The Sims. I remember a friend of mine and I made this beautiful man. Here he is:

Oh god the Nostalgia! Playing on my Dad's computer! Listening to it now, it really sounds like airport terminal music.
I was playing last night, and we moved my sim's wife's mom into our house to watch the kids while we went to work, and since she still had a job, I forced her to retire, and when a sim retires everyone in the house goes up to her and cheers and whatnot. Well, she started walking upstairs on her own without a motive bubble, and when I tried to make her stop, it didn't work. She grabs our toddler out of the crib, puts it on the floor and then this happened: Scared the hell out of me. She died a few days later, and to this day I still blame that toddler.
