Soooo, I've been wanting to get back into this. I only have the Late Night expansion, and I've been wanting to well... EXPAND! What's the best one you'd reccomend? Generations, from what I've heard added a lot. Pets is cool, because... pets, but there's not much else. Supernatural looks okay, but I don't think its my thing. I know nothing about ambitions, but I don't know if I really want to focus so much on my sim's jobs. seasons looks like it'll be solid, especially because seasons was probably one of my favorite TS2 expansions. Currently, my plan is to wait for Seasons, and then get Pets some time after that. What would you guys reccomend? Because they're all priced at that $40 tag, I don't really wanna get too many. is it possible to find them cheaper anywhere?
Don't forget they're also starting to hint at their next possible expansion after Seasons.
Haha. Subtle.
I had an idea after looking at these custom houses. It's a small sims to gmod neighborhood. You can post a lot. I only have the sims 3 and no expansions. Or a top down view of the interior with the grid on and pictures of the front, back, side, other exterior with the grid on. It can be any building. Example house. I will use custom sim textures and other models. [t]http://filesmelt.com/dl/house13.jpg[/t][t]http://filesmelt.com/dl/01_prefabulous_test0000.jpg[/t] More information. Finally, the most interesting expansion pack for the Sims 2 is coming back? I loved being able to send them off into this whole other world, with completely different motives and activities.

It adds horses, which is interesting, but the rest is pretty standard. If you want pets though, then it's obvious you should get it. So far, I've been having a blast with Showtime. It's a bit like Late Night pt II, but the new careers are fun, and there's a ton of items that it comes with that I love (like the pool table, various arcade machines, etc). Also, you can be a dubstep dj. Who doesn't want to dj around town with the stage name DJ Wubby Wub? Ambitions added a bit too. Aside from the careers, there were two new skills added, which I thought were pretty damn cool: sculpting and inventing. Inventing can lead to you creating robots, and even a TARDIS style time travel machine. As far as the other expansions go, LGR has done some rather detailed video reviews of each (as well as the stuff packs). You may wanna check those out to get a better idea as to what each pack contains. http://www.youtube.com/playlist?list=PL3BC2ECCF73B81434
Reading this thread made me sad. I used to play the Sims a TON as a kid, probably have over 1,000 hours of it if I had been recording it. It was all I used to play. I miss the days of being a kid with no responsibilities and just being able to play games all day.
One thing I wish they'd do is give you the option to make he days longer. You can make their lives longer but not the days, and it takes them about 4 hours just to prepare a meal.
Anyway to reduce the loading times and the stuttering? (Where time will freeze momentarily)
Make their lives longer, build up lifetime reward points or whatever they're called, then buy the lifetime perks so they don't need to eat as much.
Anyway to reduce the loading times and the stuttering? (Where time will freeze momentarily)
Nraas' Overwatch mod can help with the stutterring depending on what's causing it. In my game a Sim got stuck somewhere (presumably) and using Overwatch I reset everything in town, and the stuttering vanished for me.
Anyone and everyone should just go on the Nraas wikispace website and scroll down the list of mods. They do great things to your game by fixing all the game-breaking errors that EA have not, and some also adds/alternates an interesting dynamic to the game. Want to try to fix your game? This thread made my load up and old save on The Sims 3 with all expansions, my Sim later dies after catching fire randomly when inventing, Game Over.
I'm contemplating on trying the Sims 3, I loved the first two back in the day.
You'll get a lot of people telling you the third one was not as good as two. Personally, I love the Sims 3 and can't go back to playing the second game. It's just faster and the open neighborhood is awesome.
I think The Sims 1 and 3 are the best. But the Expansions for 1 and 2 are better than most of the ones for 3.
This thread made my load up and old save on The Sims 3 with all expansions, my Sim later dies after catching fire randomly when inventing, Game Over.
This is why you should keep a shower nearby.
You can put them out with the shower?
You can put them out with the shower?
Yeah, if you're fast enough you can order them to jump into the nearest shower or pool. I kept the cheapest shower I could right next to my room with stuff that can explode and set sims on fire for this very reason.
Damn it. I only have the EPs up to Late Night but this thread made me want to play again. I love building houses and I miss it.

I just prefer the open world, no loading screens.
It's like a real lab with one of those emergency chemical showers. :v:
That just sparked a cool idea in my mind: someone build a laboratory. With all the supernatural elixers, and whatnot. And then when Seasons comes out, the potential with aliens. Hey that's not a bad idea, making custom content like that. I mean, it's probably been done before, but... still I like that idea.
I loaded up the Sims 1 only just because I wanted to see what it was like after being spoiled by 3. Holy shit there's so little to do. You can get a job or talk to people and.. that's it really. Despite my making 1100k a day from being a Criminal Mastermind, I can't be stuffed renovating my crappy shack full of expensive items. I still wish the charm from 1 was there in 3, but hey, EA..

Hot Date had a downtown area, Vacation had guess what, Unleashed added pets, which was awesome, and extended the neighborhood, which was even better, Superstar had all that kickass movie and music stuff, and Makin' Magic added wizard duels 'n shit.

Usually I spent most of the time building houses. I remember one time I had all the houses from the console version of the Sims recreated perfectly.
Anyone having problems installing expansion packs for Sims 3 from Steam? A friend gifted me Late Night on Steam and the game refuses to acknowledge it's installed, glancing at the game hub and SPUF looks like this has been happening for a couple weeks now.
Am I the only one that used to play this game to design houses? I never really got in the sims aspect till Late Night when I could have a Sim Director, but before that I only designed houses.

This place is pretty good for house inspiration. http://remash.tumblr.com/
