Damn... I really want to play sims seriously, but I ALWAYS burn the house down or attempt to kill my sims any way possible.
Well, I decided to reinstall The Sims 2 now that I have an external HD, I've already reinstalled the first 6 expansion packs (I'd install Apartment Life too but it's not with me right now.) It seems to be working well on the external HD so far, the only issue is that some expansion pack outfits (FreeTime athletic wear and some Seasons outerwear) appear to be missing polygons in CAS, but they work right ingame. I'm definitely enjoying the game again, it was one of my favourites some years ago.
I'd like there to be a university expansion for the Sims 3. Most of the other ones I wasn't super interested in.
Do you guys really think the sims 3 expansions are crap? Honestly the only one I don't like is world adventure.
I really like them, it's just that they're really ridiculously expensive.
I have to make one guy with little money, no cheating and try to get as rich as I can.
That's what I always do. I start on an empty lot, take all my cash away with cheats, then get better and better, cycle through all available jobs (else it's boring) and end up having everything completed (all skills, all WA quests, all collectable stuff, buying every lot, ...). You know what I hate? Having more cash than I need and hardly using the objects which are not better than all the other ones (the best fridge, the best bed, the best shower, ...). That's why I play with this mod and have much more with two 30% house value payments per week. If I want to get a better object, I have to work hard to increase my daily income. That's how it should have been by default, I think. Another mod I love is this one: http://www.modthesims.info/download.php?t=433202 You see, it's all about money when I play. Open for Business was my favorite expansion and I hope there will be a similar one for The Sims 3. My least favorite is Generations. Even as a Sim I'm not very social.
I really like them, it's just that they're really ridiculously expensive.
Agreed. I refuse to buy any of the expansions they release for full price, luckily they seem to go on sale on Origin quite frequently. Arguably, with how much time I can pour into the Sims with each expansion, $40 isn't a terrible price, but they're still expansions so I can't justify paying what they ask at release.
Got around to picking this up. I installed them all, finally, and they eventually ended up littering my desktop with various DLC and expansion shortcuts. Shouldn't everything just be in one? If I start up the "Sims3.exe" file will I be able to access all the content ingame or do I have to jump back to the desktop and start a completely separate program in order to get the extra goodies?
If I recall you run the EXE of the latest Expansion installed.
New expansion announced Is this supposed to be an expansion for Late Night? Everything looks like it should've been in there instead of its own expansion.

