The Sims 2 was just a better game, sadly I'm glued to TS3 cause of World Adventures and Late Night. And the fact you didn't have to load every part of the city instead of the whole thing.
[editline]28th October 2012[/editline]
Sadly TS3 uninstalled itself today for some reason, and I lost the most amazing house I ever built. I don't even know how I did it, I finally was able to make an amazing house, and now it's gone. Such a shame.
Post was from a few days ago, but related.
I played the Sims 3 up to KPST when my game decided to corrupt itself and I ended up uninstalling it. I picked up the remaining Sims 2 Expansions and Stuff Packs I didn't own (I only had the EPs up to OfB, none of those SP) and when I played it, I actually enjoyed it more than I did the 3rd one even though you can't travel and such.
The thing that made me dumbfounded about it is that in the Sims 3, the cars would teleport out of the lot space and into the road and the Sim would teleport into the car. I decided to buy a car and a lot for the Sims 2 to go downtown, and I can't believe they actually had animations for getting into the car, reversing the car out of the parking spot and when coming home driving into the parking spot and opening the doors to get out.
For the people who don't know or haven't played The Sims:
The Sims 3

The Sims 2
That's because on the Sims 2 you had to have the drive right next to the road, so the animations were the same every time. But on the Sims 3 you can put a parking space literally anywhere.
Shame, Service Initialization Errors every start up. Tried reinstalling too, oh well. Guess that's it for TS3.

Wow, as I posted that, it finally decided to stop fucking shit up and worked.

If you have mods installed and want to properly use this patch, make sure you delete all your custom content and mods first, as they will most likely be incompatible with the new update. Or you could just wait until the modders bring up compatible files for the mod.
If you have a patch earlier than 1.39 and want to patch, use this super patch that contains every patch ever: Super Patch (1.1 GB)

Diving board finally, I can imagine lazy game reviews being happy about that :v:
Now we just need the slide
Save.
Everything.
Saves corrupted during process. I lost 3 custom mansions, my complete family, and Vice City world save. Such a crock of shit.
Three years for the diving board
I was hope they would bring back asymmetric relations and split it into short and long term again. then there can be fun situations such as sexual harassment like in sims 2
If I have the base game and expansions on steam, will I be able to buy a boxed copy of Seasons and play it alright?
Cause I don't think I could wait for it to come to steam, it looks so fucking good, one of the best looking expansions so far.
Well, right now the new expansions aren't on Steam. But they'll probably be available sometime soon. But if you want to play with your Steam games, you're going to have to get Origin and register your Steam keys on there.
But if you don't want to do that then I guess wait for the Steam versions to come out. As far as I'm concerned, the boxed versions do NOT work for Steam, as they work for Origin.

I'm afraid not.
Though I think you could register your Steam keys and your retail key on Origin to play them all.

Ninjas ;o
Honestly, besides having to download everything again, putting your Sims games on Origin is the most painless thing ever. You don't even need to run Origin again after everything is installed.
Just played sims 2, my male sim used the telescope for the first time, got abducted by alien, came back pregnant, tried raising it but failed, dumped it in the backyard for 3 days, child custody came and took it away, my sim became happy because he met a new person, then depressed because the baby is gone.
Stupid alien babies.

Anyone have some nice and shiney houses for me?
So, how can I build attic windows that are like, jutting out, without horrible clipping with the roof everywhere?

Another question I have is how to build an apartment building stuff from scratch.
[editline]10th November 2012[/editline]
Also, if I wanna build a certain type of community lot, (like a watering hole or a specific shop), how do I know what I need for the lot to actually function?
You can build an apartment from scratch on TS2... just build a lot like normal, press Ctrl+Shift+C and type "changelotzoning apartmentbase" without the quotes.
Anyway, I know this sounds extremely weird and fucked up to the max, but does anyone know of a mod/hack that allows teens and children to be in a romance?
Sims 3 Seasons be coming out soon, I hope the world they give us isn't a bland fucking Country like town

I think there is for teens, ones that allow them to woohoo and have babies, I don't think any of the romance interaction animations would work for kids but I'm not sure

There won't be a new world this time around.
There won't be a new world this time around.
Good.
Every time a new expansion came out, I'd always want to try out a new world, but I don't want to leave my old save behind.
Well at the very least some of the most annoying bugs that they introduced with the latest patch will be fixed once Seasons is released.
-Marriage is broken
-The telescope doesn't work
-Can't collect or use space rocks
Then there are these ones which may need a seperate patch to fix:
-Getting hundreds of calls a day and being spammed with requests to go on a date by the entire town
-Having hundreds of Omni Plants stuck in your inventory that you can't get rid of.
-Sims resetting when they use the Mail Box
-Sims randomly changing into formal wear or their career cloths
-Default career wear can glitch out and become unusable making it impossible to go to work because the sim can't change into their default career cloths. Luckily this is easy to get around.
I've even had my magic show totally glitch out while using the the Box of Death or what ever it's called. What happens is the sims gets in and never comes out. They don't die they just get stuck there for all eternity and the show never ends.

Funny how every time EA releases a patch that fixes things and adds new things, there's still always something that breaks the game. I think some of the glitches you've mentioned can be fixed with NRaas mods. I would link you to the specific ones but you'll probably find that they all uses that you'd end up downloading most of them if not all.

This is the closet thing I can come up with
I know people don't wanna hear me bitch about bugs but this is seriously the most obviously bugged version of the game I've played.
The damn opportunity to turn the Imaginary Friend real is busted, at least for me. You give the Rainbow Gem to the Hospital and then you can't get the fucking potion because there is not option for it! I'd do it the other way but my fucking kid won't discover any potions despite spending hours at the desk with a logic of 6.
Meh, I'll probably just sell the doll, if I even can, since imo the IF is kinda annoying anyway. Creepy fucker follows you into the bathroom when you try to take a bath and interrupts the whole dang task.
