God, why do the expansions have to cost so much? Like $40 for pets? It's honestly way too much, for an expansion.
Yeah, I bought everything I wanted during a 50% off sale on Steam, saved quite a bit.

Should be $30 or $25 preferably with Stuff Packs being about $10.
I have an urge to play Sims 3 again, but I feel like i'd be missing out if I didn't catch up with expansions (Not got Showtime or Supernatural).
But that's a total of £50+
And getting 2 expansions at once always feels like you get less out of both (Unless Freetime for 2 really did just suck that much).
Too damned expensive, and they seem to take forever to go down. I remember when University for 2 came out and it was £18. On release.
Xmas sale is coming.
I think now there is a problem with at least the supernatural neighbourhood where certain oppertunes doesn't work in some the rabbit holes because the option never appears
Haven't played in a while, are there any mods I should download?
Being a private investigator seems to be completely broken. Half the time the cases are impossible, and half of the time they require a certain sim to be in a certain location... even if this location will never be within the sim's normal path.
Bands are totally broken too. You never get any calls from your agent for gigs.
So, what exactly did the patch fix?
I never experience any of the bugs most people bitch about some reason.

It added diving boards and at least in my case a rather large performance boost. Also you can swim in the ocean now.

With all the problems that you appear to being experiencing but nobody else is it sounds like you have some outdated mods installed that are fucking with your game.

Don't use mods and it's not just me. Every problem I've had has happened the other people and nearly all of them are listed in the official forum bug thread.
Thanks for playing.
I haven't been playing the Sims 3 until tomorrow (seasons), so here, have a picture of my town square in the Sims medieval!

Avatar fits
I heard sims 2 is a lot better than sims 3.
Sims 2 is p fun, and sims 3 looks like improvement to that so what's wrong with it?

I've been wanting to play this game again but its totally broken and won't launch in Windows 8 unless you don't patch the game.
Some reason the 2.0 patch breaks it.

I think the gripe mainly came up because people who bought all of the TS2 expansions had to go back to a base game. That was my complaint. Other than that, I loved nearly every change.
My sims always end up doing as little work as possible to survive, they're all slackers.
Also I just got sims 3: supernatural, gotta love dem faeries.

It's probably all those outdated mods he's using. :rolleye:

The Sims 3 feels more like a chore, and they've just made everything so easier. Plus, the actions weren't as quick because your Sim would just stand there for hours (in-game hours) before doing an action, which is understandable in some cases considering they recently tried something new with the whole open world thing.

Any reason you're attacking me for trying to help you troubleshoot?

Because you assumed that the bugs I was posting don't happen to anyone else when they do. Seemed douchey to me; so I thought poke fun at you for having a problem and then right after some guy says he runs it on Win 8 just fine. It made me chuckle is all. I don't really mean anything by it.

You're right I shouldn't have assumed you were using mods. I wasn't trying to be a douche its just sometimes when I write things they don't turn out how I expected them to in my head. Sorry.
chunkymonkey is like this all the time.
Shit Seasons comes out tomorrow? Right on time for Winter, the Vercetti family shall be pleased

I understand. I should have kept that jab to myself.

On a more related note, Seasons unlocked for me about 10 minutes ago and I just finished installing it. Off to the game I go!

Unless I'm misinterpreting what you're saying, isn't this what the free will slider was made for?

I mean the animations. In The Sims 2 your sims did every action on the queue without pausing, it made everything feel more fluid and natural, whereas TS3 it's almost like it's a miniature loading time before they do the next action in the queue.

I've noticed this. I turned free will off for my sims and I think it helped. Could just be placebo effect, though.
I used fire blast on a patch of grass in my front garden, put the fire out before it spread and house insurance gives me $350,000. I only had $50,000 after weeks of ingame playing.