More Sims 3 Showtime news, this time about the Collectors Edition! Oh yes, it's coming. With this latest edition of this upcoming expansion, you'll be able to live out your wildest fantasy! That's right, you can be like Katy Perry! With the latest expansion pack, you get to be like Katy Perry, and have items and hair style (note, not a typo. There's only one hairstyle) inspired by Katy Perry and her wonderful (read: terrible) music videos. Screenshots and details of this amazing collectors edition are at the link below, and there's even an amazing trailer below the link showing off the wonderful content from this much anticipated collectors edition. http://thesims.com/katyperry?intcmp=TheSims3StoreJan12_Internal_ComSplash_EP6KPPreOrder
Wow these are disappointing. The least they could have done is composed those songs in Simlish for the trailers.
So, to turn the mood entirely around... I'll give a little blurb about what I've done so far in the adventures of "Henry Ericson, Restauranteer". Henry Ericson is a well-mannered guy. He likes art, cooking, and computers. He hopes to one day own his own restaurant, and is currently employed at the Little Corcisan Bistro in Riverview. His biological clone, Henry Ericson I, also shared the same dreams, aspirations, and wardrobe. However, during house construction, something went terribly wrong. He was attempting to fix his television, but instead became a smouldering pile of dust and debris. He currently resides in a small plot in the back yard, and occasionally comes back to haunt his current incarnation. Our story does not concern him, however. Our story revolves around his current, living self. Henry enjoys working at the Little Corcisan Bistro. He's been trying to win the boss, Yvette Grisby, over since he started. Eventually, he and his boss became best friends. Little did he know, however, that Yvette was married to the delivery boy. This drove Henry into a rage. Not knowing what to do about the situation, he decided to throw a party, and invited Yvette and Walter over for dinner. Once the party had begun and everyone was inside the deliciously-modern house, Henry quietly locked the doors and retreated upstairs. Eventually, Yvette and Walter made their way to the deck, feeling a bit frightened that they were locked in Henry's house. Henry paid no mind to this, and waited for the right moment to act. As Yvette and Walter were staring at the stars, he leaped into action and sprung the locks on the sliding door, locking Yvette and Walter on the patio. Of course, Henry isn't a mean person, and is only marginally psychopathic. He provided them with a deck table, a bed, and a door to the bathroom. He brought them meals every morning and evening, and chatted with them throughout the day. Despite being locked in Henry's house, his "guests" seemed to love him more than ever. Eventually, Henry grew tired of his captive houseguests, and hatched a new plan. He waited for Walter to step into the shower, and locked the door that led from the deck to the bathroom. He then unlocked the door that led into the rest of the house. No matter how hard he tried, Walter could not step back out to the deck, and was forced to make his way downstairs. There, Henry trapped Walter in a small glass box, completely devoid of food, bathroom, and bed. The box was so small, Walter had no choice but to remain standing, often in pools of his own urine. Henry went back upstairs, and unlocked the deck door. After all, Walter was taken care of. Why should he keep his love trapped on his patio like some bizarre animal? He bid her farewell, and unlocked the front door. Walter was still trapped in a glass box, but the weeks of torture on the patio must have shattered their relationship entirely. Yvette simply changed clothes and ran to work, leaving Henry to his own devices. After cackling maniacally and locking his house doors yet again, he began to modify Walter's cell to be more... accommodating. In place of the tiny glass crate, he provided a larger walled area with a fireplace and a chair. Henry could see the fear in Walter's eyes as he finished the cell. Walter, realizing it was his time, took a seat in the chair and waited. Henry began to build a small blaze in the fireplace. Soon, sparks began to fly from the mouth of the machine, setting fire to his area rugs and soon, Walter's chair. Henry stood back, contemplating his success, as the man who would be known as Walter Grisby slowly roasted in his enclosure. Suddenly, Yvette bolted through the door, panicking at the inferno that was her husband. Several firemen followed, but by then it was too late. All that remained of Walter was a spectral apparition which scarred the minds of everyone in attendance, a gravestone, and a small pile of ash. Yvette stood in the corner, sobbing, as the firemen congratulated me on putting out the fire myself. Henry proceeded to clean up the ash, and placed the gravestone in his backyard. Walter and Henry I seem to be getting along fine. The next day, Henry awoke more determined than ever. He had eliminated the one thing that stood between him and Yvette, and he was hellbent on culminating his scheme. On his way to work, only one thing ran through his mind: His lovely Yvette.
[greats story]
Holy shit, you just gave me a great idea for some experiments. I am going to try and burn everyone in the neighborhood to death! If you kill your boss, does a new one take place? I wonder how many bosses I have to go through :v:. This will be fun, and if you guys like I can inform you of my progress as it gets interesting.
This is apparently the second floor, barring the foundation. And yet the second floor is at a knee-level What do I do. [editline]7th February 2012[/editline] Well, I made another lot and it worked fine, I have no idea why that one did that though.
What is this, a house for midgets?
It's a house for ants
I learned how to create custom objects. Here's a Facepunch lamp for you: - Download -
I remember the Sims.Online. I played that game like no other. Sims with an online element (excluding shitty Sims Social) just makes it so damn addictive and more fun.
Oh shit. I remember this. I lived with someone who owned a casino. I worked for a guy who held "wrestling" matches at his place. My wrestler was the "South Pole Santa" and I was actually a champion. Then my parents banned me from the game. Right when I started making bank wrestling, too.
Playing TS3 favorite trait is kleptomania. Just go running around town into peoples garages and steal their cars. It is either that or going into the bathroom and taking the toilets. I really wish you could control what they stole instead of it being random.

I think they should make a Sims 3 Online, that'd be pretty fun!
Playing TS3 favorite trait is kleptomania. That's what I've been doing with my current game :v: It's not really a substantial source of income though...
In most cases if I'm not trying to steal a car I'm outside of the museums or art exhibits stealing the stuff outside. That stuff can usually fetch 1-3k. I wanted my guy to be a non-fiction writer but that's the least popular. Can't really live off of 50$ in royalties a week. So now I write non-stop with mystery and I'm up to at least 10k in royalties. The neurotic trait is pretty helpful, if I get stressed I just 'freak out' and become tranquil for the rest of the day and continue writing.
I haven't even played The Sims 3 although I loved the shit out of the other games when I was a kid. I have to try it.

Sorry for the large bump, but I've started to get into The Sims again. I was playing Late Night, and was hanging around Banzai lounge. Closing time came, and we all got stuck near the elevator.. I was the first to piss myself, and they all laughed at me. At least I didn't save
I just recently reinstalled as well :tinfoil: It's a fun game, but after about 8 hours of gameplay I've already lost my will to continue. Once I start being able to afford all of the top-tier stuff, without cheating, I stop caring about the game entirely. I understand that's not what the game is supposed to be about in the first place, but I can't seem to get around it.
Reinstalling now. Gonna be a playboy that seduces all the ladies in town, married or not, to make babbies.
Bam, got that Blair something pregnant. How does one WooHoo/Try for baby with married women?
Bam, got that Blair something pregnant. How does one WooHoo/Try for baby with married women?
holy shit your title what do you mean with married, women who are not married to you ?

After talking and talking she was my best friend, so I told her to break up with her fiancee, she totally did it. After that, I invited her over to my place and woohoo'd with her. Aw yeah. Next objective: Seduce the medical career boss.
